Hi guys, congrats to those who got their visas already. my question goes to people who used the letter of sponsor. Is it possible to apply for the "verpflichtungserklärung" with the admission letter of one school and after getting it, use the letter for another school in another city? Is the name of the particular school written on the letter?

Hello good people of NL (those in Germany and aspirants like me).
Having read over 400 pages of this thread. I must say you guys are doing a great work. This is my first time of commenting on this thread.
I have two questions to ask

1. I applied to 4 schools against Summer 2015, I'm curious to get the feedback on my admission status in any of the school( not under uniassist), they have all confirmed receiving my application since early december. When precisely do you think I can get feedback as I have not seen much peeps who have gained admission newly for Summer 2015.

2. For some weeks now I have been learning German Via videos downloaded from Youtube and I'm improving gradually, do you think its sufficient enough for me to reach A2 level by learning alone.

Moreso, kindly suggest more free online Deutsch lesson, I know of duolingo. Danke.
Ich Sprechen Viel nicht Deutsch
Hmm...I'm in similar shoes, attempting to take the A2 exam head-on in march. It depends mostly on how much effort you put in for it to be sufficient. I would recommend "Easy German" on YouTube because you can follow translations in German and English at the same time and then the Goethe Mundliche prufungen on YouTube to know what you're up against in the oral section and you can get some audio and articles to practice with on the Goethe website, and don't forget your conjugations 'Ich spreche' Mein zwei Loffel.

Cos the last time I checked, you are expected to Block a total amount of 8500 euros

That means you have to pay 4,500 naira at the embassy whilst opening the blocked account in which you transfer 8000 Euro to.

Yes the blocked account is now 4,500.

And I tried booking appointment for visa interview same day I submitted my blocked account documents, below is the response I got from the embassy the next day. Guess I have to wait then or is there any need telling them I want to do it earlier so I can go on time? I plan getting to Germany in early August.

Sir,
your study starts in October so it is too early for visa processing.
We can advise you to book an appointment for student visa in June.
Thanks for understanding.

If you'd done your homework properly by reading previous pages of this thread, you definitely would have found precise answers to this question as it has been treated extensively.
Well, what most people do is to have their universities send transcripts to places like a companies etc forming that they need it to secure a job and all that. You just get someone in a company probably a friend, to pick it up on your behalf. Make photocopies of the transcripts and have them certified. Depending on the type of certification required by the schools you intend applying to,you can do that at the german embassy in lagos which I hear is free, at the court for a minimal fee, or at a notary public which can be quite expensive depending on your relationship with such individuals. You then send these certified copies to such schools. As a matter of fact, most schools explicitely state that applicants need not send original documents but certified copies of required documents.
Finally, I will advise you to read this thread properly. You will be doing yourself a world of good as so so many have benefited from this thread and have achieved their primary goals of getting visas. The importance of this thread cannot be overstated as I am a living witness of this. You read this thread, apply yourself, meet the various requirements of your schools and embassy, you get your Visa. Chikena !!
Yes oooo! my people reading older pages is just like gaining the experience of all the veterans here. Also, staying updated is also important. Personally, I read every single page I might have missed on days I couldn't come here. For instance, there were some changes by the embassy which a whole lot of us lamented about around the ending of 2014. Without bursting your bubbles, things like -certification is no more free at the German embassy undecided Yup! you now have to pay a token of 1,200 naira for the certification of your document, I think regardless of the number of sets. Also don't forget money is paid can't remember the amount in euros precisely, i think about 4,500 naira (depending on the value of the naira to euro) cool as you sign and submit the form during the opening of the blocked account at the embassy . Others can add to or subtract from this as seen fit. We shall all drink garri in Germo grin Alles in ordnung (all is well)

I intend submitting my application to uni-assist this week...but the schools have set their deadline to Jan 15th..do you think it's a good idea going on wit the application to this current semester or shifting the application to the coming Winter, considering before uni-assist processes the application it would have long passed Jan 15th
I think it is not a good idea since uni-assist usually claim they need about 4-6 weeks to process your document. In this case, you want them to do it in less than a week before sending it to the schoolundecided I am assuming the fastest way which is also the most expensive way will only get to them on the 10th at best. Just my thoughts though. Ende gut, alles gut. (All is well that ends well) cool

Hey nevibot , how yoy doing brother ?How is everything going with you overthere . Trust you are gradually beginning to integrate into the system. With regards to goings on there, heard about this new right wing movement gathering up pace there but also heard a number of citizens have gone in to squash it. My question is, has it in any way affected you and the everyday non-german from observation.
The movement is mostly anti-Islam and has been condemned as racist and xenophobic although had as many 17000 people marching in Dresden just before Christmas.

Are you going for Msc or Bsc ? I think naijaobi was referring to Msc programs in which there is a possibility only in a handful of schools.

Two Germans killed in Nigeria.

Two German Nationals have been shot dead in Nigeria. According to German newspaper, Ostsee Zeitung, the two nationals, both male aged 34 and 20 were working as engineers at Julius Berger and were shot dead last Saturday December 27th while riding on a motorbike in Abuja.

Confirming the incident to AFP, a foreign affairs official said “Unfortunately we can confirm that two German nationals were killed in Nigeria last weekend".

I just checked their website nothing like that, where did you get that news. Besides it says application has not yet opened.

Anyways, I meant when do they start offering admission not the closing date for applications. Thanks
I got a mail regarding my recent winter application about 5 days ago where it was explicitly stated, kunlelikeme who is in Kleve also confirmed it here 2-3 pages away. They will definitely update their site in due time before application begins around the end of March.

Hoping to study Material science or Engineering courses -Bsc. It is an ultimate search getting an English taught program.

Need help from those who went through or are currently at the Goethe institute, I plan on writing the A2 level exam as an external student and would like to know how often or when this takes place. The last A2 exam was concluded recently, I think this december and waiting till November 2015 to register is not an option. I have been unable to find the info on their website and haven't gotten a response to the email I sent 3 weeks ago . I would also appreciate if those currently there can help me find out this info.

Please guys around what time does summer admission come out?
Most summer admissions have Jan 15 as their closing date. Time is almost up for summer application although a number of schools vary.

Throughout my search for schools, I have been avoiding uni-assist due to cost and stress, rhinewaal was my lifeline and they just joined uniassist undecided. There is god oooo. The search continues...

The surebet way is to select from daad.de . However, I applied to TUM, Uni of Tubingen, Uni Stuttgart, uni munster and Ulm. 3 summer and 2 winter 2015, I applied directly to the schools.
Tubingen just confirmed that they have received my docs.
undecided You already applied for winter? You dey vex ooo grin More so, did you apply directly for TUM? because they use Uni-assist for international students according to their website.

1. concerning application number: noted
2. concerning the application form not being out: I want to apply to six schools. from these 6 schools, three use exactly the same application form. you download from their website and and either hand fill or fill with a computer using adobe reader or the required application program. two use their own forms (one of them still giving u the choice 2 use between the general application form and their own personal application form). it's the last school that I've not been able to lay hold on their own application form.

then considering why they won't treat my files if the application form of the last school whose forms aren't out yet Is the same or not: are you trying to say that' they know the exact forms used in all schools?
are u also trying to say that is the same filled form that one submits at the embassy that one must use in applying to the various schools? cos I see nothing wrong in doing what I had earlier wrote,[it can only be wrong if the application form used in document certification must be that same one used to apply to these schools or if the German embassy infact keeps a record of the forms and might maybe spot the discrepancy when one comes to apply for visa.

and I am trying to avoid all the issues that concern high court certification (official seal, note saying that the document are original. ..bla...bla...bla). so please try oppose my views in a non sentimental manner ..and not use derogatory remarks thank u

cc adenjnr
Mr Sharp guy, to give you E-slap just dey hungry me.
I was referring to the school and not the embassy. Will a school process an application with a different application form?
Also, if certified at the embassy everything will be bound together so it is the certified copy that you must use in application. *in-between, "non sentimental" is the wrong choice of word in this context as it does not relate to being sensible so learn the meaning of the word before using it. Also, this is derogatory because I strongly disapprove of your move and I'm not willing to sugar-coat it*
@all help me explain to this fellow.
You claim "noted" regarding the application number and still say you see nothing wrong with your plan, even if all the schools in Germany use the same app.form, do you plan on feigning application number? You obviously have alot to learn so just read this thread and do yourself a favour.

good! na now you talk better thing.

now see this method I intend using.
I'll go at once, carry both the ones who's forms are out and who's forms aren't out.
and since i noticed that there's a general form for most universities in Germany
. I intend using this form to stand in for those schools who's forms I don't have yet pending when I'd get access to their forms; since they just want to certify and not do any serious vetting of the documents.
now I want to know if this my plan holds water or not?
ROTFLMFAO (rolling on the floor laughing my f*cking *ss out)....like seriously? You better calm down and do things appropriately. You have been told that there are no exceptions and came with this one again. You've given a not too good impression of yourself and I advise you desist from any such ruse as you will only end up shooting yourself on the foot.

That being said, HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE TERM APPLICATION NUMBER? If you have'nt, it is generated automatically after you have applied online and this number will be printed out on your application form.

Also if the application is not out, how do you know the type of application form they use. If different do you think your files will be treated with a different application form? OYO
This will only be viewed as a 'Nigerian Shenanigan'
My advice is that you stay where you are and certify for schools that have started application at rotary clubs or highcourt and then do the rest later as soon as they start. We all know that Germans are organized on another level. Please familiarize yourself with this thread and try sticking with rules when dealing with this people. Your plan holds only dirty water.Gemeinsam wir sind stark.
