Culture › Re: Endangered Languages Of Nigeria + Others by tbagjames(m): 6:38am On Aug 06, 2014 |
Research shows that most Nigerian languages will be extinct in the next 50 years. This research might be quite through judging from what has been happening in Nigeria. My reasons are as follows: 1. Town syndrome- most parents never take it as a cultural priority to take their wards to their hometowns where these languages are spoken flawlessly. They prefer to raise them in towns and cities. 2. Queen's english- i often here parents telling their wards to speak queen's english. It's difficult to hear a parent telling a child to speak Oba's Yoruba, Emir's Hausa or so. 3. Conflicts. Conflict tend to seperate large communities of a lingua. As they split, they mingle wit larger groups and take up the ways of that group thereby forgetting theirs. 4. The list is endless |

Lets call a spade a spade, he spoke not only the truth but the gospel truth. Nigeria delayed and we are reaping it's consequencies. If not that Nigeria is a country, some nigerians would have advocated that all flights from Lagos to other parts of the countries be stopped. |

Politics › Re: Impeachment: Nasarawa Speaker, 5 Others Face Recall by tbagjames(m): 6:58am On Aug 04, 2014 |
YoursGEJ: Sharrap. Nigerians have no balls to recall politicians. Do they even know what page in the constitution gives directives as to instituting a recall. Even if they do, 1 kg of stapled rice will convince them to change their minds. Nigerians, and the youths especially, are waiting for somebody to hand their future to them on a platter of gold and they will keep waiting. If recalls were common, politicians will sit up but it is not possible in Nigeria because you will still find some cursed human beings who have been paid to sell the future of their children and participate in support rallies for the incompetent politicians
If Americans mention recall, Nigerians too go talk recall. Abegi make I hear word jare Big grammer |
