Kano State governor, Dr Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, yesterday took the Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose to the cleaners over his use of vile language and verbal assaults on individuals and the Northern region, saying he has become a national embarrassment and should be taken to the psychiatric hospital. Kwankwaso who stormed Lagos to counter the effects of alleged ‘dollar rain’ in Lagos State, South West zone and to reunite the Arewa Community in the zone now divided over the sharing formula of Mr President’s largess also visited the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu with Hausa leaders to reaffirm their loyalty to the party despite the financial inducements. The governor who lamented the insults and virulent language being used to deride General Muhammadu Buhari and the Northern region in general by President Goodluck Jonathan and his campaign group said, “The North will reply them on March 28 in the presidential polls.” “When I had an opportunity to serve my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), I was sent to Ogun State to serve as a member of NYSC and has always had this belief that this part of the country parades an array of people who are well cultured, respectful people ranging from Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Chief Ernest Shonekan, Chief Obasanjo, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, MKO Abiola among numerous others. http://leadership.ng/news/417834/fayose-is-an-embarrassment-kwankwaso 2 Likes |

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it has achieved 81.2% distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs. This is according to a document released by the commission in Abuja on Friday. The document, which is a list, contains the data collated from the 36 states in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). As at Friday, March 13, out of a total number 68.8 million registered voters across the country, 55, 904, 272 million PVCs have been distributed. Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Kayode Idowu, said that the commission could not set a particular number of PVCs that must be collected before the elections could hold. He, however, gave the assurance that INEC would continue to work hard to ensure that more cards are distributed across the country before the election. While giving an explanation on why the commission would not set a target, he said, “The danger with doing so is that if the threshold is not reached, then we cannot conduct elections.” The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) had, in the previous week, extended the distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by two weeks. Launched after extensive beta testing in countries like Ukraine, Singapore, Belarus, Malaysia and Israel, the application makers are finally convinced about the success rate and have rolled the products out, online. Leading game developers across the world are closely partnered with Viber already and the launch of many new games are currently imminent. Viber users can challenge their friends to a game and in turn, you’ll get to know what games they are playing too. Viber, as we all know is free. It makes revenue through its stickers, that once purchased is good enough to be used for life. It seems like these games would form another scope of earning revenue for Viber; might turn out that the games would also function like stickers – you’ll have some free ones and then there would be the chargeable ones. So expect a load of paid games to come soon. The price range is still undisclosed and it is too early to guess but they aren’t going to be very expensive. Users would have more to do – even if they are bored of making and receiving calls or chatting. Currently, there are two applications that offer similar services – Tango and WeChat. These are going to face tough competition from Viber, because the user headcount of Viber is larger than of these apps. Now that Viber has already made this break, don’t be very surprised if you see WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and other applications like Skype follow suit. Now to get to the main point, that is, how to install these games on your device. For this, depending upon your device, visit your respective App Store. The app stores are always the best when it comes to downloading applications because they are highly reliable and would not have any corrupted files. Launch the application and select the ‘more’ option. After this, you are required to navigate to the Viber Games section and select the game you wish to play. Once done, this application then waits for the phone to download the game. In my own view we have three school of thought:Our school of though, your school of thought and MY OWN SCHOOL OF THOUGH which is; The requirement was for Us to attain first school leaving certificate, but the competition escalated to an Unimaginable height. Secondary level was another demanding task we all aspire for but that wasn't enough,University education becomes everyone's dream....hmmmm.......aluta ccontinu [The struggle continues] the credit attach to Bsc has in one way or the other degraded all other degree inclusively the FCE candidates which should be the top priority of any nation 'the teachers in the making' that is a story for another day. Attainment of the Bsc is no problem because under any weather some of Nigerian student will still struggle to get it, if the first class students are lucky the will be retained by the University as lecturer, the second class student fortunately will become managers, engineers, bankers and maybe entrepreneurs. The last set of students which happens to be third class in most cases who are the outlaws of any institution become the ruler (politicans ) who now with power and authority bestow on them preside over the first class and the second class student! Hmmmm what an irony of life. In a nation with low job opportunities, entrepreneurship should have been integrated into educational system long ago, that could help younger generation possess high definition eyes in sighting opportunity in every social lacuna of the country just like the richest black man "1964: Kano Capital Elementary School (during break time in the high-brow primary school with other schoolkids who wanted sweets, Aliko would bring out a handful and told his jolly good friends that they could have one for a dime. He was that sharp." People say opportunity come but once, nobody gives opportunities they are most times hijacked “There is an expiry date on blaming your parents for steering you in the wrong direction; the moment you are old enough to take the wheel, responsibility lies with you.” we all cannot be gazillionaire overnight but whatever your hand finenth to do, do it diligently. To the people it may concern the history will not forgive for wasting your youthful days, let's not see any barrier as a problem but a challenge that can be solved. We all hope for a better Nigeria and What this country needs is more unemployed politicians not unemployed graduates |
