Hello @duchess90 I'm happy to inform you that UKVI have reached out to my MA after over 5months since we submitted AR application. However, they responded by bombarding us with 15 questions (learnt is the final part of AR reconsideration process before sending passport to VAC). The questions are actually interesting as MA had already been interviewed by UKVI and similar questions were asked, but some of the questions are tricky and I need your suggestion.

For example, one of the questions says that we provide evidence to show where the money we have on our POF comes from (source).

We actually got financial support from family members and same was mentioned during the course of the interview.

We have gotten ready, signed letters of attestation from some members of the family that have provided financial assistance to support this course.

So I want ask: Is this evidence sufficient? Is there something else we need to add or we can just submit this first.

Thanks for being there always Duchess. Though, I wouldn't mind suggestions from other gurus as well. I anticipate our contributions.

That makes alot of sense. Would try to reach out to my school first thing next week to see if they could intervene for me same way.

Kindly do well to update the house the result this yields.

No serious update o, though I remain optimistic. Did paid enquiry and it was escalated. This is the response i got;

"We can confirm these applications are currently with a caseworker for reconsideration.

You will receive a decision shortly, though due to the increased volume of reconsiderations we are currently receiving, we cannot give a timescale for this.

We are sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience."

School on the other hand hasn't responded to my mails for them to follow up with UKVI, I intend to send them another mail today. Do you have further suggestions for me?. Thank you very much for your concern ma'am.

Hello @Yaya and @Tboy

We don't have the luxury of time. School resumes in September, any AR now will likely be coming out in October, then the reconsideration. This is really tortuous.

Well I have left everything in God's Hands. If we have to reapply for another Visa, it means we would have to source for another IHS and Visa fees as well as POF topup funds, which with current realities in Nigerian, is tough to come by.

But if you just submitted your A.R and you have the means to reapply, the best option for you is to go ahead and re-apply.

For me, next week would make it 5months since we submitted our A.R application. I believe our destination is near and I have faith that we'd smile before the end of next month.

They got back to us within 3 months after we submitted the A.R that it has turned out successful, however they started the reconsideration process in June and we waiting for the outcome of that. I was told the reconsideration process is the final process of the Administrative Review.
BRAINNY:
Bro, how long has your AR being and have they communicated to you?

Hi bro, what was the reason adduced for your initial refusal?

...That they couldn't reach out to my financial Institution. But they actually never reached out until after I submitted A.R.

Yes o.... tough decision indeed.

After bombarding them with various mails, they've escalated my case and Sheffield escalations have also escalated it to the appropriate department making it double escalations lolcheesy. I have also mailed the immigration and welfare department of the school, I'm waiting for their response. At this point I've left everything in the Hands of God.
duchess90:
Hello

I completely understand how you feel

The contact centre can be quite annoying. When you are referred to AR what response do you get??

Your Uni's follow up can help apply some pressure

If you do decided to reapply, your AR will be automatically discontinued

Tough decision

Hi Duchess, I'm still here waiting on God's intervention. Thanks for being there for us always, may The Lord continue to meet you at the point of your needs.

Paid mail isn't helping matters. Those lazy guys keeping referring me to A.R department.

Meanwhile alot of people are suggesting that it's best to begin another application considering the time it takes for A.R to be concluded, do you think it's best that I reapply?

I'm also considering discussing with the school to help follow-up but does the school have the authority to hasten up A.R decisions? Its mentally draining and frustrating.

Hello.

Does anyone have an idea how long Visa reconsideration process take after a successful Administrative Review?

Any chances that Visa would be issued and before September classes begin?

Anyone with similar experience?

Thanks @Mattmich. This isn't a new visa application, it's a Visa reconsideration process.

My previous CAS was cancelled because my visa was refused, but upon the successful administrative review, the decision was overturned. I Informed the school about this development and they issued me with another CAS. Would UKVI be aware of this or I have to find a way to inform them?
Mattmich:
Hello.
1. The word "Conclude" is just a final decision about your application. It's in two ways, Successful or the other way. But if you have done the main thing required of you, you need not have any fear.

2. About your CAS?
Didn't you submit it during your application? I know there's a text area for providing of your CAS number.
If you can respond to this, it will help answer you well
Best Regards!

Good morning everyone
Tboy243:
After overturning the decision to refuse my visa, repaying IHS fees for my application to be reconsidered and school reissuing me with a new CAS, I made paid mail enquiry to know the status of my application as it had been more than 30days, and below is the response I got from UKVI....

"Thank you for your enquiry."

"I can confirm we are now in receipt of your IHS payment and we are now continuing to work on the application, I can confirm that we will conclude the decision as soon as we are able to. We cannot give a time scale for when the application will be concluded but you will be contacted once it has been. We appreciate your patience and understanding."

My question is; what does the word "conclude"
as used in the mail imply, does it mean visa has been approved but waiting to be concluded?, I don't get.

2. Do I have to send them (UKVI) my new CAS number for this reconsideration process or it's not necessary?

Hello

Congratulations

Yes your visa will be issued, you won't need to do TB test and biometrics

Unless there was an issue at the VAC
with the previous biometrics you did then when you return your passport you will redo your biometrics, if Not then you won't need to

Cheers

Thank you again @Duchess.

Homeoffice (work and study) sent a separate email that; "the decision to refuse your visa applications has been overturned and our office will now proceed to reconsider your applications".

They said we have to take certain steps before they begin the reconsideration process which includes repayment of IHS fees (which were earlier refunded).

They also said that; "ON COMPLETION OF THE DECISION YOU WILL BE CONTACTED BY THE VISA APPLICATION CENTRE WHERE YOU INITIALLY MADE YOUR APPLICATION TO REQUEST YOUR PASSPORT...."

Meanwhile, the school is adequately informed about this development and I await their response regarding my CAS.

My question now is: can we say that after following the steps stated in this new email, could it mean that our Visas would now be issued and their may not be need to redo biometrics or carry out T.B test?

Good day everyone, I have brought goodnews smiley...
Praise be to Allah, The A.R I submitted 3 months ago has succeeded. Refusal decision made on My Students visa and that of my dependent have been overturned... Kindly find attached screenshot for details...

Contrary to what alot of people believe, UKVI caseworkers are also humans and they are bound to make mistakes, so never give up and never take A.Rs for granted (just to encourage someone wink).....

What happens next?... I really don't know, I'm only waiting for my school to issue me with CAS for September intake....

Any ideas or suggestions?... What's in this overturned decision for me?.... Could it be possible that my dependent and I may not need to apply for another Visa? Anyone with similar experience?

No one can tell you how long an Administrative Review will take as it is outside the normal vis processes and is like a black box that can't be tracked. The regular timeline in the past used to be 2 weeks but this often stretched for 2 months or more then.
The website has recently to give a timeframe of up 6 months so you might have to wait for 4 more months. It might be less or more but all you can do at this stage is to wait.

Hello everyone.

Please how long would it take for UKVI to respond to the Administrative Review application of my student's visa that was denied? I applied 2 months ago. I saw that it's within 6 months on their website.

Though my admission has been deferred till September and I have requested for my CAS. I'm now wondering as I learnt that the A.R application would be automatically rejected if I apply for another Visa.

Can someone advise me?.... I want to re-apply for another Visa and benefit from the A.R if it's successful, maybe I would get a refund of my VIsa fees or other benefits...
Could someone please attend to this? .. Thank you as you do cry

Good day everyone.

I would like to ask for a friend about TB test;

He did his TB test January at IOM to apply for his student's Visa. Results showed he had an abnormal chest x-ray as something was discovered in his lungs. He was asked to do sputum test which would take weeks for results to be out, but he refused saying he has no TB and that doing the test would cause delay in submitting his visa application and could cause him to loose the school's sponsorship. To cut the story short, he was given his certificate after serious plea but was advised to carry out further examination on his own to check what could be causing the abnormalty in the X-ray. Unfortunately his Visa was denied.

On carrying out further checks, my guy did another x-ray which came out as abnormal again but his doctor said it was nothing to worry about that all lungs can not be thesame grin and that he should go and carry out blood test as he said he (my friend) said he couldn't produce sputum. The blood test result came out negative.

He's now preparing to reapply for his visa as he was able to defer his admission till September.

Bosses, any suggestion on how he can get his TB certificate without being asked to do sputum test since his personal checks revealed that he has no TB? Also, is the blood test result tenable or presentable? Is it acceptable in TB test centres to proove he doesn't have TB?

Sorry to bore you with the long stories. I'd appreciate your suggestions so that I can advise him accordingly. Thank you.

I understand perfectly well. The summary is that the IHS fees would be refunded automatically, within 6 weeks of refusal, irrespective of whether the AR (if pursued) is successful or not as it would take months to get response for the AR, after which one would have to repay for a fresh Visa application.

Thanks a bunch for the clarifications.
doyinluv:

please read these lines to see if it applies to you.
If you appeal or ask for an administrative review
If you applied from:

inside the UK - you’ll get your refund up to 6 weeks after your appeal or administrative review is dismissed
outside the UK - you’ll get your refund up to 6 weeks after your visa application is refused
You’ll have to repay the IHS if your appeal or administrative review is successful and you’ve already got your IHS refund.

You might have to repay a different amount if:

the length of your stay changes
you get less time on your visa than you asked for
Contact UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) if your refund is not paid within 6 weeks.

I sincerely appreciate your continued support.

Yes the school is willing to support in any way they can and have successfully deferred my offer till September.

However, I don't think they have plans to mitigate the cost, neither do they have options for virtual classes for me. But I think they can provide relevant CAS documents and how speedily they'd be able to do so is what I am not certain of. They're willing to come in as regards the AR but they aren't really coming out to state the exact assistance they'd be rendering.

I know I would have to pay another IHS for a new Visa application but I have to get a refund of the previous one I paid, expecially if AR isnt successful, right?
dduchess90:
Hello

Yes you will be required to pay another IHS if you are submitting a new application

Have you got the support from your Uni regarding this? Is there a way they will mitigate the cost/provide assistance perhaps allow you join online if AR is successful. Will they provide relevant CAS documents speedily if UKVI requests for it so you can meet up with September

If not it isn't worth it

Cheers

I can't agree any less, it actually is complicated.
However, I am willing to take my chances.

But please, if the AR becomes successful and IHS isn't refunded, would I still have to pay for a new IHS if I'm required to submit another application to match the previous one?
dduchess90:
Hello

To add to what @Mimilyrics has said

If AR is successful, a new CAS will be requested, IHS will not be refunded, additional documents may be requested especially your maintenance funds to confirm you still have that

And yes you may be required to submit a new application to match details on the previous one.

AR on study visa can be quite complicated compared to visit visa

Cheers

Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by Tboy243: 11:01pm On Feb 22, 2023
Thank you for your contribution. If I understand you correctly, could it mean that the AR isn't going to be useful even if it overturns the decision because it can't be used for September and I would have to forget this application and start all over again? But, could UKVI still grant success to the AR and grant Visa despite knowing that CAS has expired and still don't refund IHS?
mimilyrics:
IHS is only refunded if the visa isn't granted; once it's granted, it won't be refunded even if you don't travel with the visa. If AR overturns the refusal, you can't use if for September. You'll need to rinse and repeat the whole process which includes POF for at least 28 days before your online submission.

Alright
Thank you very much for your contribution. What now happens to the IHS fees I paid earlier, wouldn't it be refunded? Also if the AR becomes successful, could UKVI grant my Visa before the September cohort which I plan to defer to and does it mean i may not submit POF?
mimilyrics:
A successful AR means that they can easily issue you a new CAS for another entry if your course's latest date of arrival passes before the successful AR.
What this means is that if your school doesn't extend your latest date of arrival and your AR is successful, it is easier to get another CAS to apply for the session you defer to since they know that you have a high chance of being granted the 2nd time around.
Downside is that you'll need to pay your visa + IHS fees all over again.
