Chizzybenjamin: Hey peeps,
I hav bin way to oppressed dat I dnt only wanna liberate myself n buy a PB,but wud buy and sell here for a gud price to others.
My question is dis,I kinda noticed that US used Pbs r not being advertised for sale here on NL,butI saw a lot to purchase.I wud b shipping in some used 16gb PBs.
Hope dere aint no general issues 4 dem not be sold if so pls state,so I can quickly deviate. It cud also be dat dey r scarce(gud 4 me)
But as for me am getting myself a used 32gb n I dnt giv a hoot sins I got a good rating on it.
If it goes as planned(which it wuld) den tell ur friends to get ready 4 sum real fun on deir PBs w not less dan 10k savings.
Ur inputs wud b appreciated all d same cos aint made up my mind on d purchases yet
Nothing wrong with used pb's as long as you're getting them from a reliable vendor who won't sell you melons. It's up to you to then find buyers and sell to them at very attractive rates. If your used pb and new one are almost same price, logically people will go for brand new ones instead.
PhonesRe: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by TCD:
I meant blackberry phone not tablet. Transfer the file to your phone then rename it with the bb file manager. If you want to be able to do same on your tablet, download and sideload the App called "files and folders".

efewhoa: @TCD, that 9mm game does it not save, played it several times and completed about the first two levels, but everytime I close it I have to start all over again?
if you downloaded the version 2 from the specific link i gave for 9mm, you shouldnt have this problem. Its the version 1 that has an auto save bug.

2010a: Please does anyone in the house know how to transfer files from any smartphone eg blackberry, android etc to PlayBook. I have been trying to do so since yesterday night to no avail.
I am very confused now.
you can only transfer files via bluetooth with a blackberry thats bridged with your playbook. And you need an app called files and folders to do that.

Efewoha, remember you were getting the 9320 from UK, how's the battery life of the device so far?
PhonesRe: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by TCD: 10:13am On Jul 16, 2012
efewhoa: downloaded that 9mm game when I tried sideloading I was told file is not a zip file. What does that mean please
rename the 9mm from .zip to .bar. Do that with the file manager on your blackberry, not windows explorer.

efewhoa: thanks alot, my PlayBook would empty without you. When I click on download the Page keeps refreshing, does that happening to you?
yes it does, I just keep pressing till it downloads. Or better still, use your blackberry phone browser doesn't do that.

I may have posted on the wrong link for "PB Native apps" and "PB Native games" on page 8, apologies to all of you. This is the right link, for native games http://chimen.minus.com/m0V0NMiHn/1g . The games are in alphabetical order, scroll to R there you'll find real football. Page 8 has been modified also for both.

efewhoa: yeah I have done that, waiting for the DDPB to connect, its been tryng to connect for over 15mins now is that normal?
not normal, restart ur laptop after installing do JRE. Things to check, make sure devt mode is enabled and the IP you see in the devt mode page corresponds with the IP displayed on ddpb. And ofcourse your password should be entered correctly.
TCD. Those applications on that site you specified some pages back, cant on download directly to the playbook from that site? Will i have to still go thru the hassles of sideloading? I tought they've been already converted to bar files?
you can't just install bar files directly, they have to be sideloaded onto the device.
PhonesRe: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by TCD: 3:36pm On Jul 13, 2012
efewhoa: I tried it again but this time when I clicked on connect on the DDPB, this message came up 'Java is not recognised as an internal or external command'. What should I do please?
you're supposed to download the latest Java runtime environment (JRE) and install for ddpb to work. I stated it there. Did you download it?

cafedeluv: Thanks TCD but how do i reload the os using dingleberry.
i keep getting banned for posting this, don't know why. Just got banned again this morning.

I don tire for the spam bot. Anyway, quick summary download the playbook OS, download dinghy extract the folder. Put the files of the playbook OS into the custom folder of dingle berry folder u extracted. Enable development mode on your PB, connect the usb cable, launch dberry, enter your PB password and connect. Then click on firmware on the db interface, on the left drop down menu select 'custom" on the right drop down menu select full os. Then click update. Watch as db loads the pb os you put in its custom folder into your playbook.

Since I can't post links without getting my ass banned, use Google to search for where to download dingleberry berry and where to download Latest playbook OS.

efewhoa: First attempt at sideloading didn't go quite well,my device ended up doing a security wipe and I now have to upgrade the pb. Will try again once I do the upgrade today.
sorry man, wonder how that happened. When learning to sideload, start with very tiny apps, easier to learn the ropes with them. Goodluck

Yeecar: (1) please how do i reset my playbook book back to factory settings. And do i need wifi connection for dat?
(2) How do i send files from my play book, using bluethoot?
(3) Av gone through your manual on sideloading, seriously i dont understand it at all. Please try and xplain it in a simplified manner for non computer gurus like us.
(4) where can i download applications and games for my playbook free of charge?
(5) Am presently using curve 2 for brigding, and seriously have not realy enjoyed my play book at all, its really really slow and @ times it doesnt even connect to the internet @ at all. Please what type of phone do you sugest i upgrade to. 'As very fast intrnet connectivity.
Tnx in anticipation of quick response, oga tcd.
Chief lexus has answered you wonderfully. Bridging with curve 2 is serious punishment.

For no 2. You can only send files via bluetooth to a bridged blackberry. And you need an app called files and folders, you'll have to sideload it.

No 3, the manual on sideloading is pretty simple. links and pictures are there to guide you. Just calmly read it, download the necessary tool (ddpb) and follow it step by step. It's not hard I tell you. Once you have the tools in front of you and reading the manual, it makes much more sense than going through and trying to imagine.

Fhemmmy: With extra 8000 Naira, you could get one, Sir . . . So do you give me a go ahead to pick up a a BB 9360 for you . . .
jesu christi cool. Abegoo, I'm waaay over budget. Let battery chill. Get the 9360 instead, sounds like a good bargain. Thank you. I'd like to see pics of what it looks like pls, hope it's not white, pink or any of those freakish colours.
Technology MarketRe: Used Blackberry 9320 Pre-ordered By Bigx Of Nairaland. ****DELIVERED**** by TCD: 10:37pm On Jul 12, 2012
Fhemmmy: In that case, i will advice that you buy an extra Battery so while one is in use, the other is chilling
how much will that cost extra to get it from there?
Technology MarketRe: Used Blackberry 9320 Pre-ordered By Bigx Of Nairaland. ****DELIVERED**** by TCD: 7:21pm On Jul 12, 2012
Fhemmmy: For some reasons, the first choice seems really difficult . . . And i dont wanna promise what i am not sure of when to get it.
Not that it is not available at all oh, but cos of the scarcity, the price they asking for is not making sense and i will NEVER buy such for a buyer of mine . . . Not worth it, cos you could get a Torch 1 for the kinds price they asking for
phew, this is tough. In that case I'll be willing to grab the 9360 then. My main concern is battery quality, if the battery that'll be coming with it is top notch, then I should be okay. Coz I'll do alot of FM radio and bluetooth, need it to last.

PhonesRe: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by TCD: 6:46pm On Jul 12, 2012
efewhoa: Please where can I download apps from apart from the App world?
downloading apps outside app world, you'll have to sideload them into the playbook. Flip back the pages of the thread, steps on sideloading have been outlined, plus many links abound on where to get apps.

Racheed: TCD pls i wont mind meeting you before goin back to school for your very large apps/games. Its the 5mb download limit guy..
ah my bros, you're still on that one? Why not just get an OS 6 blackberry to save yourself headache. 2nd hand cheap ones like curve 3G.

Wouldn't have any problems giving you all my application/game archives but I'm not in Lagos o.
Technology MarketRe: Used Blackberry 9320 Pre-ordered By Bigx Of Nairaland. ****DELIVERED**** by TCD: 6:36pm On Jul 12, 2012
Fhemmmy: Nothing yet, but please tell me if you would settle for a 9360 at a cost of only 31K and you pay for the delivery to you. . . Just my way of saying, Thanks for your business . . I will be picking one 9360 up tomorrow and i will be willing to give it to you at that price
i appreciate your efforts sir, 9360 isn't really my first choice I prefer the other one for the reasons I gave u before. That said, it seems it's going to be too difficult for you to get hands on my first choice coz of scarcity and I might have to consider settling for this 9360. So it really depends on how confident are you on being able to secure my first choice device for me?

bukahands: Please can I use ma mtn 1500 bbc month be used on ma playbook to download large files like 600MB and above cos am afraid of dat MTN BIS 200MB limit
mtn bbc has no limit. Dont mind the 200mb thing they tell you.
PhonesRe: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by TCD: 12:46pm On Jul 12, 2012
efewhoa: I have seen that, its just that i am finding it hard to get the choice view. When I turn the screen to portrait it doesn't respond sometimes
whenever you change positions, just tilt the PB towards you at 45 degrees angle, thats how the pb knows your position. Took me awhile to figure that out.
