ComputersRe: Is Desmond Ewomazino A Scammer? by TCD: 4:44pm On Aug 02, 2012
Naa was oo, people shouldn't fall for this scam. I hope anybody considering doing business with this foolish Desmond will Google his name and find the numerous crimes he's committed. So many Nigerians are just gullible. It's always good to research someone before you commit money to them.

For his defenders on this thread, they are scanners too, thank God they have exposed themselves, I see they have all at one time or the other advertised cars for sale, people should beware and never buy anything from them.

Lexusgs430: If you meant the blackberry 9320, it is also 3G enabled.
the 9220 is the new version of 8520 doeant have 3G, its like a 9320 without 3G. Surprised why such a device is being produced in 2012.

Lexusgs430: You are lucky that your IP address is routed through the UK. Tmobile UK have routed their BIS connection through their headquarters (Germany), hence BBC Iplayer would only work through wifi and not BIS.
So if MTN answers your USA prayer requests , that is Iplayer out of the windows for you!!!
bro, I'll gladly give up the BBC iplayer for the American variety of stations. BBC 1, 2, 3,4 are just depressing.

Still on streaming, if you're a music lover like me, then you should download the VEVO app. It's a music app where you can watch music videos (both old and latest ones) of artistes on demand. Just like having MTV right there in your pocket only this time you can choose what you want to watch.

Has all the popular musicians you can prolly think of. They are arranged according to name and under each you can watch all their old and new music videos with just a click.

And yes, the caveats above also apply here especially needing a good 3G connection.

PhonesRe: Blackberry Playbook: Anyone? by TCD: 7:40pm On Jul 28, 2012
Oh, forgot to put some necessary caveats in my first post.

1. Do not bother trying this if you don't have a good 3G connection. If you're using EDGE don't waste your time. It's easier for a came to pass through the eye of half a needle.

2. Do not try this if you use any other network apart from MTN. Worse if you use Airtel. Streaming video is a serious data consumer. For example on a good day, watching hours of docs on youtube, shows, watch the news on BBC live, at the end of the day I check my data traffic app on my BB used 2 to 3 GB on the average. If it's on the day one of my female friends wink decides to turn my PB into Africa Magic and watch countless Full Nollywood movies on youtube, by the end of the day can get up to 5GB. So if you're on Etisalat, GLO, Airtel except you want to finish your data allowance in one day, stay away.

3. While watching away and enjoying yourself, it's good to have your phone plugged to a power source, plug the PB too if you can. Although it's not compulsory for the PB. Did a test and my PB took me through 7 hours of continuous streaming nonstop from full battery till automatically shutdown. This was with bluetooth headset also connected at the same time. The blackberry phone in the other hand is another story, as we all know 3G drains the battery of the bb phone fast. So its best to have your phone plugged in somewhere, even if it's to your laptop or desktop computer.

4. Erm, what againhuh huh huh, if I think of another warning I go tell una.

spoilerx: Abeg where do u stream matches/movies on ur playbook? Please I need the website
The playbook is an all round entertainment device, infact carry mine as a mobile entertainment and information hub. This is made possible by MTN's wonderful unlimited BIS, God bless their souls.

For streaming, the first most obvious one would be youtube, has a wide array of different content in every field of life. I love documentaries alot there are thousands on youtube. Same for comedy shows and clips. I also remember watching covenant university's last convocation via their live stream on youtube, so it goes with reason that live streams can be watched via youtube.

For sport streams, last may I viewed the Uefa champions league final live on my PB using livetv.ru. Havent tried them since then though. Wanted to see if i could view some during euros unfortunately was busy during that period.

Now, the one I'm mainly into after youtube is watching TV streams using Tablet Tv app. The beauty of this app is it has a wide array of channels grouped according to countries. From ABC, NBC, FOX, MTV, CNN , Disney channel, BBC eetc etc. Unfortunately though these channels are location restricted. Luckily or should i say unluckily for me, the blackberry server handling my BIS traffic happens to be in the Uk, so when bridged, i have a UK IP and as such im only able to access the UK channels like BBC news and the dry BBC 1, 2,3, 4 etc. Wish my bis was routed through RIM's servers in America, i'd be a much happier man.

Sure there are ways to change your ip to whatever country you want using proxy servers but you csn only set proxy servers for when you're on wifi, doesnt work for bridge. Even if it did, i dont trust those proxy people with my information. All your traffic goes through their servers, dont be surprised if someone in russia clears you bank account then you start asking how manage.

Putting some screen shots up of tablet tv in action, first two shows some interfaces in the app, the others show me watching my only fave british channel live, BBC News.

The message doesn't come up if am transfering from my phone to the pb tho, please what can I do?
not sure why you're having that issue, if you have ruled out inadequate memory issues as the cause, then maybe you should download the latest version 4.1.2 as that has better bridge support.

Btw, anyone sideloading opera mini on playbook is wasting his time. The playbook stock browser seems adequate enough, downloads well, loads multiple pages, fast etc. Although I have about 6 other browser installed, the stock browser does okay for me. Just use the others for certain intricacies. To the fellows looking for opera, download Maxthon browser or dolphin browser HD, those are android sideloads. Maxthon is better than dolphin though

HealthRe: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by TCD: 6:39am On Jul 22, 2012
agiboma: ^^^^ No offence taken. But lets be clear on this PPROM issue, my stance is that medical professionals in Nigeria as especially too quick to throw in the towel and tel women they should terminate the pregnancy in issues of PPROM arising in mid secound trimester, for example 17 week, 19 weeks etc. Their is a frequent poster on here who shared her story of PPROM in Secound trimester and she was also told to terminate the pregnancy, she did not listen to medical advice and carried her son to term. If it can happen to her in this Nigeria then it can also happen for someone else. I am well aware of the risk to both mom and baby when PPROM arises early, but we are not g-d and miracles can happen and it did for a poster on this thread. I hope many others will read her story and look towards her positive outcome for encouragement. In my life i have 2 frineds that waters broke @ 17 weeks with a single baby and 19 weeks with twins, the babies where born early and spent time in NNICU but they are alive today. All the things you said about complications and developmental delays etc are true, but i am here to tell you that is not the case for everyone. Yes i dont know the circumstances behind the delivery of Eggy babies but ii feel the need to share this information perhapes it will help anther person in the same circumstances make an informed decision.
@Eeggy the only thing i can think of is to take progesterone up until term @ 37 weeks next pregnancy. I had anotherfriend that had PPROM @ 27 weeks and her secound pregnancy she was overdue, perhapes it can help you.
It's all good passing information but calling evidence based medical treatment "bad medical advice" is wrong. Yes cancer doesn't kill everybody some even have recorded spontaneous regression, does that mean offering chemo and radiotherapy to a cancer patient is bad medical advice? There are no absolutes in medicine rather treatments are formulated based on what has been scientifically observed and worked for majority.

There are very dangerous risks involved here, you're dealing with human lives. Maybe one person here claims to have carried a 19 week PPROM to term (which the odds are very low) the problem with all this my friend this, my friend that, they will never tell you about the majority who have died taking that same risk and lost their wombs and tubes to infections. When that happens to you, its only "oh sorry" they will tell you and "Our God is a miracle God he knows why this happened, he can give you triplets with damage tubes " while giving you stories of friend's friend who had bouncing baby boys with no tubes. When all comes crashing you're left on your own to bear the consequences. If worst happens and she dies, taking a very big risk will you be happy to have such weighing on your conscience? Believe me, it's a terrible feeling.

The clinical picture for every situation varies. People should not be relating A's experience to B's as one tiny detail could be the difference between survival and death.

To all the women in this thread, I wish you safe deliveries, one of my professors used to say, pregnancy is not a disease, it's not a sickness and our women shouldn't be dying. He had an artist paint a picture of a pregnant woman in a protective shield and several arrows each labelled with a different medical condition pointing towards the woman in the protective ball, he'll carry this artwork around then tell us, it's your jobs to see these arrows coming from afar and stop them anyway you can. That is the mindset your doctor has, he's looking far ahead of you trying to see those arrows coming and his priority is to keep you alive and whole. Where there is life, there is also hope for more children.

Peace to you all and safe deliveries.

HealthRe: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by TCD: 11:04am On Jul 21, 2012
agiboma: Sorry for your loss, g-d is faithful and will soon fill your heart with joy and the sounds of little feet running all over your house. The answer to your question is not simply. I guess you are located in Nigeria, where medical know how is not so advanced. Anyway even though the water has broken the babies can still be alive for the fact that cervix did not open i cant understand why they dlivered and induced labour. I know many women that had their water break at 17 weeks, 19 weeks with twins also and the babies are both alive today. This happened in Canada, they had a "dry birth". PPROM is hard to explain the only prevention is possibly taking progesterone supplements next pregnancy to avoid it. In any pregnancy if the water breaks in secound trimester the mother is started on antibiotics to prevent infection and usually placed on bed rest. I am afraid the medical advice you got to induce labour was not good advice at all. When they scanned the babies after the water broke did they have a heart beat?nIf they had a heart beat you should have been told about your options. How was your wife's bp during the pregnancy? remember every pregnancy is different.
hello sister, I admire the job you're doing here but I think you're being wrong here. You don't know the full medical history of the patient and the real clinical picture as at the time this incident occurred. You can't just sit behind a computer and pass judgment without all the facts. It's not nice at all please. Stuffs like this might seem innocent but have far reaching consequences as the patient might decide to wrongly sue the doctors based on your short-sighted views. And in such a situation nobody wins, the doctor and patients spend money in a case that could drag on for years. Frustrations set it and the doctor can't understand why he or she is being persecuted for doing his job.

Let me play "devils" advocate here. This PPROM occurred at 19 weeks, more often than not in latest 2 weeks time 99% of cases will have gone into spontaneous labour. Delivering twins at say 21 weeks. At that you'll need a very sophisticated NICU to cater for the twins for months and months. Which is very very very expensive and most often such children born very premature have some forms of mental or physical disability. Infact I don't think there is any NICU in Nigeria capable of taking care of such premature babies. This is Nigeria ma'am not Canada.

In clinical practice, what we do is when such PPROM occurs at maybe 30 to 32 weeks, we try as much as possible to push it to 34 weeks when the fetal lungs will at least be ready with enough surfactant to breathe. This process is also sped up using steroid injections. We try to delay labour as much as possible using tocolytics. Even at that when we manage to push it to 34weeks its prayers that the neonatologists will be able to keep that baby alive. Sometimes with miracle they succeed other times they fail.

PPROM occurring at 19 weeks hasa very very very poor prognosis even in Developed countries. For you to say you know "MANY" women who have have live babies today with PPROM at 17-19 weeks I am 100% sure you exaggerated.

Hope you get what I've tried to clear up. This isn't an attack in anyway please. If it's taken as such, then I apologise in advance.
