cococandy:You see why I call you emotional? |
MaxInDHouse:Girlfriend is looking for admirers. I hope more people like you oh |
cornelboy:Why this topic is very important is because it is the foundation of all we believe. Christ said, this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. If you don't know who God is, how can you witness him. This makes you a false witness. We need to discover and witness all I do is to make you a true Jehovah witness. |
cococandy:You don't have to be this emotional. In Trump's first term, he sanctioned Russia harder than Obama ever did. He prevented Russia from completing it's biggest gas pipeline to Germany. Remember, it was your beloved Biden that okayed the completion of the pipeline. Trump constantly warned the EU about depending on Russian gas. They laughed at him and you all cheered. So stop being emotional and look at the facts. |
MaxInDHouse:Lol my little girl has many friends. The prom queen. Don't worry we will you will win the miss Nairaland competition since you think this is a popularity competition. On our path, we will continue to share the truth. It may not have many friends but it remains constant and unchangeable unlike you. |
MaxInDHouse: |
cornelboy:No problem, it's ok if you don't reply. The most important thing is that you now know the truth. You may accept it or not. Please share it with your other friends and members so that they too will understand. I do this with love , I am not necessarily looking for confrontation. Our job is to teach the truth. But it's up to you to accept it or not. |
MaxInDHouse:That's your business. All I know is that I will constantly oppose your falsehoods. |
MaxInDHouse:No, we agreed not to include our churches in the discussion. I will continue to expose your falsehood but you are free to ignore sir |
MaxInDHouse:Are you ok sir? |
MaxInDHouse:This is the reasoning of a duck. One Archangel is mentioned in the bible so it must be Jesus Christ. How did you come to such a conclusion? Please provide your reasoning steps. |
Janosky:I have replied to you in my earlier post but I continued to do more research. You recommended the writings of Bill Mounce so i did some reading and here are the thoughts of the scholar on the subject. This word is particularly challenging to translate, and Mounce provides valuable clarity. He helps to illuminate the idea that Jesus, although being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be exploited or selfishly retained. Essentially, that Jesus did not need to grasp at equality with God, because he already had it. Based on the information available, particularly regarding Bill Mounce's analysis of Philippians 2:6, it's clear that he supports the understanding that Jesus possessed equality with God. His reasoning stems primarily from his interpretation of the Greek text: "Morphē" (Form): Mounce emphasizes that "morphē" signifies the inherent nature of something. Therefore, when Philippians 2:6 states that Jesus was "in the form of God," it indicates that he possessed the very nature of God. This implies essential equality. "Harpagmos" (A Thing to Be Grasped): His interpretation of "harpagmos" is key. He clarifies that the verse doesn't mean Jesus was trying to seize equality, but rather that he already possessed it. Jesus did not consider his existing equality with God as something to be exploited. Contextual Understanding: Mounce's analysis is done within the context of the overall passage, which highlights Jesus's humility. This humility is shown by him, though being in the form of God, and having equality with God, that he emptied himself, and took on the form of a servant. This act of humility presupposes that he had something, equality with God, that he could give up. |
Janosky:Oga go and learn to speak English and express yourself . Now Jesus Christ has human form so what exactly is your point. He has a body of flesh and bones like a human. Now explain what the Greek word for Interlinear has to do with anything. You will just copy and paste like an illiterate. Oga how can we communicate if you choose not to make sense. Now like someone that went to school, explain where you believe I got the translation wrong. Which words did I get wrong and what are the correct words in their place. Again if you provide the words of one scholar and I provide the writing of another how do we decide who is wrong. Now, you asked me to verify. Below are the argument of Greek scholars. I bolded a section for you to read if you can't read the entire. So don't bring Greek scholars works to me if you don't understand them. Following this interpretation of harpagmon, scholars such as James D.G. Dunn and Oscar Cullman suggest the author may be drawing a parallel between Adam and Jesus, who in other Pauline literature is called the Last Adam. The first Adam was made in the "image of God" (Genesis 1:26) but sinned by trying to grasp equality with God (Genesis 3:5). In contrast, Jesus, also made in the image of God (Phil. 2:5) did not try to grasp equality with God, but instead, humbled himself in obedience to God. Dunn sees the hymn as an archetypal parallel to Genesis: "The Philippians hymn is an attempt to read the life and work of Christ through the grid of Adam theology... the hymn is the epochal significance of the Christ-event, as determinative for humankind as the 'event' of Adam's creation and fall... Christ by his life, death, and resurrection has so completely reversed the catastrophe of Adam, has done so by the acceptance of death by choice rather than as punishment, as has thus completed the role of dominion over all things originally intended for Adam... It was Adam who was 'in the form of God'... the language was used... to bring out that Adamic character of Christ's life, death, and resurrection. So archetypal was Jesus' work in its effect that it can be described in language appropriate to archetypal man and as a reversal of the archetypal sin." Although scholars remain divided on the question of the pre-existent Christ's equality with God, it is widely agreed by interpreters that the Christ poem depicts Jesus as equal to God after his resurrection . This is because the last two stanzas quote Isaiah 45:22–23:[50] ("Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess" , which in the original context clearly refers to God the Father.[42] Some scholars argue that Philippians 2:6–11 identifies Jesus with God from his pre-existence on the basis that allusions to Isaiah 45:22–23 are present all throughout the poem.[51]You brought up the Greek scholars argument so do you agree with majority of scholars that say Jesus was equal to God after his resurrection? |
maasoap:True |
cornelboy:I want to give you an answer that I believe will finally help you understand that Jesus Christ and his Father are one God. Let's begin with your very own beliefs. You believe that the Father of Jesus Christ is the God in the Old Testament right? If so, Let's build this discussion from there. Before then, remember we read in John 17 that the Father is the only one true God right? Keep that in mind as we go on. How many Saviors do we have? One or two? Isaiah 43:11I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me, there is no Saviour. Jude 25 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. 1 John 4:14 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. From reading these verses, how many Saviors do we have? If you say one, but then we see that in different instances, both the Father and the Son have been called our Saviour yet we believe that there is only one Saviour as the scripture teaches. We see both the Son and Father addressed by the Same title but the name or title is one. Let's take another example. Who is the First and the Last? Or do we have two First and the Last Isaiah 44:6: "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god. Isaiah 41:4: "Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, the first, and with the last; Revelation 1:17-18 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 21 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Again do we have 2 Firsts and Lasts, or 2 beginings? No, we don't. But we can see that everything the Father is, the Son becomes yet they remain one. Their name and Title are not split. Everything the Father has he gave to his Son and the Son will give to us Revelation 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Now we learn that the Father is God, and the Son is also God and they are one. Just like both Father and Son are the Saviour yet we have only one Saviour, both are the First and the Last, Both are Everlasting Father yet we have but one Saviour, So are both of them the one true God yet we worship and know one God. This is the message from the bible Here are other references to the Son taking up the Father's position/title and yet they remain one not two. Lord: Father: Deuteronomy 10:17 ("For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords..." ![]() Son: Philippians 2:11 ("and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." ![]() God: Father: John 17:3 ("And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." ![]() Son: John 1:1 ("In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." ![]() King: Father: 1 Timothy 1:17 ("To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen." ![]() Son: Revelation 19:16 ("On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords." ![]() Judge: Father: Psalm 94:2 ("Rise up, O Judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve!" ![]() Son: John 5:22 ("For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son..." ![]() Shepherd: Father: Psalm 23:1 ("The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." ![]() Son: John 10:11 ("I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." ![]() The Alpha and Omega/The beginning and the end: Father: Revelation 21:6 ("And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment." Son: Revelation 22:13 ("I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." ![]() So how come you don't see that both are the one true God? how come yu don't see that everything the father is the Son has become? I pasted every scriptural verse so you can understand it as you read. Ask questions If you have any. |
CoronaVirusPro:Trump did not throw anybody. He stopped giving them American Taxpayers money. He is not interested in paying for their wars. The moral of the story is to make hay while the sun shines. Zelensky's window closed after Biden left the white house |
immaculatesense:Ever heard of the Everlasting Father? |
Gabrielshow24:The entire JW religion was born out of dark rebellion. They rebelled against bible truths and now they accuse you. |
cornelboy:I just answered you because he was one with his Father, the Father gave him all his power and authority. He sits on his Father's throne. Because he is one with his Father, the Father is God and he also is God. And he promised his followers the very same blessings 2 Peter 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Revelation 21:7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. Have I answered your question with the bible? |
Gabrielshow24:If only he will correct his fault |
cornelboy:You have answered your questions now Jesus Christ relationship with his Father is nothing like husband and wife relationship. Let's look at what you quoted and see who the verse supports. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, Compare that to To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Jesus Christ was exalted to the Father's throne. His faithful followers will also be exalted to his throne. Now to the verse you quoted 1 Corinthians 8;5,6yet for us there is one God, the Father We are told that Jesus Christ is the everlasting Father. Isaiah 9:6 So if you say that the Father is God and Jesus Christ is the everlasting Father, what does that make Jesus Christ? Start believing in the verses you quoted. Let's look at one more verse. Philippians 2 from verse 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:oes that make Jesus Christ. We learn that Jesus Christ= God Not my words but from the scriptures. So we learn that Jesus Christ is= to God He has the Form of God He sits on the throne of God. He is Almighty (having complete power; omnipotent) Matthew 28:18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. He is the Father Isaiah 9.6 With all these, isn't it crystal clear that he is God? Let me explain your entire argument in one sentence. You are saying that Jesus Christ is not God but still he is God. You see how weak your premise is? If you said that Jesus Christ is God but he has a Father who is also God and because they are one, they are one God, then no one will fault you. Let me borrow your husband and wife analogy. If I am John , when I marry, my wife takes up my name. She becomes Mrs John. Not so. Even your husband wife analogy is enough to explain how Jesus Christ and his Father are one (God) |
Note, Jesus Christ is equal to God according to the bible. Philippians 2 from verse 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: |
Philippians 2:6-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: What do we learn, That Christ had the form of God and Christ is = God. Yet he humbled himself and took the form of a servant and was made like unto man. I guess this verse answers the question about if Christ is = to God. |
Janosky:Ok let me open my heart to see it any of these verses talk about Jesus Christ being an angel Infact, let me humble myself and paste the verses here. Psalm 103:20 20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. This verse talks about the Lord and his angels. Or better, Jesus Christ and his angels. It did not call him an angel. Neither did it state that anymore that obeys Him is an angel. John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. This verse also has nothing to do with angels He says if you love him, you keep his commands and he testified that the Father sent him, just as the Father sent Jeremiah and John the Baptist, it doesn't make them angels. So please tell me what I missed out and don't divert please |
Zaheertyler:Also note that Jesus Christ is the God of the old testament. Zechariah 12:10 "And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son." Who was speaking here? It was Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament. |
MaxInDHouse:For a better illustration. A Nigerian science teacher says Chinese science teachers are teaching rubbish, and an argument begins. How would it be settled? It will not be settled even if the Nigerian teacher begins to mention all the great science institutes in the country. It will only be settled when they all go back to the agreed laws of science. If the Nigerian teacher mentions top science schools, the Chinese teacher can equally say they are are teaching nonsense. But if the Nigerian teacher talks about the laws that both agree to be scientific, gravity, motion, theories like relativity and evolution, then the debate can make sense. Then he will be able to point out how the Chinese have diverted. Boasting about top Nigerian science institutes will be both foolish and unprofitable. |
Gabrielshow24:They are not foolish, it's a tactics and these thugs have perfected the act. But what can one do? |
Janosky:You started by saying I am wrong then you went on to quote verses that has nothing to do with the topic. I guess you mistook me for another person. Let me take you back to our discussion. I told you that the bible never called Jesus Christ an angel of God. And I was hoping you will present one verse where it did instead you showed me a verse where David was Blessing God and his angels. That is cheap nah. Now return back to the discussion bro. |
Janosky:Yes, Jesus Christ has a Father. But is he's also a Father. He is the everlasting Father. Who are his Children? Jesus Christ and his Father are not in competition. It was the Father that freely gave him all power and authority. This also teaches us that Jesus Christ is Almighty. Now most people don't know the meaning of Almighty. It means having complete power; omnipotent. Matthew 28.18 Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. So we see that Jesus Christ is also Almighty According to the scriptures. This clearly shows that he and his Father are one, sharing the same power, throne and authority. |
cornelboy:My guy you don't know how excited you've made me. |
cornelboy:Jesus Christ did not marry his father so it's not the same or even close. Now you have stated that Jesus Christ is a God but yet you say he is not God. Let's talk about his disciples for a minute. Does Jesus Christ want his disciples to be like him and his Father? And in what ways? Let's examine one verse. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. So yes, he will share his Throne (his dominion and Power) with them. They will truly be one with him just as he is one with the Father and shares the Throne with his Father. Everything the Father has will be given to them. They also acquire the Godly nature. According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Do you see that it is much deeper than the husband and wife example? The faithful are given all things pertain unto life and godliness, If everything pertaining to godliness is given to you, and you receive the godly nature, what does that make you sir. |
cornelboy:Yea I read your response. I am actually excited that an entire organization has a special manual for me. It's an honor. As I said, I must be doing something right my brother. |
