Michael547:Because Christians follow the commandments of Jesus Christ. Because Christianity is a journey. But then since you say they were not Christians, then why did the brethren call them disciples? |
Michael547:Because they needed to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to receive the Holy Ghost. But my question remains, were they Christians or not before they were re-baptized? Answer very carefully. |
Oga I never said you should give the list of the isrealites that were born again. You claimed that Apostle Paul said that the isrealites were baptized and therefore they are born again as people are born again today. Please show me where I made this claim. Paul clearly stated that the isrealites were baptized into Moses. So how are they born again as people are born again today?[ In Acts 19, the disciples who where baptized unto John, where they Christians or not? |
Michael547:Jesus Christ never said it was only them and he also did not give us a list of everyone that would make his kingdom so this your question is not making sense. If the prophets were born again as people are born again today, why are you interested in me giving you the list of born again Israelis. Please what is your point? Your question is so foolish that I don't even know how to answer it. It's just like I walk into a church and you ask me to give you the list of everyone who is born again. Does that make any sense? |
Michael547:We keep going round in circles. Jesus Christ said. John 3.5 Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. The same Jesus Christ said Luke 13:28 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. In John 3.5 Jesus Christ gave you the condition for entry to the kingdom of God and in Luke 13.28, he gave you a list of people who fulfilled the condition. Why can't you believe him. Or is there any evidence bigger than this. So when you ask how I know Abraham was baptized, the answer is because he is qualified to enter the kingdom of God. QED Unlike you, I know Jesus Christ doesn't lie. |
Michael547:Jesus Christ already told you and I have pointed you to it like a thousand times, the only question is oga do you believe Jesus Christ or do you believe your pastor? Choose one |
Michael547:But Jesus Christ already told you how to become born again. Be baptized and received the Holy Ghost. |
Michael547:No it's not. That's why I specified. Let's take Abraham as an example. Are you asking how I know that Abraham is born again? |
Michael547:You mean People like Abraham? |
Michael547:So it's impossible for me to tell you that everyone in Israel was born again especially because the bible makes us know that they were very disobedient. But we can both agree that All the prophets were born again. It's just like asking me if everyone in a church is born again. Just because they all followed Moses across the red sea doesn't make them born again. So again I ask, what is your point? |
Michael547:So what is your point? Did Moses baptize Abraham? Did he baptize David? What is your point. |
MaxInDHouse:What is your question sir. Or what do you disagree with in my response. Haba someone should save me. Please what don't you understand. Where do you need more explanation. |
MaxInDHouse:Good so even if they can't define butterfly stroke when asked as long as they can do it, they are good to go right? That's what I have been saying all night. Please what have I said that you disagree with? |
MaxInDHouse:Wait oga what are you talking about. Jesus Christ did not break the process. He said be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. You don't do one and live out the other. Whenever the apostles of Christ saw people who where baptized and not given the Holy Ghost, they immediately corrected it. Anyway minus that we are basically saying the same thing. What is it that I have been saying that you disagree with Biko. |
MaxInDHouse:Yes she can't define the word. If you asked her in an exam she would fail it. |
MaxInDHouse:Ok we are going back in circles. I already explained to you that you can learn something without learning what it is called. I can go to a village and teach the kids the butterfly stroke in swimming but just because they don't know it's called butterfly stroke doesn't mean they don't know how to do it. I am not the one getting irritated. You have asked this question 10 time. Please go straight to your point. |
MaxInDHouse:I don't understand your question. What really is it that you want to know. Come out openly |
MaxInDHouse:Does God force you under the water and force his spirit on you if you would not receive it? Jesus Christ told you the qualifications to enter the kingdom of God. It's up to you to go to someone who would baptize you and someone who would give you the spirit. It's very practical. |
MaxInDHouse:You have answered your question. Congrats. So my grandma may be Born again and know what it means to be born again without being able to define the phase right? That's all I have been saying all night. So you could ask her, are you born again and she may not be able to answer but if you ask if she had been baptized and received the Holy Ghost, she would say yes. |
MaxInDHouse:I thought you said a Christian are those who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. He taught you to be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Do what is your point? |
Someone must have PREACHED and TAUGHT her before she knew it's importance so they never taught her anything about BORN AGAIN that's why she doesn't know. So you finally get my point. Now does that make her any less of a Christian than the person who can define the phase Born again? You are slowly coming around. |
MaxInDHouse:That's my point that even things that happen to everyone naturally, you may perfectly understand it since it happens to you but you may not know the term unless you are taught. My grandma was taught to believe in Christ, she was baptized and received the Spirit but your point is that because she may not be able to define the phase Born again means she was not a Christian. How does that make sense to you. I even praised you as the smarter one. |
So how does an isrealite in the law covenant becomes born again? The very same way people get born again today Kindly read Acts 1:5, 13 to get information about Peter James and John. Ok |
MaxInDHouse:My grandma knows it's important to get baptized but she doesn't know the word Born Again. Please stop being this slow. Even your partner has got it and moved on |
MaxInDHouse:Now that you have returned, I hope you find the courage to answer my questions in your other thread. I hope you wouldn't change your mind again when I start hitting with questions ![]() |
MaxInDHouse:So if a boy doesn't know the word masturbation does it mean he doesn't know he masturbates? If a girl has never heard the word Virgin does it mean she would not know when she is no longer a virgin. You guys have finished all your serious questioning and it's now time for child's play? Please let's get serious. |
MaxInDHouse:Again you seem slow here but I will help you. You can believe in Christ, be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost without knowing the word "Born again" Being able to define the word born again is not a qualification of Christianity. Please tell me you understand now. |
MaxInDHouse:No please apply your understanding. She is born again but doesn't know the meaning of the phase "Born again" You ran away but came back to ask questions. Anyway I am not like you. I will continue to answer your question and teach you. |
If Nicodemus was sure that he was a confirmed born again as an isrealite, How come he was ignorant about it and needed to be told about what born again entails. Being from Israel doesn't make you automatically Born again and I never said Nicodemus or all of Israel were born again. Kindly show us where the faithful men of old were baptized into Christ and also baptized with the holy spirit to be born again? Foolish question. Kindly show where Peter, James and John were baptized. The bible only has record of the baptism of 3 specific people Are you saying that it was only Jesus, Paul and the Ethiopian eunuch that was baptized in the bible? No I am saying that they are the only people in the entire bible, old and new testament who's baptism was recorded. Kindly read Acts 1:5, 13 to see if what you said about Peter James and John is true. You are right here but still the bible is not about keeping the record of everyone that had ever been baptist or don't you agree? |
MaxInDHouse:My grandma is baptized she believes in Jesus Christ but she may not be the best person to explain the concept of being Born again. And welcome back Mr MaxInDHouse |
Can one be born again and not know that he is born again? No but one can be born again without knowing the meaning of the word "Born Again" Can you kindly show us where Paul said that the isrealites and faithful men of old were baptized with water in christ and were baptized with the Holy spirit just as Jesus followers were baptized with water as stated in John 4:1 and with Holy Spirit as stated in Acts 1:5? I never said any of the things you asked to show you. But I can show you that there was baptism in the days of old and people had the Holy Ghost in days of old. Does that answer your question? Meanwhile your Bible only gives details of 3 baptisms, Jesus Christ, Paul and the Ethiopian eunuch. So according to your logic, their 8s no evidence of the baptism of Peter, James or John
|
Michael547:The second part of your question is meaningless for the following reasons. 1. Even teachers don't know everything. 2. The phase born again could be entirely new to him but the principles of baptism was clearly not new to the people of Israel. Paul reminded us of the baptism at the red sea and the idea of the Holy Spirit was also not new, please read your old testament. For the first part of your question, it means baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost |
