Fidha254: Its not just Kenya that is in Somalia you know. Kenyan troops are stretched thin in that sector 2 numbering 3.600.. Look where Eladde is, that's the location Kenyan camps was attacked, that's not even a Kenyan sector under Amisom mandate, Ethiopia has been slowly withdrawing its troops to deal with home issues forcing KDF to stretch its troops futhure in order to protect herself.. This has resulted in having to deploy extra troops that are not part of Amisom inside Somalia.
I think right now what Somali needs the most is massive training of SNA by different countries so that somalians themleves can take over...the pace of traing somali troops is too slow...Amisom should not still be doing protectioning of captured areas, there only mission should be offensive leaving defending to SNA. All the firepower that KDF is acquiring will only be utilised under sector 2, what about the rest of the sectors?
UGANDA= SU30 ETHIOPIA= SU27
Has any of these countries used her power in somalia?
lionel4power: [s]The problem with guys like you ass.li.ckers is that you do not reason like people who are mentally sound, you always take my bait and jump into senseless unnecessary attack which to be frank makes me question your mental soundness. You should be wiser. Defending Nigeria inadequacy here on nairaland ferociously doesnt make your life better than mine in real life.
have you checked the specification of the L39 before responding? because if you have the you wont say this thrash.
This post is the most st.upi.d of all because number 1 it makes no sense just useless blabbing, i was talking about a trainer not being sufficient and you are here mentioning USA, RUSSIA, F-22. Have you EVER EVER see me recommending any jet for the NAF?? The fact is that if you look deep you'll see who the reta.rd,ed disturbed soul is. You make me pity Nigeria more.
Now here is what i wrote read it and understand expecially the bolded. If you still see it as an attack against Nigeria then you seriously need to verify your mental stability.
PS: Check the pictures attached below and see your f0olishness.[/s]
Show us real pictures and not some graphic designed shit. Those load will affect the aerodynamic performance of an aircraft.
newafricaken254: Al Shabaab overtook Boko Haram as Africa’s most deadly terror group in 2016
You now have a good attack helicopter. Do you guys have dedicated ISR platforms? If yes, you guys can now start intense offensive with air attack. The Nigerian airforce has been of huge importance in the war against BHT.
It was gathered that the remaining 100 owners of private jets in the country spend between $500,000 to $1 million to maintain their jets annually, translating to N30.5 billion.
Maintaining a private jet with 300 million naira yearly depends on the type of maintenance you are talking about. Most cost should go to hanger and airport tax etc.
“I can confirm to you that we are now very close allies to the Nigerian Armed Forces in the fight against Boko Haram.” He disclosed that France is ready to sell ammunitions to the Nigerian Armed Forces, saying “We have no restrictions on that, we can sell any kind of equipment to the Nigerian government without any restrictions.”
newafricaken254: .before tinfoil start posting alshabaab propaganda, yesterday alshabaab released a propaganda video .which featured the battle of Kulbiyow, it basically showed we have a force that is a failure and full of deception(only God protect us)
Don't blame the force. The guys did their best, military personnel are also human. Let blame our governments as they lack foresight.
At times I feel there's someone making money in this war against terrorism.
tommorow I won't be surprise if you being comparing an A-jet to a Su-25 after all dey all offer CAS
Alpha jet - Light attack aircraft and an advanced trainer. F-7 - Fighter interceptor.
L39- High performance trainer.
NAF video shows only A-jets and F-7 in combats. The L39 being armed is an advantage as it makes it easy to deploy aircrafts when some are not available.
MiddleDimension: whats u with the twin seater? How is it better than the single seater? American fighters are never twin seaters, yet they are rated very highly. For me, a single seater would be better, as fewer service men would be expended in war.
And what block are we getting? I would prefer the blockII and III. The ones with twin tails.
US operates twin seater aircrafts such as the F/18 E/F.
I actually prefer the single seat version too. Since Nigeria wants a large amount of the jf17, I guess the double seat variants will be used to train some pilots in Nigeria.
About the block we're getting, I think block 2. Block 3 is still in development.
What I want is one squadron of J10 and one squadron of j17. I love that J-10 so much.
SSBN: 40 units? Are you kidding me? Two squadrons of the JF-17 were ordered...thats barely 24 plus 3 trainers. Also you gotta realise we stuck to the Alpha jets and F-7's because it was a familiar platform for pilots. Who is gonna fly the planes? It takes at the very least 14 months to train ONE pilots to fly a 4th Gen pilots. If you think you can built 30 new Jf-17's and assemble 3 suadrons of qualified pilot under a year or two...then i dont know what to tell you.
I don't know how it works with military jets bit nemesis2u once said since Nigeria is waiting for the twin seater, it's possible they're currently bring trained with Pakistan F16. He however made mention of Pakistan having limited amount and won't want to strain the aircrafts.
I know a NAF pilot in training in the US, who flies F16. So I guess they should be familiar with the platform already.
MiddleDimension: are planes ships? Why should it take too long to build these planes? I was told that to get a new 34, it will only take about 2months. Why should a less sophisticated 17 take more time to build? So to get all 40 units of the 17, we have to wait for 40 years? And i really hope the NAF leadership is still thinking about getting us some of the Sukhoi series?
Nigeria is waiting for the twin seater version. It just finished trials few weeks ago. I guess that's the issue. I doubt manufacturing a SU -34 will be 2 months.
jteku: Whatz the source of this list, because this can be typed even from a business center............I can't even see BTR4 in front lines or were they delivered and kept straight in storage.
It was released around 2015 by PDP when they said GEJ didn't buy any weapon.
kabe1: You always seem to be lost and totally out of sync with reality.
No wonder Henry always comes on you hard.
He knows nothing about armament and aircraft. He's just a fanboy. The Nigerian l39 and A-Jets carry have carried out bombardment with bombs over 250kg and he's here saying a trainer can only carry 250KG bombs.
There are more things but it's not just worth it. You can see his list on best fighter jets in Africa.
lionel4power: somebody posted Libyan Mig-23 being fitted with bombs while somebody else thought it would be okay to post Nigerian L39 trainer being fitted with bombs too ON THE SAME PAGE.
Mpanyi: Instead of some people blaming SARS, they are blaming people for confronting SARS who they call bad names at the same time. It's hard to understand how an average Nigerian psyche works.
Mr, try this Shiit in a developed country and the police will put some rounds in your head.
During a search and stop in US, put your hand in your pocket alone without being asked to and some rounds will be in your head.
That's a damn self defence. A US police shot a military guy when he tried to bring out his ID from his pocket .
