With all due respect, i would suggest you dont make universal statements based on assumptions, how can you say all over the world, let take the United states as a case study here, it might interest you to know that no member of the Armed forces holds an ounce of power within the united states, infact the director of the FBI has more power than the chief of the Army within the United states, out side the united states the Navy, Airforce and the Marine wield much more power than Army, you can never hear a United state president boast of the strength of his army, because America hardly puts foots on the ground even when they do so they use the Navy seals. Surface to say the Chief of Army staff in the United states has at least 10 other generals who share the same rank with him, you would always hear things like commander of the pacific region, Nato Commander etc.

To the question, the Chief of defense staff wields more power than the chief of Army staff can ever think of having based on the fact that the Army/military runs on a chain of command, although in reality both of them are simply ceremonial positions as they are appointees of the government who inturn report to the National security Adviser, in the US the NSA is the alpha and omega of the nations security/millitary concerns, followed closely by the director of the CIA and FBI, the armed forces just carries out operational roles.

Nigerian military is a formidable force with the navy being the most aggressive, dangerous and most equipped of all three. The most lethal unit in the Nigerian military is the navy SBS. These guys conduct Air/Sea/land missions.

The Nigerian AFSF guys are the next in line. These guys are being trained by Russian FSB and some by Israeli.

Mr, the Nigerian military has been more effective since Buhari came in. Not because he did something better but because uncle Sam sells him weapon. Ex uncle Sam didn't sell GEJ military hardware. The issue should be Nigeria developing a capable defence industry and stop relying on some military hardware from other countries.

Facts remains most Nigerians know less about the capability of their country militarily.

I hope you know some troops are under the ONSA? the CDS can use them whenever he wants. The men of the Nigerian Armed Forces special Force (AFSF) those guys won't answer to the COAS during emergency.

They're being funded by ONSA.

Whatever order the COAS gives passes through the CDS desk. The COAS reports to the CDS.

You just typed Bullshit. The CDS is a military man and a 4 Star general while the COAS is a lieutenant General. The CDS by his rank alone has power to mobilize guys from the Army and by his position as the CDS can mobilize from any of the Armed forces.

To you all saying the CDS cannot mobilize a unit from the army, I hope you know the most feared unit of the Nigerian armed forces after the Navy SBS is the AFSF (comprises of men from the Navy, Airforce, and Army) which is under the ONSA. These guys will answer to the CDS during an emergency as they are being funded by the ONSA.

Last year, the cut-off mark for U.I medicine was 76.76 and not 71 as you opine above. Unilag placed theirs at 80 points. The two schools used the 50/50 idea. But then, I agree with your submission. It's better to be sure of one's aggregate now and then take the right step

Thank you for the correction. The bolded is what I am trying to explain. Some people already feel they have an automatic admission due to their high score in jamb.

Getting admitted as a science student will be very competitive this year except the candidate has a good O'level result.

I have seen alot of students with 280-330. Most universities divide Jamb by 8 which means 320/8=40 points. However, most students do not have a strong o'level. Most of the candidates O'LEVEL points will fall into 30 with few having 30-40 points.

This means 40+30=70 points. You should also know most of these guys got less than 320 in jamb. Most are withing the range of 280-304 . So 304/8= 38 points. With total being 68.

What I'm trying to say is most of the science students results are of high score and at the same time this is a big hinderance for them to secure admission as most of them already have a weak waec result. The jamb only compliments their waec which is an advantage to boost their aggregate.

The big issue now is admission. Last year UI medicine and surgery was 71 points with around 170 students to be admitted.. Over 3,000 applicants applied to study at UI and a minimum of 350 applied to study medicine and surgery. Out of the 350, 100 won't meet the cutoff and the remaining students amount to 250.

Now 250 students made the cut or but only 170 are to be admitted. 100 as merit and 70 as cachement. Now the student best bet is to be among the top 100..

Cut off is 71 and a student has 73 while 60 students have 73.4-75 while the rest have 75-75. Now this is what no one likes.

Advice, calculate your aggregate and be sure you're meeting up with cut off or probably apply for change or course to a course where you can cross back to your preferred course
