He didn't have any more ammo, my bet would be less than 15. He's not carrying anything extra. He's not even wearing protection or tactical gear and for that I would blame his employer.

Leaving his cover was an instict because he knew they'll come for it while he was out, I personally wouldn't judge him for that.. Good training is not useful if he doesn't have the right tools for the job.
He had the right tools. He was well armed. He's on mufti due to where he was being deployed. His uniform will make him an easy target

He's on mufti because of some reasons, I guess he's off duty already. His trousers isn't that of his uniform meaning he's ready to go home.

In my class we have got just 6 females. They're very fascinating and really brilliant. What I have noticed is they're very good at a particular aspect.

Thumbs up to them.

When it comes to practical, they're very innovative. I prefer having at least a lady on my team during live practical because they are always ready to work and this serves as a challenge.

The duo in the letter to the US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, cited the killing of Shi’ites by the army in early 2015 and the accidental bombing of an IDP camp as reasons why the aircrafts should not be sold to Nigeria
The United States Air force has bombed civilians locations twice after the Nigerian incident. Dumb people

FG should just channel the money into procuring better planes than those Tucanos.

That technic of going to side....used by the armed robber is a classic military technic .....just that it was badly executed, the police would have survived if he maintained his cover, also how fast can he change his magazine and had extra magazines or side arms. .....also those are the 7.62 rounds, can those blocks have stopped the charging rounds; I suggest bank security posts be rebuilt with built proof materials. ...and security post with cctv observation post and armed men....
Yes, he should have maintained cover. He was in position to take out most of the robbers. However, he was alone and his mind probably told him to bail out and pick cover. Using suppressive firing when alone against over 4 armed robbers is a bad idea.
Who will cover him when he's about to change his ammo? He could have observed well before firing the first shot.

Those guys that went for the money should have been his first target. Calculating well, you can always out 3 guys fast unaware with a ak47.

Before those guys in the car react, get yourself ready. You're in cover already. They'll either abandon mission with 3 men dead. (Remember 3 police were killed, if he has killed those 3 first, the other officers would have engaged the driver and their leader)

Dad is the police and he will always say calculation isn't in mathematics alone. Forget about your feeling if you'll die, you'll die so try your best to survive by doing the right thing.

Video footage of owerri bank robbery February 2017

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o_fu8oiZzQ
The issue is that in Nigerian banks, police stay outside bank premises making it easy for robbers to launch attack on them before going for their target.

3 police were killed because it was easy for the robbers to target them on sight but it's not something easy for a police officer who wasn't expecting such.

I expect banks to have a place where police stay inside the building (give them access to CCTV) then they can counter the robbers with zero or no casualty. Keeping them outside makes them vulnerable to ambush.

That nigga is a fool, trying to breach a closed corner like that? I just hope that officer wasn't among those killed. He really tried .

In a deal reportedly worth close to $2 billion, India is set to acquire a second AKULA 2 nuclear-powered attack submarine from Russia.

According to Alexei Nikolski, a columnist with the reputed Russian daily Vedomosti, "According to a source in the Russian defence industry, the long discussed lease to transfer a multipurpose Project 971 nuclear submarine to India from the Russian Navy was signed in Goa."

The Indian Navy already operates an AKULA 2 class nuclear submarine, INS Chakra (formerly known as K-152 Nerpa), which was leased from Russia and commissioned on April 4, 2012 after India paid for its completion and sea-trials.

construction is progressing well with India's locally developed and constructed nuclear attack submarine (SSN) speculated to be based on Project 885 Yasen Class nuclear attack submarine, the newest class of submarine to enter Russia's arsenal or French Barracuda class nuclear attack submarine or a combination of the both.

When l read about modern (state of the art) infrastructures being built in far more poorer countries, l ve no choice than to weep for Nigeria
Kenya isn't a poor country. Kenya is East Africa biggest economy. The issue with NIGERIA is our leaders lack foresight and when they do something big, it's to earn publicity. Yeah and that publicity is what we give them.

Kenya is akso being affected by poor leadership while Nigeria thinks the level of her current development is enough for it's citizens.

The government generates billions in revenue and spends penny on infrastructure. Politicians are the biggest buisness men, they know how to target their audience well and hit well. They generate 200billion naira and then spend 2billion naira (100mill to repair roads, 200 million to create jobs we don't see and ready on 3-4 infrastructure in strategic locations in the country).

After this, the mass comes out to shout the government is working oooo. Now tell me where's the remaining 198 billion?

The truth remains African leaders lack foresight.

God bless Nigeria.
God bless our president too.

MI-17 terminators assault helicopters and any modern armed scout helicopter. I don't see why the army should get a "dedicated" attack helicopter.

There is no rational reason for such a purchase in my opinion. The Air Force already flies Attack Helicopters, why would the army also need them?

No Sir, this is not a well thought out helicopter. Instead of this, the army whenever they are ready should go for armed LUH instead.

The NIgerian Army has established the aviation corps, COAS, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai " We have compiled list of platforms from Russia, American & China origin including simulators & UAVs" "One project that is dear to me is the take off of the Nigerian Army Aviation (corps)..."
Platforms considered :
-Mi-17 (due to its ruggedness, operanility & multirole capability) I personnaly want it because the Air force is using it as well
-Roivavk AH (after witnessing a demonstration in SA on the platforms and its employability) for me yes if maintenance is done at home
-H125 helicopter. For me is the best light utility heli, my only problem with it everybody know...

Let's go my "juju" brother what do you think will best for NA, and choices that they will do

Trust me we will never go for the Rooivalk. The army will go for platforms from China or Russia.

Its simply because there's no procurement policies involved, thats why i keep saying i don't think there's a clear master plan in place for our military. To be frank anybody can buy whatever they feel like and dump. I pity the the NA for the day they'll need the spares for all those numerous armored vehicles in their inventory.

Whenever the military does any display all you'll see is just mismatched random systems everywhere with little or no similarity. I keep wondering if they think winning wars is about having a trillion different platforms. two MRAP type is enough, two APC type is enough, Two MBT type is enough, two IFV type is enough its simple common sense, Any way thats Nigeria for you.
I still prefer having numerous aircrafts but we keep having numerous types of what we can produce in Nigeria. Let NA put up for 50 Units of ARA and you'll see Proforce increase production pace.

Countries already expressing interest on the Armata are China, India, and Algeria.
Russia says export will begin in 2020
And you guys with your "juju of the futur" that never works, tanks Nigeria need tanks more than ever. We all now the moment the T-72 came the war against Boko Haram (that no one predicted ) had change. The Armata is build for the two convetional and unconventional warfare. It will save money to have 2 in 1. Everybody is going for multirole platform it is more cheaper to have something that makes many stuff alone.
Why the Armata because our soldier will be safe, more safe than in a T 90, they will be more motivated.
Like I said Armata is build for almost every scenario, more protection against ATGM, making it very obsolete.
For the export thing Russia will be more than willing if we have a good deal with them. I study geopolitics, and I can tell you with confidence Russia has everything to win and are more than willing to be close friends with us. I can back up evrrything I say with sources. It will take time and we are going to go off topic...
Russia will sell if you are ready to buy. The problem is our government. Are we willing to order for a minimum of 10? That's 37 million USD
The navy needs things, the Airforce too.

There was a time we had enough money but lack leaders with foresight.

no 1) the F-15 is on another class on its own and in no way related to our discussuion.
no 20 The Alpha jet can carry about 2500kg of external payload which includes drop tank. a drop tank can weigh about 450L drop tank with 359kg. Alpha jet can either carry two droptank plus two rocket pod or two 250kg bomb plus two rocket pod.

But it can NEVER carry droptank, bombs and rocket pod at the same time.. The picture below would explain better.
Common, NAF doesn't need to carry a drop tank every time. Drop tanks depends on the mission profile. All hardpoints will be fitted with Bombs when you need to strike a target 10 minutes away.
There is a video on NAF page where a single alpha jet and F-7 struck BHT location. The A-jet started with bombs then rocket. This means you don't know what you are saying.
The A jet obviously went airborne with 2 bombs and 2 rocket pods.
