Thanks everyone for your input. I appreciate. I viewed my application this afternoon to see that it has been changed to PhD by my supervisor. So official I'm now a PhD applicant. To the prayer warriors in the house, I plead with you all to remember me in your prayers. Though it's not an easy task but with God all things are possible. He said he'll make a way for us in the wilderness. I strongly believe in him to make a way for me in the wilderness. Thank you all for your inputs. Your words have really encouraged me. In Igbo land, it is said when your father ask you to beat someone, you go with all boldness. I will embrace it with all boldness, determination and God willing, I will conquer it. Thanks all. |
Holudarey01:Thanks bro, how the hussle. Any offer from your schools yet. |
Badgers14:Thank you bro. |
toprealman:Okay I appreciate. Even the MSc.E I applied for is full funded. So I'm not looking at funding as an issue here. That's why I didn't put anything relating to money in my post. Thanks All the same. |
Lawlan:Okay. Thanks |
Kivaro:I appreciate bro. Thanks |

I appreciate Finally, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has taken out time in his/her busy schedule to advise me. I appreciate all your inputs. Thanks Thanks and Thanks |
GeneralSnipper:Yea. Thanks |
GeneralSnipper:Waiting for admission letter. I applied for MSc.E but my supervisor said I should reapply for PhD. So I'll start that tomorrow. |
Please moderator, please help me move this topic to the front thread. I need advice. Please |
igraman:Bro I appreciate. My interest in a PhD isn't to be lecturer now. My research is industrial based and applicable to government related issues in terms of making policies. Job prospects, I'm looking at IEA, IAEA and the likes. That's my plan and before now I wanted to take it one step at a time before this offer came in this afternoon and I need to reply tomorrow. |
mrking3:I appreciate your input bro. I think academically my supervisor knows a talent when he sees one. The guy is a professor emeritus. I think he's seeing what I'm not seeing yet. Don't you think someone can help you discover your destiny looking at your background. Talking about skipping MSc, I have a lot friends that have done it n came out successfully. My fear is i changed from Chemistry to Chemical Engineering and now about to skip MSc to PHD in Chemical Engineering. If it had been in Chemistry I for no bother. Don't say I'm confused cos I know what I want, in MSc I would be very comfortable and excel without fear but PhD, i don’t know what lies ahead for me. That's why I need advice from people who have schooled abroad. Thanks |
jonath0012:Okay bro. Thanks. I appreciate |
DrOladipo:Thanks doc. I appreciate your input. |
Baba seun please help a brother. |
Please oga se.un help me push to the front thread cos I need to reply this mail today. I have a B.Sc Industrial Chemistry ( 4.01/5), Pgd Chemical Engineering ( Distinction ). I applied for a Canadian admission for MSc.E Chemical Engineering. Normally for your admission to be successful you need to secure a supervisor whose research interest is similar to yours. I have done that and he encouraged me to apply. I submitted my application and after going through my application with other supporting documents like letter of motivation and others, he sent me a mail this afternoon that they want to consider me PhD instead of MSc I applied for. I'm very confused right now if to accept it or not considering high standard of education abroad as I use to hear, I haven't experienced foreign education before, this is my first. Please note my ultimate goal is to obtain a PhD. Please help me push to the front thread cos I need advice from experienced Nigerians who have studied abroad. Thanks. I appreciate |

GboyegaD:Brotherly, I remember your moniker from Canada thread. Me don even secure funding sef. Supervisor de lure me for PhD. |
Personally speaking, I will say both of us are in same situation. Unilag, First class, oil company job but bro with how bored work is, I'm janding oh. It's quite tough securing admission in canada if you know what I'm talking of, especially the one that comes with funding cos you have to get a supervisor who has same research interest with yours. Luckily, I have one now n it's coming with funding. Hopefully, if I get my admission letter b4 this month runs out cos my supervisor just forwarded my name to admission committee and has recommended me for MSc to PHD direct in his group, I'm leaving this country bro. You know how the industry is right now and how the future of this country is going. I hope it gets better soon but presently now, I don’t want my kids anywhere close to this country for now (my personal opinion and desire). However, if you really want to be on top your game n be an authority in your field n have the desire to further till PHD, i think you should kill your fears and move on. Good things lies ahead. IMO. |
AgreatMan:After the long wait, my file went to the department on 21st of April, since then if I call the response I get is that i should be patient cos they're yet to hear from the department. They don't respond to my emails. Takes them 2wks b4 I get a response from any email. However, is it advisable to ask them to shift it to Fall cos from the look of things now, summer starts from next month and I don't think I can meet up with the visa issues. Or should I wait after I must have been admitted then I'll differ to fall. Which is better? |
AgreatMan:Bros, please how long did it take you to get a response from Tamuk. I have been waiting to hear from them for more than a month now, yet no response. They kept on saying I should be patient. I applied for summer admission MSc. Chemical Engineering. Please, what do you advice I should do. Thanks |
GeneralSnipper:I'm going to UNB. What's up with you. |
pampem:I'm going to UNB. MSc.E Chemical Engineering. What of you. |
Hi Everyone, Please is there anyone in University of New Brunswick? Does anyone know if there's funding for their research programs like MSc and PhD. Thanks Please help a brother #Mizbaby #hayqinsbfx #Bamz #Nadia94 |
KELVIN086:Which card were you using before now. Normally, I use Mastercard for all foreign transactions and it has been working for me. I use Visa, Mastercard, and paypal definitely one must go through. Maybe next time you think of having them all. I have never had an issue with payment because definitely one must go through. |
KELVIN086:If they request your credit card info, then you have to enter your debit card details. The debit card can stand as your credit card, make sure you enter the 3 digit number at the back of your card, the numbers in front of your card, and expiry date . I think this will help. |
KELVIN086:Yes. Through my PayPal account. Open a PayPal account, link your debit card then you are good to go. |
aishate:Wow congrats. Please did you contact a supervisor before applying and also is it MASc or MEng. Thanks |
aishate:Yea. Still waiting for my offer letter from McMaster. What of you. Are you going to McMaster as well? Have you received an offer? What course are you going for? |
Onyeoma3:I'm very pleased that we're in same department. Please is your official name Ikenna? Yea, i think that's what it'll lead to deferring to winter cos she said if It's not possible this fall then winter or summer whichever one that works out. I'll need your help with regards to securing a supervisor because the one's I mailed said they're already full that I should keep on trying. Laurie said even though it is necessary, i don't need to secure one b4 applying. I know it's needful to secure a supervisor before applying in order to fast track my admission. Due to the fact that it's a system you're into please can you help with list of supervisors you think I can speak with? . I have spoken to some of them n yet no positive response, the likes of li, guay, etc. I saw your comment about anyone who wants control options should contact you, how about that? Is it still open? These are my options process system engineering, fuel cell, and environmental. Please who do you think I should speak to that can give me a positive response. Thanks |
Onyeoma3:Bro, i greet o. I'm applying to Queens University for Fall 2016 even though i submitted my application late that was yesterday. I did that because Laurie Philips encouraged me to. I'm applying for MSc Chemical Engineering (option Process system engineering). My stands are BSc Industrial Chemistry (4.01/5) and last 2yrs of BSc is 4.375/5; Pgd Chemical Engineering (4.48/5). Please what's my stand and when do you think i would hear from them? Please are you in queens and what department are you in. Thanks |
Fablady:Wow Fablady what's up. I remember you from the Canada's thread. How is it going with you. Are you in the states now? Did you try contacting them at Alberta again. For mua still waiting for my admission offers from US n Canada. Good to know you are still hanging on. |
