For your family members, you only have to submit photocopies of their birth certificates (preferably birth certificates issued by NPC)

Thanks. I'll submit photocopies then, but is it necessary to get them Notarized?

I have been here before you. I was the one who accused you of not paying homage to team 12 back then... I only modified my moniker. Oya take the CAD

Okay, since you modified your moniker den as per moniker I'm your senior, anyways I don accept the CAD. Let the blessings that followed Team 12 which I tapped into follow u as well because I tapped into it and blessings have been following me. I received my admission letter today, I don't have a Masters degree but I got Straight PhD admission, Full funded. I bless God for Today. It's just God, can't equate it to anything.

Oga Team16,

Na wa for you ooo. There is what is called 'risk tolerance' and I see clearly where you stand based on your comment on this issue. In my opinion and from my little experience, risk assessment is carried out to avoid future problems. So I'm a bit worried by your position. It's always important as you plan for the present to consider the effect/consequence of tomorrow. Some consequences do not mature until 20 years or more, while some can be early; either way there's always a reaction to our action's (positive or negative). What works for my friend might not work for me. I'm assuming that you just wanted to emphasise on staying positive and achieving what you can for now and allowing the future to take care of itself and not the other way round. Risks are not what we should joke with especially when we are planning.

I mean no harm here please just a candid advice. All the best as you package your documents for application.

Thank God you're going to UNB. You will epp me with my Trv apps. I will be contacting you if I find anything confusing. Thanks

@Bro sniper, my bro my friend hope to meet you up @UNB. Back to the issue demmypeters1 didn't tell anyone the reasons why he wants to embark on such journey as a result he alone knows what he want to achieve with it. I only commented cos my friend did same last fall n will start School this fall. Another dimension to it as you mentioned is does he want to get a PR from Canada? If he doesn't then he can find his way around. My personal opinion o. @Demmypeters1 OYO is your case o. No tell VO say na me talk.

@Team16, what stage are you now in your application?

Still battling with the sop's, sponsors letter, intro letter from company, study leave letter. I want to get every document with me before I start. Still haven't decided if to use online or paper. Which do you think will be fast for me. Going for PhD n to resume this fall.

It's possible but not advisable, don't you think it will tell later when applying for postgraduate work permit or study permit extension? How do you explain that you enter Canada without resuming for your studies a whole year but you are working?
Am not in Canada oo and never seen anybody in that situation b4 but I believe am making sense.

So is it advisable that he should not go at all because of fear of "what will happen when applying for postgraduate work permit". Bro, IMO, always forget what will happen later. Do what you think will make you succeed. When people talk about risks, how do you define risk? My guy is balling in Ontario now and has saved up enough money to start school this fall. Conquer your fear bro. Life is all about risks. @demmypeters1 follow your heart. Everything is possible if you can believe it. Just go for it.

It's possible. My guy did it last year and he's resuming this fall. Pgd construction management @ Conestoga. So get in first n you will find your way around.

Thanks everyone for your input. I appreciate. I viewed my application this afternoon to see that it has been changed to PhD by my supervisor. So official I'm now a PhD applicant. To the prayer warriors in the house, I plead with you all to remember me in your prayers. Though it's not an easy task but with God all things are possible. He said he'll make a way for us in the wilderness. I strongly believe in him to make a way for me in the wilderness. Thank you all for your inputs. Your words have really encouraged me. In Igbo land, it is said when your father ask you to beat someone, you go with all boldness. I will embrace it with all boldness, determination and God willing, I will conquer it. Thanks all.

I dey wait for this kind juicy offer.
Since it's a PhD, you should be fully funded.
By the way, don't be scared. You'd do a year of coursework before you start your research.
Wish you all the best

Thanks bro, how the hussle. Any offer from your schools yet.

No para my guy... Buckle your shoes up, you will be fine..

M.sc and PhD are similar only few extra classes and a little indept research than M.Sc.

Also check with the school they might give you full scholarship and a monthly stipend if you become a teaching assistant..

Note: if you accept a teaching assistant job, dont try to form phonetics grin they wont understand you... Just speak your normal 9ja tongue but louder..

Goodluck ma guy cool you will enjoy it... So no para, no one will ask you to buy this buy that for practical.. Just show up for your classes and do your research diligently.. Your professors plus post - docs are there to help..

Cheers!

Thank you bro.

negotiate for a better future bro. Tell the prof your budget us for MSc but you can only take up a PhD if you can find a full scholarship. He must have seen great potentials in your work so don't worry too much about MSc.

Okay I appreciate. Even the MSc.E I applied for is full funded. So I'm not looking at funding as an issue here. That's why I didn't put anything relating to money in my post. Thanks All the same.

Guy don't ponder over it any further because it really shows that your admission is sealed already and funding would be available for u probably. This is exactly what a close pal of mine experienced when he gained admission into university of Alabama in US which is direct PhD.Its the best option for you so grab it with both hands.

Okay. Thanks

Young Man, Accept the PhD track. It is an all win win situation. Think of it this way, if you are not cut out as a PhD material, they will award you your masters degree. Believe it or not, you might be taking some masters' level classes if you are deficient in certain areas. Another thing you need to know, unlike in the UK, PhD students in the US and Canada take classes a lot for one or two years while conducting research at the same time. So you will not be left behind just because you feel you are not prepared enough. One more fact, some schools admit BS holders directly into the PhD program and this practice is common for chemistry, Finance, Economics, Chemical engineering, etc. By no means does direct admission into a PhD program makes it a cake walk, but just like you were a JJC in your freshman year, and you made it through your final year, you will also become a JJC in the PhD class but you also make it. As the saying goes, there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Finally, Nigerian students excel quite a lot in overseas schools because they typically hunker down and get the job done. But be afraid and burn the midnight oil if you have one or more original Chinese or Indian students in your class. Take the Plunge with the offer of PhD admission and ride into the sunset.

I appreciate bro. Thanks
