Google recent announced that all email addresses that has not been use for more than two years will be deleted from their system. Though there are some exemptions:



Google announced earlier this year that all unused gmail account that was created and has not be active for a period of 24 months will be deleted by December 1, but now the deadline is few weeks away. So how would you know if your gmail account is inactive, well it simple, according to Google, your gmail account is inactive if you have not perform the following;

1.Signing in; reading or sending an email
using Google Drive
2. watching a YouTube video
3. sharing photos
4. downloading an app
5. and using Google browser

All above listed must be done while your gmail account is signed in. So if you have not done any activities on your Google account in the past two years Google consider such account as inactive. Having said that, there are some exceptions, this policy only applied to personal accounts, if your account is tied to a school, an employer or other organizations this policy does not affect you. And if you have purchase something from Google play store or if you have a balance on your account you are safe from this policy as well.

"Google products reserve the right to delete your data when your account has not been used within that product for a 2-year period," Google states in its Inactive Google Account Policy. "December 1, 2023 is the earliest a Google Account will be deleted due to this policy."

So if an account is found inactive by the Tech giant, all content and data will be deleted. this includes a host of informations stored by Google, which include Google calendar events, Google photo, Google Doc and email.

If you have an account and don't want Google to flag as inactive kindly login on or before December 1 to save it from this policy.

According to published reports, The company reported revenue of $249 million, which shattered analyst’s expectations of $220 million. The surge was led by record software revenue, which came in at $996 million, a year-over-year increase of 26 percent. The company also reported record gross margins of 76 percent up from 67% last quarter and 62% a year ago.

Back in November 2013 when Chen took over the company as the CEO, most people thinks he was on a fool's errands trying to save a company that has little or no chance in the smartphone market. Now that has chanced. How did he do it? When Chen took over, the one thing the company had was some cash on hand from its glory days as a popular handset maker. Chen has used that cash for strategic purchases that have helped redefine the company.

When looking the company from a phone perspective, you will notice that the company is no where to be fund, compared to the giant OEMs out there, the likes of Samsung, Apple, etc. But Chen obviously saw a way forward for the company and he began to reshape it slowly as software company. We all know that Microsoft paint is as old as windows, it came along windows 1.0 way back in 1985,

Vivo has just announced a device that has under-display finger print sensor in it, beating Apple to its game and becoming the first company to launch such innovation on a smartphone. Before now, Fingerprint sensor under glass might be easy to do but under the thickness of the glass plus display, is something nobody is yet to master in a production scale.

The new generation sensor installed on Vivo prototype smartphone was been tested today by Engadget's Richard Lai who got to test it out at a trade show in Shanghai. The sensor, is the latest ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from Qualcomm that now works through OLED display stacks up to 1.2mm thick, up to 0.8mm of cover glass, or up to 0.65mm of aluminum (an increase from 0.4mm for both glass or metal).



Unlike other capacitive fingerprint sensors we find on phones today, the new under-display fingerprint scanner work when under water or even when your hand is greasy. But there is a rub though; after the test, here is what Lia observed:

“I found the fingerprint recognition speed to be noticeably slower -- about one second between first touch and entering home screen -- than the near-instantaneous unlock that I'm used to on most recent smartphones.”

While Samsung failed to install the fingerprint sensor under the Galaxy S8, and Apple yet to implement theirs on the up coming all-screen tenth anniversary iPhone 8, Vivo- a Chinese company has step up their games to be the first company to break this barrier.

If this new Qualcomm fingerprint sensor is truly slow as it were, then it will be a tradeoff for Apple's next flagship phone, either Apple offer users a slow under-display fingerprint sensor or they offer a fast sensor at the back of the device. Apple will have to make that decision, but it will be wise for Apple to listen to its user opinion to where the fingerprint scanner is to be located.
