Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How I Lost A Potential Job Because Of My Denomination by TechSkill: 3:24pm On Sep 13, 2020
wunmi590:
Good day nairalanders,

Sorry I have to write this, I have decided to keep it to myself but, I decided to let it out.

Just like every other job seekers who are looking for jobs either to switch to a better pay or change environment.

Though I have been out of job since the COVID-19 pandemic started, I worked in a retail company, but since we have not been called back, I decided to search for job.

I saw an advert and decided to submit my application, just like every other people, luckily after one week or two, I got a mail that I have been shortlisted for their online test and after I pass, I will move to the next stage which is virtual interview before coming to their office to sign my employment letter.

After the mail, like 3 days I got a mail containing my ogin and password for the test, fiam, I opened and I did the test.

After like another 3days, I got a mail from them that I passed the test and i should be expecting a whatsap call from one of their head office in Europe.

Luckily I got the call, from one of the European country number from a Nigerian, believing is the call that would change my life forever.

After the normal introduction and other things like the job functions, the real bible questions started which I was able to scale through it.

Towards the end of the virtual interview, the last question was are you a born again Christian, have you been baptised and what denomination are you?.

And I said yes I'm a born again Christian, I've been baptised and I'm a Roman Catholic.

At the end of my speech his response was, is not possible to be a Catholic and be born again.

He said once you were not taken to the river to be baptised that's not a baptism.

Catholics are not born again Christians and I'm not baptised too just because I was not taken to the river to be baptised.

His last statement was, you actually have the experience but, we need other denomination not Catholic that the job entails somebody who is a real born again Christian.

That was how I lost the job, thinking today being my birthday, I will go to church and do special thanks giving.
Well, if we lived in a saner clime, that company can be sued. Wetin concern religion for this kind matter?

One of the qualities of a good leader is to make consultations..... Malami ought to have consulted widely before making such decision.

This would not only affect the revenues of the NBA, but it would cause some misconduct by aggrieved members.

Malami should be careful not to take sides with the splinter NBA group, he should be very careful.

You are jus talking nonsense. This is a lesson for Southerners who like fighting each other. Fools who mock the North as less educated yet the North always proof they are far smarter and bolder than the ones that call themselves most educated.

This amendment has everything to do with El Rufai and his splinter group.

The South is FOOLISH, a WIMP and dumb.

Kidd keeps debunking that "Rich people are Proud" myth.

Even if he's pretending, he's doing it so well and that requires a certain level of streetsmart which is also rare in People of his Social Status.

Many people know nothing about ilorin, it easier for ilorin to join South West than okun people, I keep telling people that emir of ilorin will never pray for Nigeria to devide because there is no way ilorin will be left behind, the next town after ogbomoso(oyo) is ilorin and after u leave ilorin (heading to North) there are 100s of yoruba town/villages like oke oyi, jebba, share etc, the last time I visited oke oyi, I witnessed their masquerade festival.
Now tell me how they going to merge ilorin with North? Will they erase those yoruba towns from existence ni, is like saying lagos will be part of biafra, will u skip ibadan, ogun etc

LOL but when igbos tell that people In Asaba are igbos, ur people will call them attache by force.

Nice one bro
What about us that buy from 1688
And secondly please attend to the issue if my Facebook ads please
OR we create a WhatsApp group
Just stick to Alibaba. The price are not too different. It is same. If you doubt me, check it out. Using 1688.com comes at a disadvantage because you won't understand what is written there (chinese) and you would need Chinese agent to help you buy from there. But Alibaba, you can handle it by yourself, save money that could have gone to agent, have peace because it is written in English.

It is safe to say that 1688.com is just the chinese version of Alibaba, price-wise

Thank you TechSkill for all you do. I've been following your posts for sometime now.

However, we can all join a WhatsApp group where we can discuss and share ideas aswell.

For noobs, I'd advice you don't spend a dime importing anything for now due to the exchange rate. If you want to import, just import hundreds of a particular product.

Of course, you must have done your own research to know a hot selling product.

Find a hot selling product and head to to get it locally. Run traffic to your landing page and adopt a dropshipping method (you source locally from jiji, add your mark up and send directly to the customer). Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

For landing pages, you can use mailchimp, getresponse or carrd.io

For logistics services, open an ecommercce account with GOD IS GOOD LOGISTICS.

If you need logistics that do same day delivery in Lagos, you can reach out to me.

For Facebook ads, goto trafficmastery.ng.

TechSkill, we really need to talk. There's something I'm working on and it'd be of great benefit to the community.

Cheers !!

Na God oo. I no plan this thing but I wanted to prove some doubting thomases wrong when I told them what is possible with eCommerce. What they don't realise is that people WILL ALWAYS BUY things, no matter what. It is your job to put your tray so that you can collect their money.

if you are using God Is Good, do they collect money on your behalf from buyers? Last time I tried to use them, I discovered they are expensive. So what I usually do is use other unknown transport vehicles heading to, say, the North. My agent there will collect it from them and distribute for me.

For the exchange rate, I have decided that I will get card at all my banks, as long as they still allow $100. I don't mind opening extra bank accounts at each of them so that I can get 2 cards per bank, while using some friend's card too.

On Alibaba, I will tell seller to split payment. If I am paying $500-$1000, I will go $100 each until I complete the payment and seller will send me the package as whole.

I could repeat same process for Facebook ads by pausing the ads before it exceed max $100 limit, Pay and continue using it.

I really want to understand what the domain name will be used for and also a web host?

and must it be a Dotcom website?

The summary is that you need a website to execute this model of eCommerce and that is what you need the domain name and the webhost for.

No, it must not be dot com.

Am I missing something or is it a way to rip the mini importers off?
lol... they must make profit na. remember they are sourcing for the dollar too.

Today, I paid twice for one small order. I already have one that will arrive next week but had to order additional so that before it arrive, I would have sold the first one off... max 5 days, I should be done selling all.

This dollar scarcity is not funny at all and I am thinking of applying for cards at all banks I have account as well as using friend's

Forget the topic am sure you got the idea.

There is this whatsapp TV that I have been following for a Long time and the guy always advertise MBA Investment Trading and How I can get 100% of my investment in 48hours, After various testimonies he kept displaying I decided to give it a try.

Firstly I messaged him for details and he told me all the bla bla bla of How it works. I was only interested in the part Where I will get my money doubled.

Fast forward to After I sent him the first 5k he said that one was for registration that now I should invest, at that point I began to suspect Fowl play but my 5k was already inside let me just see it through, so I added the 10k.

Next day he was complaining that it refuse to invest and that the platform for 10k investment was giving issues that if I have 5k I should add so that he can add up and invest 15k and I will get back 40k, I told him that was all I had.

The story is getting to Long. Long story short he kept giving one story or the other then it was clear to me that I have been scam. I was so ashamed that I did not tell anyone.

Then I mailed my bank about the matter and asked them if there is any resolution. They replied that I should take a screenshot of the conversation Which I did.

It's a month Plus now I have even forgotten about the issue when the Scammer messaged me pleading that he will refund me the 15k because he got a letter from his bank threatening to freeze is account if he does not resolve issues with me. I was finally able to get my money back. I have messaged my bank about the refund and I hope they relay the message on time to his bank.

the bank that you sent the money to, was it zenith bank or it was different bank? I mean you bank is Zenith bank but the account that you sent the money to, was it Zenith bank or GTB?

Many disadvantages
1. They don't speak English
2. Most shoe sellers deals in brands like Prada, Gucci etc.
3. People struggle to sell Geo to people in England not to talk of Italy.
And he got a $1000 offer? did you read where he said he got an offer? Look, when it comes to business, never look at it from your eyes but the eyes of customers/clients because they have the FINAL SAY.
