saxwizard: wat abt an engineer posted tto a school...how will dat mak much significance to CV? so what do you mean? teaching in a school is not significant enough to go on your CV as experience? my mom used to have a shop where she sold stuff and I use to go there after school to help. that shop has now grown to become one of the biggest P&G warehouses in Nigeria. that experience on my cv alone got me my first job even though I ended up quitting a few months later. point is no matter how small or insignificant you think some experience you have is, make it significant. |

There's not a 100% safety record with air travel. actually you are wrong. they don't happen all the time and it is a big deal. air transportation is the safest means of travel statistically. there is 1 in 29million odd of being in a plane crash. That's a lot of odds. some airlines have a 100% safety record |

I never mentioned that other religious teach their followers to lie cheat or whatever. they only teach them the basic things. who other than jehovah's Witnesses teach that jesus christ started ruling in heaven as king in 1914? or who else is teaching that the bible foretold many years ago that the US will be the world power and will remain the world power God's kingdom comes to destroy wicked ones and take over rulership. who else is teaching that only 144,000 will be going to heaven according to what the bible says? Answer: NOBODY!!!! as jehovah's Witnesses understanding of the bible continues to improve, they adjust their believes to fit what their new understanding is. FYI I am done going back and forth on this subject. have a nice life mister |

rottennaija: Yet, these were part of the believes that they held as Truth from God, claiming to be spirit directed and used to condemn other religious groups for lies?
But the major question really is, if this "truth" (you now call it understanding) was spirit directed and came from God, why do they change? At least you have seen the Bible and it's message hasn't changed.
Then what will happen when the present "truth" understanding need to change? only a handful of teachings have changed over the years. and jehovah witnesses DO NOT condemn any other religious entity in anyway for the record, do take not. the basic teachings of jehovahs witnesses have always been the same, there was never a time when witnesses taught that it was okay to lie, steal, kill, fornicate or indulge in any other wrong doing. these things are basic. love God, love jesus, love your neighbors blah blah blah. the only things that have changed are really complex bible prophecies that have deeper meaning than what they actually say. for example the dream that king nebuchadnezzar had is way more than just a dream and it's fulfilment is two. this is something am pretty sure you have never heard of. even the bible itself mentions that as we get closer to the end of this wicked system the "light will get brighter" meaning that for those who truly appreciate the message in the bible their understanding of it will only improve. oglalasioux: I challenge you that your website doesn't answer any of the questions I raised. If I'm wrong prove it to me by tackling at least one of the questions.
I started reading Jehovah's Witness books and journals 20 years ago. I have a library of Awake! Watchtower, Young People Ask and so much more. I don't argue blindly. I've done a 15 years research and come to the conclusion that God, as dished out to us by Judaism, Christianity and Islam, doesn't exist.
Jehovah's Witnesses are great people. I owe much of what I know in my chosen profession to what I learnt from Awake! over the years. Unfortunately, they don't have tangible answers to world's nagging questions.
Interestingly, science can answer a great deal of mankind's questions with evidence. Thanks. you know what? ask a question you will like to have answered...I didn't follow the trail of questions you asked earlier. let's sort that out yeah |

Ask them (JW), why is it that according to their teachings, no other religion is righteous except theirs, ask them why is it that they presume other fellow Christians as Christendom Why is their own bible different from the real bible we know.
Mind you I was born and brought up as one of them but left them immediately I gained my freedom from my parents. paulGrundy: I don't plan on argueing with you, you can't argue facts, you state them. Well since you know, let me drop you with this;
The watchtower originally taught that NO ONE would make heaven, and that heaven is already complete.
It was later changed and stated they were not sure if heaven was complete, hence some can now make heaven.
For over 70 years it was held that the 144,000 were fully assigned by 1935.
"Logically, the calling of the little flock would draw to a close when the number was nearing completion, and the evidence is that the general gathering of these specially blessed ones ended in 1935." Watchtower 1995 Feb 15 p.19
If anyone since 1935 rightfully claimed to be anointed it was as a replacement of a sinful remnant, no longer worthy of heaven.
"For 19 centuries there was only the one calling, the heavenly one, with Jehovah being very selective as to who would serve with his Son to make up the Kingdom government. Many would be invited but only a precious few chosen. (Matthew 22:2, 14) In time the prescribed but limited number of 144,000 would be reached. After this no more would be anointed by holy spirit as witness that they had the heavenly hope, unless, in a rare occurrence, the unfaithfulness of one of the remaining 'chosen ones' made a replacement necessary." Watchtower 1982 Feb 15 p.30
In 2005, it was 70 years since the calling was said to have closed. Since a person cannot become anointed until after their baptism, the youngest of the 1935 anointed would have been around 15 in that year, and so in 2005 the youngest anointed from 1935 were already 85. In 2005, only a very small number of those from 1935 were still alive, and so most partakers would need to be considered replacements.
There are a number of holes it the idea that the heavenly call closed in 1935. To start with, there is absolutely no Scriptural basis that the calling would close, let alone specifically in 1935 or any other year (this explains why you avoided my question). None of the Governing Body were even been born before 1935. Furthermore, there has been no decrease in partakers in over 35 years. This led to Watchtower finally admitting that this doctrine never had any basis.
"When does the calling of Christians to a heavenly hope cease? … On the other hand, as time has gone by, some Christians baptized after 1935 have had witness borne to them that they have the heavenly hope. (Romans 8:16, 17) Thus, it appears that we cannot set a specific date for when the calling of Christians to the heavenly hope ends. How should a person be viewed who has determined in his heart that he is now anointed and begins to partake of the emblems at the Memorial? He should not be judged. The matter is between him and Jehovah. " Watchtower 2007 May 1 p.31

Centuries of deception at its worst! nice copy of paste. you should copy and paste a book. I am confident it will sell well, or maybe get many likes. jehovah witnesses do not claim to know everything in the bible. some of the believes they use to have in the past are no longer held so because their understanding of the bible continues to improve and so they have to let go of believes they previously held that are contrary to what the bible says. this is why some of their old believes no longer hold. yes I am one of jehovahs witnesses |

Ezegozie: Before I start my main story, I will like to do the first thing first, which is to recognise, respect and thank this wonderful and nice Gentleman, (walex360) who I met on Nairaland few months ago, who was of great help to me today. Inshort, without him today, my trip to Eket would have been futile and I would have ended up being frustrated.
Now back to the main gist, sequel to series of advice being given on this particular section of Nairaland about Job hunt and prior preparation, I decided to take the bull by the horns today by going to the most industralized part of my state of deployment, Eket. But before my journey , I browsed for the contacts and address of the companies I intended to visit, so that everything would be easy for me.
On getting to Eket, the tune of the music changed and I started seeing what I didn't expect. I noticed that majority of the oil servicing companies at Eket don't put any conspicuous sign post at the entrance of their office and it made it extremely difficult if not impossible to locate them.
Then, an Idea came to my mind, and I remembered this honest Gentleman I met on Nairaland who works at Eket, and fortunately for me, he was "OFF" in his work place, and he immediately gave me the address to his place and I wasted no more time branching to his area. I must confess, he really made my trip to Eket meaningful by leaving what he was doing to follow me to so many companies which I never knew were companies because there was no sign post at their entrance.
Today, I really experienced what Job hunt is like and at a particular place, I was indirectly insulted but I took it as one of these bad sides of job hunt. I entered the company and after explaining to the man my reason of coming, hoping that he would be of help, he started discouraging me. He started by asking me the state I come from, which I enthusiastically told him hoping that he would perform some wonders. He told me that he must be sincere with me, that there is no Job in Nigeria and that I should go back to my state and start farming in order to be entitled to the monthly #5000 Buhari promised.
To be sincere, I was surprised with what the man said, but I just managed to thank him and leave the environment.
Anyway to cut the story short, I managed to submit my CV in two places, and I am really hoping to hear from them before or after passing out next month. Lmao Hahahahahahahaha your man submitted two CVs and he is hoping to get a call back. That's cute. there is a possibility that the paper you printed your CV on you will still print your CV on that paper again because your CV is going straight to the bin and then to the recycling plant where it will be processed back into paper again. man you are going to have to do this a couple more times for it to work. my advice is try to connect with heads of departments you are interested in and HR managers through LinkedIn and reach out to them about vacancies you read about or just about connecting with them in hopes of an opportunity. I am a corper like you and I work in a recruitment firm. passing out in April. |

edygistvilla: I recently took on a job, about few days ago (less than two weeks), as a office assistant/ Computer operator at an office located at Ojudu Berger. This is partly because I had just finished the just concluded Jamb utme examination and I was less-busy at home and I needed to develop work ethics and gain professional experiences that would be vital in future. There are TONs of stuff you have to learn while being in this position & I was doing great making photocopies, taking passports, and even helping out in typying. When we are less busy, My boss comes for a chat with my co-workers﹑ which they eagerly and actively participate but I don't. Not because I do not like my Boss or I'm avoidant, but I prefer being at peace with my thought and value my personal space. Then I noticed after few days, Her behaviour and mood towards me changed for the worse as she shouts at me and insults me if i make mistakes, Ofcourse, That's not a problem, but the hurtful part is she hurls insult on my personality. She says to me "You stand there like mumu'', 'Dondie'', 'Lookie lookie like deaf and dumb' e.t.c . But today at work, I made a mistake with taking a passport photograph due to the fact that the pressure was much coupled with the over-crowded enivironment. She instantly got annoyed and said she can't tolerate a dull and mumu person and that I'm too dull. She said I should leave.
I was pissed because I had not been given a chance to learn everything needed to know Yet. I think this was really unfair since I was not even given a chance to improve. She said blame me for being an "observer", but she had to let me go.
I'm not sad this happen but this had triggered my incentiveness and challenged me the more. I'm even courting an idea of developing a start-up. I don't know if I should laugh at you or laugh at you |
