Chreze: Great stuff. Sadly I have no knowledge on data Analyst stuffs. But one thing I can tell you is, if you ever get or see any job offer from any big company (not necessarily the big 4 as they call them in the UK, but companies with branches in other country or headquarters in the US), accept the offer even if their pay is low. These big companies spend lots of money on tools to do their work and in some cases pay strictly industry salary.
4 months with these companies can change your life as they will expose you to good tools in your field and help you gain good knowledge. They know how to purchase good tools with access to the tool company Univeristy library (access to free training for their staff who will be using the tools). So just go with the flow of their low pay, build yourself within 4 months, then make your move.
Good luck. Thanks brosky. You too much... I got my eyes down for such offers |

Chreze: Cybersecurity (security) is more of PASSION. You can get real security trainings and experience without paying anyone a dime. The only requirement for this is PASSION and time.
My advice is look at cyber security analyst Job descriptions ( with interest in tools you are expected to have skills in), go to YouTube, search for introduction videos to those tools. Learn from people who use these tools daily. Spend time on them.
Real example, Qualys and Splunk are two good tools used in the security space. Go to YouTube watch videos on intro to Splunk and Qualys. You will get videos from the companies directly on YouTube. After this, head straight to their website (Qualys and Splunk). Register and get a free account. This account will give you access to fundamental courses (free) to their tool usage. You will get lab sessions with access to their environments and do real life exercises/experiments. You will get certification after successfully completing the courses. Build your knowledge and security thinking skills. As you progress in this you will find out more useful learning techniques/ideas (like using virtual box for security exercises).
After that stage, jump on videos on YouTube to learn cybersecurity interview questions and answers. Again, multiple videos on YouTube for security analyst interview question and answer. When making searches, start with cyber security as key word. Then progress to searching “security analysts”. Security Analyst search will combine “information security”, “cybersecurity” and general security architecture results. Here you get knowledge about DLP tools, how to configure security tools and how they are used.
All of this can only be achieved thru PASSION. If you have done all of this, you can contact me later and I will schedule a google chat interview with you. Please note that the interview is not to give you job, but to help you prepare for interview with real security managers and boost your confidence.
I have had interview with managers who care about certification and I have had interview with manager who don’t care, they just want to know you are sound. They can tell if you know your onion from just security chats.
Stay blessed.
PS: if your passion is being data analysts, apply same process (starting with job description and tools, etc etc). I have only shared security cos that’s my area. Thank you very much. I do appreciate However, i tend to have that passion you speak of for data analysis. I will apply that blue print you mentioned to it then |

Please folks in the Uk that are into IT.
How do you see the prospect of learning cybersecurity with Itcareer switch?
Seriously on the lookout for a UK experience /internship in an IT course.
I am an entry level data analyst without any UK real project yet and no jobs being offered except data entry roles with very low pay.
Data analysis trainings are quite expensive and i do not consider High Impact career trainings ideal for a UK experience.

okonja: What matter most is getting the hands-on experience and a placement at the end of the course. There are testimonies from previous cohorts that went through the same training process and have landed themselves a good paying jobs that comes with sponsorship. I haven't seen much of their testimonies and online presence though... AiCore and Masterclass are both extensive Still on the lookout tho |

Okay.is high impact career a UK establishment or affiliated with UK recruiters? Cos that's the aim, there are tons of trainings but this has to be specific |

okonja: Why pay that high for Data Analytics when High Impact Career is there for you. It’s £600 for 10 weeks but subsidized for Nigerians and Africans at large to a price of N200k or it’s equivalent.
Check Ogbeni Dipo’s bio on Twitter for more information. Really, if they offer similar service to AiCore then that is a good one Thank you |

okonja: This is the reality of what's happening here, get ready to start from the ground zero and have a solid foundation. You will get the entry role BUT you need to go through bootcamps that will land you an automatic internship after completion which will give you the so much-requested "UK Experience" when applying for jobs.
1. Start the care/support worker job first and don't worry about sponsorship now.
What I have observed in the short period of reaching here is that if they don't give, they will let it be known to you outrightly from the start, if they don't say anything, they most likely give but will observe you first before letting you know. However, it's mostly 4 months to the end of your BRP deadline.
While doing the job and making money, you will find time to be studying for data analyst skills, since it's online.
2. Then practice well to be good at the data analyst role to get you ready for an interview for the data analyst job.
You going to school after your wife is waste of funds + time in my own view. She too can start applying for the same care/support worker job as well. Yes, well said I got an offer for an extensive UK Bootcamp starting this february but its high as much as 6500GBP. Next Cohort is May. Maybe i continue with care job and get some money and stability before enrolling in May They really do value that you have their UK experience Thanks bro |

jum33: let me be blunt here ,Uk IT employer dont really care about your master in IT what what they want to see in your experience and track record in the field . Focus on enrolling in IT bootcamps that can give your world class training ,capstones projects and working experience Thanks for this rich response. God bless you |

Will be really glad if I can get an advice on this. Teebaa: This care work talk is really a thing for consideration.
I need advise actually
I and my wife both got admission to same school , while my wife is studying, i deferred mine ( Applied data science) to October
Currently about to start carework next month, no talk of sponsorship yet.
The goal is to be a data analyst/scientist starting from an entry level role, i have some certifications and projects completed but the jobs are not coming. Applying on LinkedIn but only few calls back.
Should i go for studies after my wife completes hers or keep looking for that entry level role which i am not sure will come with visa sponsorship. |

dduchess90: Hello
No, walk-in has to be on the day of your biometrics
2. Your POF is for your study, any other arrangements is deemed as deceit and if caught you and your spouse will be banned for 10years.
Be guided,we don't post and ask advise for such deceit here
Cheers All right. Thanks much |

dduchess90: Hello
If you decide to use the MAs account then the POF for dependant is added to whatever is left of the MAs account(remember to start your count appropriately)
The MA should be able to provide if and when requested by the ECO necessary documents to show how his maintenance (fees and upkeep so far) has been spent. There's no need to add or remove,it should be there already
I would prefer the POF in the Dependant's account to keep things simple and clear, then evidence of whatever is in the MAs account and relevant receipts for bills paid can be provided if requested by the ECO to check that the POF is not recycled
During the Dependant's application you don't need to attach the fees paid please. Focus on the application as a Dependant and proving your relationship (whether partner or child)
Cheers Thanks for touching on this duchess. I have a similar case, I'm the dependent for my wife as a MA. The POF is in my name and we share the same surname with all documents to verify we are married. However my wife has been watching too much of YouTube videos and convinicing me that it's best for it to be in MA account. I've shown her I can be a sponsor as seen on gov UK website but she is still scared I'm a week into my pof counting already Do you see any problem. |

I'll really like to know which is better Teeside or university of Essex
Though I can make deposit payments of 2k GBP which is what Essex demands as against 4k for teeside.
Teeside has very good flexible payment plan tho |

Good day guys....
Please can anyone advise
I and my wife both got offers for admission into same school in UK but I am not sure of who will study and who will work.
I currently have HND while she has BSC. Im seeing a good opportunity for me to get an Msc straight after my HND..
But I've been advised to let her study while I work.
Meanwhile I am the one funding the whole process.
What'd you guys think? |
