I found this information somewhere and it alarmed me! It makes soo much sense and explains why people sometimes feel "attached" to people they sleep with (even when attachment was not part of the plan).

In the bible times, old times and in old traditions when a covenant is made between two parties, there is shedding of blood.
It has been discovered that this is also the case when it comes to intimacy.
That is why virgins are initially meant to bleed when their hymen is broken! This blood is felt and shared between the two people having intimacy. (Although some virgins break their hymens due to heavy sports or whatever, but that's is a minority group.)
The blood of a virgin is significant of a covenant made between the two consenting parties. This is why it has been advised in the Bible (fornication & adultery prohibitions) and from old times to give your virginity to your one and only spouse, because it is a covenant and a soul tie,
