Professor Soyinka has had cancer for a while but he uses herbal remedy and if you are not told you may not know he has cancer. My mum was diagnosed of colorectal cancer in 2020. She decided to follow the conventional medicine path because she retired from the health sector. After one surgery, several chemotherapies, multiple radiotherapies, several months of pain for her, psychological trauma for the family members and the huge bills, she passed in 2025. Based on these different health outcomes, one would not blame anyone who seeks to follow the alternative path.

It is the anyhowness of some Nigerians that make them think that privileges must be abused. A visa is a document that authorizes one to stay in a country for a defined period of time. Why should such be abused by over-staying?

It seems like a lot of Nigerians are yet to understand that politicians have their own ways. I see a lot of people here doing APC versus Accord versus other parties and I feel sorry for them. How would you feel if Governor Adeleke defects tomorrow to APC? Or how would you feel when Tinubu appoints Accord or Adeleke's cronies into federal offices? The last time the slogan was "Labour top to bottom", but what happened when the labour party office holders defected to APC?

With respect to your welder that absconded with your money, it is a pity. However, some of these problems are self inflicted although I admit that there are some genuine cases. Check out that same welder, it would shock you that he might have been absconding with people's money leading to loss of customers and patronage and hence the poverty.

As someone who had stayed outside Naija, I can tell you for free that one of the things that change with our people outside Naija is the work ethics. Nigerians tend to work harder outside Nigeria. I realized long ago that there was no way for me not to be successful in Nigeria if I worked as hard as I was working outside the country.

You made valuable points which cannot be denied but my emphasis was helping as many of them who are willing let go of their present lifestyle and find the right life path if guided. There are many of them who want to.

This can be done through education and enlightenment with skill acquisition.

The northerners aren't bad people at all. I have come across many good ones among them who are very hardworking with their business but yielding little fruit for them.

Spreading the importance of education in the region will help go a long way.

They are not the evil ones. Some are only mostly been used by the evil ones.

A child can roam the streets when he is suppose to be in the class gathering the knowledge he needs to face future challenges. But when the future finally comes unprepared, he is forced to go into crime to survive.

You also talked about the desire to spread sharia and religion. It all still boils down to education. An educated mind quickly realise that relationship with God is what truly matters and not religion and those who do not practice your religion should not always been seen as your enemies.

I believe education together with agricultural development in the region will transform the land and turn many dependent ones among them to multi millionaires because most of them love agriculture but anything done including agriculture itself without the proper education to go about it will yield little or no fruit. That is why education is most important.

If you read my post carefully, I never claimed that all northerners are bad. Quite frankly, I believe there are many noble northerners and I have some as friends.

However, like I do believe, hiding criminality under the toga of religion is a very crazy thing. It becomes worse when one now considers that the agenda is taking on some expansionist goals and subjugation of other ethnic groups.

It was easier for FG to negotiate with the Niger Deltan activists because they had clear demands, which was for government to provide them with financial empowerment because the resources that their area was and is providing to the nation. Bandits do not have any requests while Boko Haram members are demanding for sharia government, which is not possible in multi-religious country.

2. The Niger Deltan guys did not go about kidnapping and killing all over Nigeria. They restricted their activities to their region just to cripple oil extraction from their region thereby rendering the country's economy to comatose.

3. Contrarily, Boko Haram and bandits have killed and maimed innocent people severally. They have committed several murders, and if Nigeria were to be a serious country many would have been handed the death sentence, considering the constitution prescribes death penalty for those who commit murder.

4. Lastly, what have these idiots done with amnesty given to them in the past. Rather than repent of their folly, they continue to engage in the killing of others after sometime.

Finally, those !diots deserve no further engagement, rather they deserve death after their speedy judicial trials based on the country's constitution.

You are absolutely correct, the organized way Obi is proposing is why Jonathan's subsidy removal attempt failed. There is no organized way at removing that cancer. While, one agrees that the savings from the removal could have been better managed in terms of transparency and funds redirection.

So, I agree with you that the subsidy removal was needed and there was no better time and way to carry it out.

Yes, it is standard practice to pre-inform the parents about where the kids will visit during an excursion. However, the parents might not have been told ahead the activities that the students would engage in. Except, you have facts that say that the parents were informed before hand that the children would have to pray Islamically in the mosque, you have to cut them some slacks.

For instance, sometimes ago one of my kids was taken on a field trip to a bacon and cooked ham production facility. Of course, I consented before they went. However, the child declined to eat the bacon they offered her because she didn't eat pork back then. So in this instance, I knew where they were visiting but I was not informed that the visit might include having to eat pork based products otherwise I would have advised them of her aversion to such.

For instance, the CBN means and ways that Buhari abused is one of the loans you have not stated. Additionally, a lot of the forward sales contract of crude oil that happened under Buhari is such that the government of the day can't earn from some of the crude oil that is being lifted today. Thereby, denying the government of the ability to earn the current rates on the crude oil.

In fairness to the South Africans, statistics show that Nigerians are more guilty of the stated offences here, regrettably.

So, generally speaking whilst Nigerians need to make conscious efforts to be better humans, South Africa is not without it's share of criminalities that demand attention.

"Criminal brutal killing" in Nigeria is not anywhere close to what obtains in South Africa. It may shock you to know that the crime rate in South Africa at 74% is higher than Nigeria's at 66% despite the rise in terrorism in Nigeria.

Both countries need to do better in terms of curbing criminal acts.
