Nuendo: SUGGESTION TO THE HOUSE: HOW WE CAN TRACK THE OPERATIONS OF THE CDHC

I have been a member of this forum for the past two months and i must confess, we have really made significant progress in understanding and demystifying the CDHC. Nevertheless, i dont think we have quite yet found a way to monitor their activities real-time. Borrowing from techniques used in tech related forums, where feedback from users is utilized in monitoring the performance of a program or system, we might be able to actually make a break through into accurately unlocking the mysteries into the processing times. This isnt smth new as we have always done it but in a somewhat random and informal manner.

IDEA: Insert a small entry of the following after every post or every 5 posts.

a) Proposed Entry date
b) Date which application was submitted
c)Current Status of application and possible date of status change.

EXAMPLE

Entry : Sept 1
App : 2/4/13
status : Medicals done 5/6/13

or
Entry : Sept 1
App : 2/4/13
status : Processing / Awaiting Medicals

or

Entry : Sept 1
App : 2/4/13
status : TRV approved 10/7/13

This little info might seem simple and irrelevant but it is actually very very powerful. In my opinion i think its an intelligent way to actually use our numbers here to track and monitor the real-time progress at the embassy. It would also help those who might have issues detect such early (for instance, wen people who applied within a certain period all change status within a very short period, those who didn't experience such change would be alert to the fact that there might be a problem and as such call or visit the embassy on time. Also it helps us detect immediately those who made excellent applications and immediately learn from it ( by seeing very short processing durations). Like i said its not new but if we attach it to our posts, it would eliminate unnecessary questions and give us a graphical appreciation of the progress.

Just a personal contribution.

joboy834: Nice 1,bt mind u what we did isn't OPQ. It is personality assessment. OPQ cud be probably given to us after the interview stage. Dt ws what exactly happened in the last recruitment. They were given OPQ after their interview, of which the had already written a personality assessment at the initial stage of the recruitment exercise

kenniy: exactly my initial tots..its was the school that referred maple and even copied them in a reply email, and my initial tot was 'forget it..just do the stuff urself'..but out of curiosity, we tot, whats the harm in asking questions. we asked them (maple) the cost for admission only and specifically told them we are not applying for visa through them. also bear in mind d N50k includes the $100 application fee you would need to pay to the school if you applying directly. i really consider it a good/prudent/time-saving/less-stressful deal at d end day.

Nuendo: actually, 50k isn't too much comparing how difficult and tricky it is at times to secure such admissions. Aldo i always believe you can do it yourself.

Mind u all behaviours in that test is nt positive.If u can knw these negative behaviours which seem or look to be positive, then u dnt have a problem.Any positive behaviour that makes u do things on ur own is not accpetable. The only one dt is acceptable is nt consulting too many pple to mke decisions. It does nt jst show dt u re a quick decision maker, bt also independent minded

N/B- Team work spirit, lover of pple,creativity n innovation is of utmost importance. It comes first before other positive behaviours.

kenniy: in cases like ds, you might consider schools that have agents in nigeria. especially colleges. one i know for sure is algonquin uses maples as their nigerian agent.some others will too. so you send ur transcript and original documents to d agent and they process d admission. i know maple charges N50,000 for same service, but i still think its worth considering.

when i applied, i didnt use any agents.. but as at when i started, i still had time, and i did send all documents to d school.. at d point of sending my original certificate, i used dhl for security/efficiency reasons, and i requested a pickup via dhl to get my certificate back. dt to n fro service alone cost me like N30,000.

when u get the admission, then u can apply directly to d embassy or via vfs urself. i wouldn't consider or advice on using any agent for that.

Pls Can u help with th other links you used to practise apart from the 1 on shl site cos i tried researchn more practse bt don't seem to v seen any other.

Beamn4real: Personality test wz for 25mins(wasn't timed so u can spend as much time as you like).. 52 pages, 2 sets per page, 3 questions per set... U wud choose which is most likely and least likely rep ur personality out of d 3 questions.. I attemptd the online practice test b4 I startd googling and preparing 4 it and also after I felt I had made all necessary preparatns.. D initial report I got wz better than after I had prepared.. In my opinion, shl OPQs are structurd for consistency and if you start givin what u feel are 'right answrs' instead of what ur personality really is, u might mix things up and score low on consistency.. However, if ure good @ imitating another personality, then ride on, but just b consistent.. Wish u guys all d very best.. Cheers

1. Some people go for other programs that they can use to extend their stay....
2. If u have prior work experience from Naija or anywhere u applying from, which is within the last 5yrs u are applying for PR...u can use that...I used mine as well....
3.That one na wrong info bro...Ontario has Provincial Nominee prog as well...I believe that is wat he is referring to...the number of apps accepted maybe more in other provinces than Ontario ...cos last yr...Ontario only accepted 1000 applicants...so...chances are bigger in other Province than Ontario...Ontario is pretty much has biggest population

Siga: ....I was lucky I got a job 1 month after my program...so...I got a Postgraduate work permit of 1yr...then after 6months of work...I applied for PR...PR came 4months after work permit don die...called immigration to notify them my work permit don die...I was advise no worry...continue working as you are legal since u already put in ur PR apps....so..na so so prayer say make dem approve am ...and luckily...I was granted....

2. I don't tink having 2.1 does mean u must go 4 msc direct, u may just want to do a short course-certificate course(8months) or pgd if u wanna major in somethn diff frm ur first degree #justsayn

Huzzie: My good peeps in d house,wats good?. I jst tot I shud update d house wit my UNBC admission, I wasn't admitted because of unavailability of supervisor to match my research interest,though, I was said to be qualified for d prog.
I am looking at Jan start date in Humber college and I have sent my docx, hopefully by June I shud send my docx to CDHC for processing once I get my admission letter..I want 2 blief dt CDHC won't ponder on my decision to go for PG wiv a 2.1 CGPA.

A student who can meet all of the following criteria may be eligible for aid:

1) MALES ONLY be registered with the Selective Service System (for Conscription in the United States) between the ages of 18 and 25

3) has a valid Social Security number;

- A scanned copy of my passport's bio data page
- A scanned passport photograph
- The TRV form
- The family information form
- The schedule 1 form
- My admission letter
- My funding letter from the department and
- My letter of interest.

In my understanding, your letter of interest should be detailed stating your objectives, how you have followed through with it, and your future plans.
