Most applicants with your timelines have received PERS .Do you have a previous UCI number?....if yes,you can check your status with ECAs link.
If all else fail ,you maynhave to send a mail to CIC to ask for the update on your application package.

Again i finished with 2.56/4.
Is it possible for my cgpa to be increased WES using WES despite the fact that my school 's overall cgpa is 4.0..

ebdib: Wes icap permanently stores your details for future use.
It's expensive however
Wes verification can be a frustrating experience if you dont start early and as far from your admission deadline as possible

osahons9: You will send them your transcript, they will verify it with your school and then evaluate it and mail u a copy. This is not suppose to take more than a month all things being equal. But as you know, some universities here in Nigeria are something else. It takes them forever to verify the transcript and this tend to delay the process. Ermmmmm what I am trying to say is mine took 3 months

This is problem oooooo.
I schooled in a polytechnic though.
But who owns the delay? WES or naaija?

olusola009: I want you to know that GPA alone doesn't give one admission, everythin works all together(GPA, STATEMENT OF PURPOSE,RECOMMENDATION LETTER, GRE) just as you have said low GPA, low GPA must be accompanied with good ST, RL and very good GRE score. Again you have to work on school search, there are some schools that accept 2.7/4.0 some school that request GPA of 3.0/4.0 might even accept you conditionally. So don't be discourage apply to schools.

osahons9: I think there is little or no need for these calculations. WES pays more attention to the last 3 years (Upper) in university. that actually determines where u end up. I had 3.15/5 n wes evaluated to 3.03/4. QED

Please may i know how many weeks or days it took WES to send you their own translation.......

I pray I have money because some people on this thread/forum deserves to be monetarily compensated for the good and free consultancy they are doing. I am proud to be a member on this forum.

Rijo02: This is really a nice piece. Let each and every person here apply this as it concerns you. The US is not easy and will never change to be for international students. I thought I will start making monies when I arrived here considering I have assistantship that waived my tuition to $25 per semester and I have $1300/mo pay. On the contrary, there are other fees (Health Insurance, Lab Fees, Transport, Technology, etc) which I have to pay that will deduct stuffs from my paycheck ( State n Federal Taxes inclusive).

That said, the US is nice if you plan well. Am here for 14 days, settling into the new environment but have got my SSN which came less than 1 week after application (Unusual to my employer) and Driver's licence in view (Just for ID seek ooo).

My Advise: If your a graduate student in the science field, though you have your career interests, try and find interest in something else that easily help create funding and bring you here. Eg., I met a Nigerian Medical doctor who came here for MSc in Public health. He had is eye in the residency program but he cant make it there from Nigeria. He finished his MSc n now in the residence program with $50k pay. I admire his tact. A Chinese lady finished Msc in Food nutrition and went to the medical school. She has her green card now even with recommendation from her Food nutrition professor.

We are good, smart and intelligent Nigerians. We are really blessed by God. Lets move ahead and achieve that which we desire.

sorry bro cos I am a lil bit confused. Do u mean one can easily diversify into something economically sensible as the Master progresses? Or can one do masters in another discipline other than what one applied for in an attempt to stilll diversify once its still related to ones field...

I wanna apply as a graduate student cos i have an HND qualification in elect elect majoring in telecoms and they dont seem to have the course sef but can i switch to another related course for my masters. ..

However, having a WES-translated degree can also be helpful because a WES translation of your transcripts and certificate into the US-equivalent can be used to find a white-collar job in US. Most white-collar job employers in the US prefer US B.Sc. degrees to foreign degrees. A friend of mine in Texas who is a banker got the job because they required his B.sc and when he told them it was a foreign degree, they were about to deny him the job until he remembered he had recently translated using WES into the US equivalent, and then sent it in, in lieu of his original Nigerian certificate, and he was accepted for the job. He almost got denied his job but for his WES translation.
