British plane landed in emergency inside Russia yet U.K has sanctioned Russia. Nigeria didn’t beg.

He wanted and badly needed that assurance because he is a coupist. A democratically elected government of BurkinaFaso will never be scared of any Nigerian military airplane having an emergency landing inside their country.

It's only a psychopath who will wish Nigeria goes to war with a tiny, impoverished landlocked Burkina Faso.

Opposition are drawing parallel with the Chibok girls. I could remember when Chibok girls were kidnapped, GEJ denied it, it took him a week or two before he could come to terms and unfortunately, the girls were far too gone. But the current administration is swinging into actions immediately to have the girls back. Big difference.

PoliticsRe: Wike Vs Soldiers - Full Analysis Of Today's Gaduwa Land Confrontation by telleyway: 7:03am On Nov 12, 2025
Iagos:
Fellow Nairalanders, the internet has been buzzing since this morning over the dramatic confrontation between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and soldiers at a property in Gaduwa, Abuja. Let me break down what really happened and analyze who was right.

WHAT HAPPENED

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Minister Wike led FCTA officials to inspect a land in Gaduwa when armed soldiers blocked them from entering. The property is allegedly linked to former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo.

The confrontation got heated! The minister shouted, one officer told him "I will not shut up," and Wike called the soldier "a very big fool." The soldier kept repeating "I am not a fool sir, I am acting on orders."

WIKE'S POSITION

According to the FCT Minister:
- The property has NO valid title documents
- There are NO proper building approvals from FCTA
- Development Control officials were chased away by armed soldiers when they tried to enforce a stop-work order
- He had already directed that work should stop on the plot
- He spoke with the Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Naval Staff who assured him the matter would be resolved amicably

Wike's question: "How can someone who held such high office not come to my office to explain his situation but instead use soldiers to intimidate people?"

THE SOLDIERS' POSITION

The military officers claimed:
- They were acting on orders (from the former Chief of Naval Staff)
- Everything was acquired legally
- One officer insisted he was "an officer with integrity"
- They refused to budge despite the minister's threats

WHO WAS RIGHT? MY ANALYSIS

On the Land Issue:
If truly no proper FCT documentation exists (as Wike claims), then the minister is right to enforce planning regulations. No one should be above the law, military or civilian. However, the soldiers claim everything was legal - so the truth depends on whether proper documentation exists.

On the Officer's Conduct:
This is where e shock me! Was the officer right to engage a minister like that?

MY HONEST ANSWER: NO!

Here's why:
1. The soldiers were taking orders from a FORMER Chief of Naval Staff (retired officer), not their current chain of command
2. They were blocking a serving civilian government minister from performing official duties
3. The confrontational manner (arguing back, refusing orders) violated military discipline
4. In a democracy, military must be subordinate to civilian authority

Yes, soldiers should follow orders, but these orders came from a retired official, not their current commanders. The proper thing would have been to respectfully state their position while deferring to civilian authority, or let current military leadership resolve the issue through proper channels.

THE BIG QUESTIONS FOR NAIRALAND:

1. Should a former Chief of Naval Staff be using soldiers to guard private property?
2. Is this not abuse of military privilege?
3. Why didn't the former CNS approach the FCT Minister's office officially if he had legitimate documents?
4. Should the soldier be dismissed for insubordination?
5. Who truly owns this land legally?

Some politicians are already calling for the soldier's dismissal. The CDS and CNS have promised to resolve the matter amicably.

What do you think, Nairalanders? Who was right? Should the soldie&r be punished or praised for standing his ground?

Some times people use words without actually knowing their meanings. There are a lot of loopholes in your writing, just trying hard to defend your drunken master.
1) you stated in your writing that the CDs assured wike that the issue will be resolved peacefully. That clearly tells you that the present military management is in the know of the matter, and not as you painting it that the guy is taking orders from a retired military officer.
2) you talked about insubordination. The officer is not and will never take orders from wike. So where did insubordination comes from? Mind you, minister is not president.
3) For wike to publicly engaged and insult an officer tells much about his lack of discipline. And if you must know, only military authority can punish any officer.
4) military officers are not to be worshipping civilian power drunk ministers, there are rules of engagement and your super minister should have known better.

PoliticsRe: US Bombing Of Bandits In Nigeria Will Worsen Killings — Sheikh Gumi by telleyway: 1:41pm On Nov 04, 2025
chiagozien:
US Bombing Of Bandits In Nigeria Will Worsen Killings; Best Solution Is Negotiation With Them" — Sheikh Gum

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Gumi said the U.S. has a record of deceit and destructive interference in other nations’ affairs, citing its failed war on terror in Afghanistan and the destabilisation of Iraq and Libya.

ontroversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, has criticised the United States over reports suggesting it might intervene militarily against terrorists in Nigeria, describing the U.S. as a “nation of liars” and warning that any bombing campaign would worsen the country’s insecurity.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Gumi said the U.S. has a record of deceit and destructive interference in other nations’ affairs, citing its failed war on terror in Afghanistan and the destabilisation of Iraq and Libya.

“America are known to be liars,” Gumi said. “They said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and there were none. They have caused confusion in Iraq, in Libya, and everywhere. So when they say they want to help Nigeria by bombing terrorists, I don’t believe them.”

"So when they say Christians are killing, or there is massacre of Christians in Nigeria, from which side, they didn't specify whether it is the government, or whether it is the Muslims that are doing it. Or even if Christians are targeted, whatever it is. If Americans can cure and eliminate the terrorists, I will welcome it myself."

He added that if the same offer had come from China or Russia, Nigerians might be more inclined to believe in their sincerity, arguing that those nations “do not poke their noses into other people’s internal affairs.”

"If it's China coming to say that, people will believe it. Because China is not pokenosing into our internal affairs. If it's Russians, people will believe them."

The cleric warned that a U.S.-led military strike in Nigeria would lead to massive civilian casualties and deepen the country’s crisis.

He said, "But I know they cannot. Let me tell you, they have fought 20 years in Afghanistan, they could not finish them. Afghanistan is in Syria now.

"The same thing. And this terrorist you see, it's not easy to just come and drop bombs here and there, and think you've finished them. They have infiltrated the society.

"So it's going to cause more damage. More Muslims and more Christians will be killed if America would drop a bomb in Nigeria. I'm telling you this. And you can take it for a record. So what we are trying to avoid, we are going to even compound it. Look, myself, I have been trying to see how we can pacify these people
"I've been going to see how we can pacify these people and redirect them. Because they are human beings. They listen and reason. But if you say you want to use force against force, then you will compound the problem and make the thing dirty," Gumi said.

He pointed out that the Nigerian military, despite years of combat experience, has struggled to defeat Boko Haram and armed bandits, suggesting that foreign intervention would only compound the problem.
"If Nigerian army, which has been very active in many hotspots, cannot deal with this issue for 15 years with Boko Harams, and now the bandits. And to me, the bandits are even more vicious.Because they are active,” he said.

Gumi, who has in the past engaged directly with armed groups in the forests of northern Nigeria, defended his controversial peace missions, saying dialogue remains the only viable path to lasting security.
When asked about his encounters with the terrorists, Gumi explained that his approach has been to understand their grievances and persuade them to abandon violence.
“You see, just to entice them to leave their weapons. You see, one thing good about it is, you see, you don't treat a disease without diagnosis. If a doctor can diagnose a disease, even if it's cancer, he will know how to manage it.

"So the good thing about it is now we have, before we are fighting a phantom, we don't know something is fighting us, coming to take us. We don't know that person. Now, by going to talk with them and sit down with them and to hear their grievances and understand their psychology, so we are able now to contain the problem.
"Now, Kaduna is relatively safe. I can say from, you don't hear any more mass killings now in Kaduna because we understand their psychology and the governor is cooperating. We are talking to them and they are keeping their weapons."
He added that while many of the armed groups still hold their weapons, they are no longer actively fighting, describing the process as “gradual but effective.”

“Slowly, we will civilize them, take away their weapons, and make them good citizens,” Gumi said. “But using force against force will only make things worse.”

The cleric reiterated his warning that any attempt by the United States to launch airstrikes in northern Nigeria would escalate tensions and result in needless deaths.
“I’m telling you, bombing will not solve this problem. It will make it dirty,” he said

Something big is happening in Nigeria’s financial space. While most people are still struggling with failed bank apps and POS charges, one Chinese-backed fintech company has quietly taken over.

OPay started as a small mobile wallet, but today, it’s processing trillions of naira monthly, serving over 40 million Nigerians, and outperforming several major banks in daily transactions.

In this new video, we break down:

How OPay rose during the 2023 cash crisis
Why millions of Nigerians now prefer it over traditional banks

The Chinese investment behind its success
And what this means for the future of banking in Nigeria

What do you think?
Is OPay helping Nigeria’s financial system grow, or are we handing too much power to a foreign tech giant?

Let’s discuss.
The uselessness, too much greed and inconsequential services/policies in Nigerian banking sector has permanently handed Nigeria financial base to foreign tech giants.

PoliticsRe: Reno Omokri's Endless Tirade Against Peter Obi: Bitter Rejection Or Petty Vendet by telleyway: 6:54am On Oct 07, 2025
babydioku:
Reno Omokri's Endless Tirade Against Peter Obi: Bitter Rejection or Petty Vendetta?
In the swirling vortex of Nigerian politics, few spectacles are as predictable—and frankly, as embarrassing—as Reno Omokri's relentless fixation on Peter Obi. The former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan, now a self-styled social media provocateur, seems unable to let a day pass without invoking the Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate. Whether it's a minor policy tweak by the Tinubu administration or a global event tangentially linked to Nigeria, Omokri drags Obi into the fray, often with hyperbolic accusations and thinly veiled personal jabs. This isn't mere political discourse; it's an obsession that borders on the pathological, and it reeks of unresolved resentment from a snubbed olive branch extended during the heat of the 2023 elections.

Omokri's social media timeline reads like a one-man crusade against the man he once positioned himself to serve. A quick scroll through his X (formerly Twitter) feed reveals a pattern: in 2023, as Obi surged in popularity with his "Obidient" movement, Omokri's posts were a barrage of critiques, from dismissing Obi's economic credentials to mocking his campaign promises. By December of that year, he was gleefully highlighting how Labour Party governors like Alex Otti were cozying up to President Bola Tinubu, implying Obi's isolation. Fast-forward to 2025, and the vitriol hasn't waned—it's intensified. Omokri now accuses Obi of plotting "regime change" abroad, fanning flames of religious division, and even undermining Nigeria's unity with fabricated tales of Christian genocide. In one particularly unhinged thread, he ties Obi's Washington visit to a sudden uptick in U.S. media criticism of Nigeria, as if the former Anambra governor is puppeteering American talk shows from afar.

This isn't random antagonism; it's the hallmark of a man scorned. Whispers from political insiders—and Omokri's own cryptic boasts—point to a pivotal moment in early 2023. As Obi's star rose, Omokri, leveraging his experience as a Jonathan-era strategist and his massive online following, reportedly offered his services to the Labour Party camp. He envisioned himself as a key advisor, perhaps even a bridge-builder to moderate PDP elements disillusioned with Atiku Abubakar. Obi, ever the pragmatist focused on a youth-driven, grassroots movement, politely declined. No drama, no public fallout—just a quiet "thanks, but no thanks." For a figure like Omokri, whose ego is as outsized as his follower count, rejection stings like a slap from fate.

Evidence of this bitterness seeps through Omokri's own words. In a bizarre 2025 claim, he alleged that Obi had unsolicitedly sent him a CV to become Atiku's running mate—a complete inversion of the narrative, as if to retroactively paint himself as the gatekeeper Obi desperately courted. Elsewhere, he's released purported emails of Obi "begging" for his endorsement, a move that smacks of desperate revisionism. These aren't the actions of a confident critic; they're the desperate flourishes of someone rewriting history to soothe a bruised pride. Omokri, who once positioned himself as a kingmaker in Nigerian politics, couldn't stomach being sidelined by a "trader" like Obi, as he derisively calls him.

The folly deepens when you consider the opportunity cost. Omokri's talent for viral commentary could be a force for constructive debate—holding the Tinubu government accountable on issues like insecurity or economic reforms without descending into personal vendettas. Instead, he's reduced to fact-twisting spectacles, like claiming Obi ignored demolitions in Anambra but decried them in Lagos, or alleging the LP flagbearer is waging a "religious war" against Muslims. His followers lap it up, but to neutral observers, it's clownish: a grown man, a pastor no less, frothing at the mouth over a perceived slight from two years ago. In one post, he even prays publicly that Obi never becomes president—a petty incantation that undermines his self-proclaimed spiritual authority.

Peter Obi, for his part, has largely ignored the noise, focusing on policy critiques and community engagements. His dignified silence only amplifies Omokri's desperation, turning what could have been a footnote in election lore into a full-blown embarrassment. Nigerians deserve better than this sideshow; we need voices that unite rather than ones that obsess over old wounds.

Reno Omokri's Peter Obi fixation isn't just unbecoming—it's self-sabotage. By harping on every "slightest opportunity," he's not exposing Obi's flaws; he's laying bare his own. It's time for Omokri to shake the table elsewhere and let go of the grudge. After all, in politics, rejection isn't the end—it's just the universe's way of saying, "Try harder next time." But for now, this endless loop makes him look less like a table-shaker and more like a fool chasing shadows.
Obi is one Reno's biggest benefactors as he's using Obi's pupolarity to cash out. Those who are into content creation knows better .
If Reno can swallow all that he said about Tinubu and is projecting him now as the masiah, you should know there's nothing he can't do as long as he stomach is filled.

I know they'll use federal might to suppress perceived opposition strongholds as it's presently been done in Lagos. However, Obi will get better outing in terms of State spread.

DomPerignon:
Giringory's purported BSc degree which he claims was issued by UNN, has an issued and signed date of 15th December, 1984.

The only problem is that the 15th of December , 1984 fell on a Saturday.
Go and verify.
You can take Peter Obi to court if you found him wanting.
Besides, it was private individuals that took Tinubu certificate to court and not Nigerian government. Be patriotic
