I noticed my car has been shortening oil, I changed the PCV its still shorting oil but not as much as before.

Please what can i do?

Make i chuk mouth 4 dis installation . Panels are 380w* 6 exulted eagle with Voc 67v and Isc 7a. Load is abt 900w to 1kw contnious. Batteries na lithium 24v 173ah. We plan to add extra 6.

With all d six panels battery turns out @ predefined cut off of 24.5v. At abt 5 to 6pm in the evening.

The problem now is mppt input current max is 15A. Going by 7*2*1.25(safety factor). Dat is 17.5A. Me n u kno say we nor go see 7A.

Me i was suggesting 6s2p. Another suggestion was 2 use a seperate cc n parallel d incoming six panels 2 charge up the battery.Was ur take oga

from your calculations, the CC cannot be used for the 2 arrays right

if your inverter mppt is the high pv type, then u should series all. if not 2s3p is the best.

Does an increase voltage for the solar arrays cause the Battery to charge faster?

How do we then apply the Current rating of the CC as well as the max power?

Mostly is advisable to use battery equaliser for a 48volt system cos of stuff like this, normally what I do on site when I want to install 4 battery is that I will parallel all battery with a DC cable first thing first, then continue with other activity, I do that to balance the battery voltage to prevent issue like this. Once the battery with 11.8 reaches 11volt, then ur inverter will start buzzing. To solve the disparity in voltage, disconnect d 4battery from the inverter n charge controller, place them on a spacious place, get a 16mm DC cable n connect all Positive terminal together n do same for Negative terminals too... but u have to be extra ordinarily careful when doing it cos d positive cable mustn't come in contact with the negative cable or better still, get an engineer to help u with it. I base in Ibadan in case u also resident here

I have used and installed and worked with "sachet" inverters and "transformer ", I still prefer the sachet ones oh -- atleast for my needs; which include a 1.5hp inverter ac.

I had a sachet inverter that took in water like a fish, dude kept working. I didn't appreciate the hell it went through till the day I was around and there was a storm and I saw how wind blew torrents of rain unto the inverter...I come de feel like one kain heartless installer . Infact the two cooling fans died with months apart and I was wondering what was killing them. The inverter overtemp protection worked everytime!!

The only part I miss from transformer types is the ATS, but again I'm probably 95% offgrid, so?

I have currently upgraded to a 5kw sachet but with better protection from the elements, and it's been working 24/7.

Even, if e die e no to cost to replace, compared to the transformer type of same capacity.

PS: I don work with some premium brands too, so I have a little experience of both premium and not so premium and basic.

Does this mean you are off-grid completely?

not used it, but deployed the powmr cc for many years and zero issues. also know someone using the 5.5kw powmr inverter for 1 year plus, zero issues. most hybrids once you protect it properly from voltage fluctuations and surges...you are good to go.

a 12v 1.5kw inverter with inbuilt CC that can handle 2kw panels, 60amps grid charging also.. all for below 200k. its a very rare combo...nuthin comes close in that class

Reason I prefer it off the roof completely where I can tilt to best angle. Airflow is no issue at all--a critical part most installers do not consider.

A couple of people here sell original batteries. If you want lithium batteries, speak with Valto or 2 other guys whose adverts I have seen here in passing.

If you want lead acid batteries, a sales manager from Idyllic is here. You can also check previous threads for contacts. I am almost sure that no reputable person here will sell or recommend a bad battery for you.

It is not advisable walking into a random store, online or offline, to buy batteries. You will most likely buy a fake battery. And fake batteries fail in 3 - 6 months (if you are lucky, 9 months), so it will be nearly impossible to have it returned. The seller will blame it on you that you either didn't charge it well or overcharged it. I speak out of direct experience.

Please i have been using Honda Engine Oil 5W-30 for my car and which has been working very fine altoght after 5000Km it short a little.

The last time i serviced, the oil was not available so i used Hardex 5W-30, i noticed i hvae not gotten to 1500km and the oil has so short is at the middle of the dip stick which is very unsual. The car is not smoking.

What could be wrong?

Is the oil bad or not fit for the car..

Any recommendations please

Quickly isssolate / seperate the battery with much lower voltage and charge it seperately.
When it fulls, add load seperately to it and watch how quickly it drops. that should give a simple idea if it's bad or not.

I noticed my battery discharge has increased astronomically.

Usually the Battery level do not drop more than 0.2v over night. But now i noticed it is dropping by 2.2v and up to 3V sometimes

Its not like the load has changed, it is the same load i use in the house.

Also, i decided to check the battery levels with a voltmeter and noticed one of the battery is 12.7V and the other was about 10V

What could be wrong and what do you advise i do?

I would say anchor all dividing walls horizontally, that's is across so they don't pull apart, chisel the edges of the lintel and connect with 4 physical bars and pour fresh concrete mix on it,(Rich ), Do This at least a eek B4 pouring the net floor.

Secondly, build right, don't cut corners.

I'm not sure the foundation of this structure is solid, it must have shifted or sunk.

Soil type too is a major factor to consider when building, some soils will seem strong in dry season but becomes something else when enough water wets it.

from the discussion so far.. Seem the last reason is the issue.

The engineer says there was settlement in the are due to continuous rainfall in the area.

@Temi4fash, nothing is wrong with your battery.

For any 24V system, an AGM battery irrespective of the amp hour, at 25.9V your battery (if it's on a load and not connected to any charging source) is doing well above 98% *this is me trying to be modest*.
It is actually at 100%, if it is at 25.9V, and if it is not being charged at that point in time, so relax.

Nonetheless, work towards buying and hooking up your batteries with quality solar panels (I do recommend you oversize your PV array around 20-30% extra, so long its voltage is adequately below the maximum Voc of your charger) to keep your battery bank often in good shape, for a longer life.

So, do not fret, just enjoy your set up.

The engineer actually recommended it, but we felt since he was still going to do that at the decking level there was no need at the lintel level.

But he is recommending that we remove all of the lintel and connect the iron beams.

Also saying we pull down the very obvious cracked walls

It looks as though there was no German flooring at DPC making water to percolate in the building for a long going by non roofing and weed there. These may have resulted to differential settlement of the foundation.

If the lintels were properly chained together, it wouldn't have been this obvious.

The span of the wall is long, shorten it by introducing pillars where necessary.
Poorly moulded blocks, and your blocks are carrying loads(load bearing blocks suppose be quality)
Poor foundation, which is reacting to ground vibration.

We meet the foundation there and just did some bit of correction, German floor and built.
It's been there for over 1 year.. We were just trying to raise money for the decking. For the quality of blocks, we were told it was strong. There are pillars in between long spans too.

Connect a smart charge that will maintain a float voltage. It's not as if it would drain completely if you don't keep it connected. You should only worry if you won't use the battery daily.

The battery is Icell AGM Battery

The load is just lighting bulbs, the energy saver ones.

Sometimes even before any load, once the NEPA goes off, we have the drop in voltage even before any load.

But the load is the energy saver in the house

Hello Sirs,

I was not in the house for some days, i noticed my inverter charged my batteries up to 28.6V when still connected to NEPA.

Immediately i put it on load it dropped to 26.5 and rapidly up to 25.9V and stabilises there and do not drop rapidly again.

What can be the problem?
