This is what happens when you don't value your own name? Your reasoning is just why many of us hates our traditional names and decides to go for English names or foreign names. Mercedes Benz was named after the owner, same goes to many others. Why do we hate our own ways and prefer STRANGE offers?

Phones / Tecno Pouvoir 4 Is The First Mediatek Phone To Get Android 11 Beta by temitofa(m): 8:41pm On Jul 16, 2020
Transsion Holdings subsidiary Tecno has in the recent years been enjoying a good market share in Africa and decent share in other regions where it is present despite the presence of brands like Xiaomi, Samsung and Nokia. This seems to be necessitating the recent change in the brand’s strategy. Tecno which is previously poor in terms of pushing updates to its smartphone has announced the rollout of Android 11 Developer Preview for its latest smartphone – Tecno Pouvoir 4.

The Pouvoir 4 is the first smartphone powered by a MediaTek SoC to be joining the developer preview program for Android 11. Apart from Google’s Pixel series, other brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, and OPPO have released similar Android 11 beta builds for their phones. However, all the models on the program before now are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs.

The Pouvoir 4 features a MediaTek Helio A22 (MT6761) chipset and even though it was possible to technically flash Android 11 GSIs on non-Snapdragon devices, a build officially compiled by the OEM ensures better stability.

TellForce Blog recalls Tecno also participated in the Android Q beta testing in 2019 with the release of a pre-release build of Android 10 for the  Spark 3 Pro. Tecno Spark 3 Pro is powered by an Helio A22 chipset.

Since this is a pre-release build, it comes with several limitations such as possible problems with apps, stability, battery, or performance on the device. Also, some apps might crash or may not function as expected when running on this release. This includes Google’s apps as well as other apps. In addition, users may experience the issue of some apps or icons getting obscured by the water drop screen and poor camera output.

If own a Pouvoir 4 and want to install Android 11 beta 1 on it, simply follow the quick guide below:

Phones / Why Twitter May Never Get An ‘edit’ Button, Says CEO by temitofa(m): 4:07am On Jan 17, 2020
One of the most requested features by Twitter users is the ability to edit tweets, but perhaps it’s time for users to give up and forget about that wish ever becoming real. The reason for saying this is because of a recent video interview with Wired, Twitter’s founder and CEO, Jack Dorsey.

He said that while the company has considered bringing on an Edit button, it is pretty much not pleased with its implementation because it will be going against the very essence of the platform.

Answering a question on whether the site is planning to introduce an edit button for Twitter in 2020, Dorsey replied with a emphatic ‘No’. According to him, the ability to edit tweets will go against the very essence of the platform, which was envisaged as an alternative to text messaging, what with its 160 character limit and all.

“We started as an SMS, text message service. And as you all know, when you send a text, you can’t really take it back. We (want) to preserve that vibe, that feeling”, he said.

Phones / Banks To Charge You For Recharging Via USSD As From October 21 by temitofa(m): 9:08pm On Oct 19, 2019
USSD airtime recharge option is one of the fastest, (in fact the fastest on some occasions) and the easiest. It also comes in very handy when traveling or stranded in a new location and you are in need of urgent top-up for either data or voice calls.

It is far better than even the banks’ apps and third party apps in terms of convenience, since you do not need to login and go through the hassle of typing a password. USSD does not also requires internet connection to get your airtime topped-up.

In fact, one of thing that makes it preferable to other options is that It is completely free, but that is about to change as banks will soon start charging people for using USSD to top-up.

MTN has started sending SMS to its customers regarding the End User Billing for Bank USSD Services. The SMS reads;

“Yello, as requested by your bank, from Oct 21, we will start charging you directly for USSD access to banking services. Please contact your bank for more info.”
