Instagram is one of the most popular social media but it's has started accomodating some unwanted users who would never stop using abusive or offensive words like those on Twitter.

To combat this problem of some users taking advantage of anonymity to abuse the platform, Instagram has decided to launch a new feature which can automatically block offensive comments.

This filter works for comments both in posts and live video, and will block them if it finds abusive or offensive.

"Many of you have told us that toxic comments discourage you from enjoying Instagram and expressing yourself freely. To help, we’ve developed a filter that will block certain offensive comments on posts and in live video. All other comments will appear as they normally do and you can still report comments, delete comments or turn them off. Also, you can always turn this filter off. To access it, click the “…” settings menu from the profile and scroll to tap “Comments.”

"We’ll launch this comment filter in English first, but will offer it in more languages over time."

Another newly introduced feature is a new spam filter. It searches for any obvious spam in comments and block it from both posts and live videos. The filter will only work on posts written in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French, German, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.

It says "Powered by machine learning, today’s filters are our latest tools to keep Instagram a safe place. Our team has been training our systems for some time to recognize certain types of offensive and spammy comments so you never have to see them.

The tools will improve over time, enabling the community’s experience of sharing to improve as well. We hope to make these filters available in more languages as our algorithms improve."

Facebook is regarded by most people as a home for all manner of news. An abode for any kind of information one needs in life.

However, if one is searching for reliable and original news, there is possibility that you go astray if you live in Facebook. Even in recent times, Facebook itself shows that it has been struggling to curtail this fake news itself by launching a new feature that allows users to confirm the authenticity of the news.

Though Facebook is doing its best but another branch of the same company appears to be doing better in terms of getting credible and reliable news. Rendering to a study performed by the Reuters Institute for the study of Journalism, WhatsApp is seen as a more reliable source of information.

Though Facebook is still one of the most prevalent social media for its users to the latest occurrence in the world and around them but it appears that a significant number of its believer in terms of news has declined.

The research by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism involved a total of 71,805 people across 36 countries. It was discovered that in more than half of these 36 nations, the total percentage of people putting your faith in Facebook as a source of news has drastically dropped.

The study shown that 47% of respondents use social media to keep themselves up-to-date of current affairs, whether locally or globally. But again, the percentage of people that believes WhatsApp as a trusted news home is just 15%.

Though, when breaking down the analysis according to the countries, the figures varies. About 51 percent of persons in Malaysia depend on WhatsApp for their news, as do people in Brazil (46 percent) and Chile (39 percent).

This reduction in numbers for Facebook could be owed to a number of reasons. These numbers appear to have dropped across several other platforms like print media. A factor that influences this is the individual’s age and where they desire to get their news from.

However, generally, the number of persons relying on print media like newspapers and so on has dropped throughout all age groups. Most of them now consults online media outfits or TV.

Another factor is the circulation of fake news on Facebook which is most likely to have contributed to the drop in Facebook’s numbers.

A 48-year-old Nigerian man was savagely pulled out of a train by two ticket inspectors of the Deutsche Bahn German train system because he did not have a ticket. The man had been discovered when the inspectors got to him during a check.

Upon discovery, they asked him to show an ID card and pay a €60 fine but when he couldn't, he was forced out of the train.

A witness captured the inspectors on camera as they engaged in a struggle with the man who vehemently refused to leave the train. The Nigerian fare-dodger held on to metal handrails and refused to let go as two men in uniform struggled to get him out of the train headed to Munich city center from the airport. One of the inspectors can be seen grabbing the man's neck and pulling him towards the door while another tried to remove the man's hand from the rail.

A woman filming the scuffle can be heard screaming at the inspectors and accusing them of racism. She said the guy did not do anything and had given them €9 in cash out of the €60 fine he was asked to pay.

She can be heard saying: “It’s absolutely not OK what you’re doing, the guy didn’t do anything to you. You should be ashamed of yourself, this is racism what you’re doing. Why are you doing this? He paid.”

The woman continues filming until someone seemingly tries to stop her. She later told Huffington Post that the Nigerian man pleaded with the men and told them €9 was all he had and he needed it for food, yet they collected it from him and still threw him out of the train.

When the inspectors finally got the man out on the platform at Leuchtenbergring station, he was forced to the ground with his face pressing against the asphalt. The same woman can be heard yelling at the inspectors again, saying it's “because he’s black.”

Commenting on the incident later, Deutsche Bahn, the company operating trains in Germany, said it was “unusual to receive only partial payments”. The company also stated that the man was acting aggressively and refused to leave the train and that's what led the inspectors to use force. The witness, however, refuted this and described the man as having remained calm.

She shared the video on her Facebook account, adding a caption that suggested he was rough handled because he was black. The post sparked outrage with a lot of people commenting that it had nothing to do with racism and the man was at fault for not paying then refusing to comply with the inspectors.

Bitcoin has lost close to 10% since Ethereum's flash crash on Wednesday

It's a rough start to the week for bitcoin. The cryptocurrency trades down 7.29% on Monday, at $2,379 a coin, a one-week low.
Bitcoin is sinking
The action seems to be a continuation of the selling that developed on Wednesday, when rival Ethereum flash-crashed from $296 to 10 cents before recovering its losses.

Bitcoin is down about 13.6% since Wednesday's opening print.

The recent weakness in bitcoin follows a run-up of more than 200% to start the year. Bitcoin's 2017 gains have been propelled by heavy buying from China and Japan.

Recent strength has come on the heels of China's three biggest exchanges resuming withdrawals for the first time since February, and Japan naming bitcoin a legal payment method in early April.

Additionally, Russia's largest online retailer began accepting bitcoin, even though Russia has said it wouldn't consider the use of the cryptocurrency until 2018.

But the gains have created some skepticism as of late. The billionaire Mark Cuban called bitcoin a "bubble" as the cryptocurrency hit its then-all-time high on June 6.

"I think it's in a bubble. I just don't know when or how much it corrects," Cuban tweeted. "When everyone is bragging about how easy they are making $=bubble."

About a week later, Goldman Sachs' head of technical strategy, Sheba Jafari, said bitcoin was looking "heavy" and could drop as low as $1,915 before seeing a rally. It put in a low of $2,076 before rallying to almost $2,800.

There remains one big unknown. In March, the US Securities and Exchange Commission rejected two bitcoin exchange-traded funds. It has since taken public comment on its decision about an ETF proposed by the Winklevoss twins, but it has not made an additional ruling.

Google has been under investigation for some times now over an allegation of abuse of its power as the leading search engine, in order to promote Google Shopping over its rivals in the price-comparison market. The probe is conducted by the EU.

Google has now been fined €2.42 billion ($2.72 billion) by the European Commission, after it found Google guilty of breaching EU antitrust rules. The tech titan must halt the practice of dishonestly promoting its service over others via its search engine within 90 days, or it will face a penalty of up to 5% of the average daily worldwide turnover of its parent, Alphabet. Needless to say, that's a lot of money.

According to watchdogs, Google's unlawful practices have led to some of its rivals losing up to 92% of their traffic. The official press release states that some competitors were able to recover a portion of their lost traffic, “but never in full.”
“Google has come up with many innovative products and services that have made a difference to our lives,” Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, in charge of competition policy, said.

“That's a good thing. But Google's strategy for its comparison shopping service wasn't just about attracting customers by making its product better than those of its rivals. Instead, Google abused its market dominance as a search engine by promoting its own comparison shopping service in its search results, and demoting those of competitors.

What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules. It denied other companies the chance to compete on the merits and to innovate. And most importantly, it denied European consumers a genuine choice of services and the full benefits of innovation.”

According to a latest report, the South Korean tech giant is said to have been working on the Galaxy Tab Active 2, which may be officially announced this fall at IFA 2017.

As stated earlier, Samsung targets the industrial and business professionals for its series of Galaxy Tab Active rugged tablets.

The device was dust and water proof, as well as shock proof. Though Galaxy Tab Active tablets' specification were that of entry-level specifications.

Samsung released two variants of this tablet, which includes LTE+Wi-Fi variant and the Wi-Fi only variants. The Korean tech giant is currently working on the Galaxy Tab Active successor.

Technology is thriving in all areas of life and virtually in all parts of the world. Religion is also a beneficiary of this advancement.
However, the sacredness we claim to be in religion which made it special to every human who believe in existence of a supreme is fast fading away.

For instance, two of the most popular religion globally, Christianity and Islam, now have their 'holy books' in electronic form (soft copy) which makes it more accessible to anybody who wish to have them installed on thier devices be it smartphones, tablets, laptops, destktop, e.t.c. In fact, before now, some electronic devices were dedicated for these religions. For example, the old e-bible which was once popular in the early 1990s.

Now, looking at the use of phones as a Christian in church and a Muslim duirng prayers.

As a Christian.
My argument is why as a Christian would I go to church with just a phone? If am asked to raise my bible up as some preacher does, will I raise my phone up?

Below are the reasons why going to church with phone as Bible looks absurd to me;

1. Temptation to login to my social app such as Facebook, Twitter and so on and turning off my data would a way to punish myself because I see it as punishment and not discipline since the preaching is boring. A church member is meant to forget everything he has in this world and dedicate the little he's spending in the church to meditation.

2. Show of gadgets: of course, no one will claim to be innocent of this a particular time. If you claim to be innocent of show off, atleast you must conveted another person's own. Though, stealing may be far from what you feel or jealousy if you say, may be far from you at that instance but you will definitely wish to have such device.

The show off is mostly seen among students or some ladies generally irrespective of their ages. Yes, it's true. Most student would prefer buying an expensive gadgets to eating balance diet or even acquiring study materials to boost their knowledge. An instance is buying an unlock iPhone for $900, only to start begging for food to eat or borrow airtime from the network provider to make call or subscribe for internet connection.

3. The hard copy of the Holy Bible is said to be sacred but can we say our phone is also sacred like the Holy Bible.

A man who burn or tear the Holy Bible would be seen as an agent of the devil. What would be say of a man who burn or decides to destroy his expensive iPhone Samsung Galaxy S8 with Holy Bible installed on it? Most of us will call him a waster.

Do you know how many times I have formatted my phone because of one reason or the other but I cannot burn my old Bible because I have a new one.

4. The same phone some people used to watch pornography materials or what the religion negates is where we have the Holy Bible installed and still use it to pray. Lol!!

Overall, to be honest, we don't respect our phone, not to even talk of the app on it the way we do to our hard copy Holy Bible.

As a Muslim.
Imagine and Imam leading the normal Jumu'ah every Friday via his smartphone. I am very sure 80 to 90% of the congregation will murmur inside the heart.

There is no how a muslim cleric would say he want to have a quiet time with his smartphone or Tablet connected to internet without getting little distraction from one of this social network apps. If he does not, someone would call him or even this network services knows how to distract someone with their unnecessary text messages.

Conclusion.
I am not condemning the infilteration of technology in religion but saying that in the aspect of Holy Books, we may loose the sacredness of the religion to technology as the days go by.

Microsoft has again opened doors for speculations as it has announced an event organized by its Surface department which would be holding on May 23, 2017, in Shanghai. The announcement was made via a tweet shared on Thursday, May 4, by the Surface chief, Panos Panay.

The speculation now is whether the device to be introduced would be the Surface Pro 5 or the Surface Book 2, or it might even be introduction of the two to the technology world.

And another thing coming to my mind could be the introduction of new device which may be entirely different from the Surface Pro 5 or Book 2. Remember that the anytime, the world hears introduction of Surface device, the rumours of Surface Phone resurfaces. That Might actually be possible this time around.

On Thursday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that when Microsoft decides to storm the handset market again, the new models will make the world standstill by wowwing the phone business again. Citing how the Surface line rules tablet business.

Now, talking about Surface tablets, there might be just little changes with Surface Pro 5 compared to Surface Pro 4, although a source from Windows, identified as Paul Thurrott had initially stated that the new model will come with the Intel Kaby Lake processor. The latter is manufactured using the 14nm process, and by implication it should give the device an improved battery life and speed.

17 months ago was when it released Surface Pro 4 to the market, obviously, it's long overdue to get a new model. Recall that Microsoft also took its time to release the successor of Surface Pro 3.

Glo's 3G and 4G data plan has been the best data subscription in terms of volume and may be speed for some locations.

However, for me or even many of its subscribers, the volumes appears to have been a source of consolation or reason for even staying on the network. In summary, the data volume compliments the speed.

Glo seems to be slowest and most inconsistent among the big four Telecommunication providers, virtually in almost all its services ranging from fluctuation experienced in network coverage (its 3G or 4G network services can leave your phone for days and reappears at its own convenient time), data services - you have a strong 3G network but still unable to surf with it.

Also, reaching Glo customer care with a regular line can take up to 24 hours get across an agent (if your phone battery is like that of car battery).

Yet, they have dissappointed most of their subscribers by reducing their data volume. Yes, the new plan is like that of others, for example; MTN's N1,000 will fetch you 1.5GB, same goes to Airtel, except for the stingy Etisalat that gives you 1GB for that amount. Though Etisalat speed is like no other in most locations across the country.

Aforetime, Glo subscribers could get its 'Always Micro' plan at the rate of N1,000, which was 3.2 GB, valid for 30 days, N5,000 will fetch them 24GB before.

Now, all the plans have been sliced to half of what you get few days ago, N1,000 can only get you 1.6GB and same goes for others.

Take on the new Glo Data Volumes: 3G and 4G

Like I said before, it's still not a bad offer, just that we are used to that wonderful volume. The question is, will Glo work on its snail-like speed or will still supply the less wine with same old and dirty bottles.
Remember, MTN and Airtel are not that bad in terms of speed and now have almost the same data volume as Glo. For Etisalat, I can still sacrifice speed for volume, afterall, its just 500MB or I add extra N200 to my N1K to get same 1.5GB.

Well, my romance with Glo 3G data is over now.

On Glo 4G plan, its like browsing inside a good freezer position a hot apartment. Reason for saying that, its very fast but very small volume, you cannot stay there forever or open your fridge for long in order to let out little coolness to your hot room.

Glo 4G would have tempted me to stay on the network but I will need to travel the whole Nigeria or round the globe to get a smartphone that support its 4G LTE network. You see trouble!

Looking beyond my opinion now, will Glo be able to stand its competitors in terms of price? May be they will improve their network, actually, that has been our song from the first day of Glo commenced it operation in Nigeria.

Let's wait and see.

Glo insisted that customers will still get the old bundle volumes if they auto-renew or re-subscribe their current plan within 3 days of expiration or exhaustion.
