The Minister of State for Education, Professor Anthony Onwuka, yesterday, March 26, 2017 has revealed that the Federal government is recommending a new policy that will enable Vice-Chancellors of different institutions to expel students with as low as 0.5 CGPA.

Onwuka who divulged this at the 31st convocation of the University of Port Harcourt, noted that students with as low as 0.5 CGPA have no business in the University and should no longer be housed.

“We must stop to continue housing adventurers, who have no business remaining in the universities beyond the time specified for their studies in the universities.

“In that wise, it is being proposed that at the end of this academic year, any student with less than 0.5 CGPA should cease to be a student of the university and should be shown the way out.

“The universities must continue to have people who are serious in what they have come to do. If you have less than 0.5 in your CGPA, you are out. You are out for good so that the space will be left for those who have come to do serious business." Onwuka said

A 38-year-old Spaniard bullfighter is presently recuperating at a hospital after Anal reconstruction surgery was carried out on him following an attack from bull with 11-inch horn on his bum.

He is identified as Antonio Romero, a professional bullfighter and was attacked during an annual bull-running celebration in Mexico City last Sunday.

Romero was quickly rushed to a hospital after the terrible incident left his anal sphincter damaged that left him in a need for urgent surgery to restore his anus to its normal state.

The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Friday, March 24, 2017 has justified the arrest of only yoruba suspects over the recent clash between Yoruba and Hausa communities in Ile-Ife of Osun State, which led to the death of about 46 persons.

The IGP said crime does not have tribe or identity.

Speaking with the State House correspondents following his briefing with President Muhammadu Buhari over the security situation around the country.

The police have been in a circle of criticism for arresting and parading about 20 Yoruba persons, which included a monarch, over the clash while no single Hausa or Fulani person was arrested, even though the two groups involved in the fight were said to have had casualties.

The pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere; and the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) are among sets and persons that have been criticising the police over the development.

On Thursday, the OPC had in a statement released by its founder, Dr Frederick Fasheun, given the Federal Government, FG, and the police 48 hours to arrest the Hausa/Fulani persons involved in the crisis.

However, Idris defended the steps taken by the police, saying crime had no tribes .
He said the police would not be relunctant to apply the law once criminal cases were confirmed against individuals, irrespective of their tribes or individualism.

He said: “You know we are police officers. Crime has no tribe. If you are a criminal, you are a criminal.

“Crime has no face. We don ’t look at crime in the identity of where you are coming from.

“As far as you are a criminal and the police find you wanting , we apply the law.”

He said investigation had disclosed that the crisis started with a disagreement between two persons selling food along the road.

On the killings in Zaki Biam, Benue State, the IGP said he had deployed police special units to apprehend one of the men declared wanted linked with the case.

Idris said: “We have deployed Mobile Police Unit on 16 th of this month and of recent that incident that happened at Zaki Biam, there are allegations on that Gana, one of the wanted men.

“This man has been on the police wanted list and I have decided to deploy some special unit to go after him and get him by all means.

“Like I said earlier, definitely , we are going to get that man."

Idris also said the latest attack was not carried out by Fulani herdsmen.

“No, I don ’t think it was Fulani herdsmen. It was an activity of a criminal using some of his criminal gangs in the state to harass people."

The police boss also said the issue in Kogi State was not about abduction.

He stated that it was a case of militants who were bent on disturbing the peace of the state.
He swore that the police would take care of the situation.

He said he used the opportunity of his session with President Buhari to update him on police’ s efforts to ensure security across Nigeria.

He said: “The meeting was to share with the President our deployment strategies on the ground; our deployment in some of these flashpoints all over the country , especially Benue , which is the current one.

“We also talked about deployment in Kaduna State , which started some few weeks back and deployment in Ile-Ife , where we have a lot of police officers. Special squads and investigation team are on the ground to conduct investigation on the matter.”

The IGP said the President had given him directive to ensure that all facilities at police’s custody were used to make sure that the security challenges are brought under control as soon as possible.

He said he promised President Buhari that he would ensure that was done.

On another hand, the OPC, some Yoruba elders, and some Igbo men, Aka Ikenga, have criticised Idris’ defence of the controversial arrest, describing it as capable of destabilising the country's unity.

Ayo Adebanjo, who is a Yoruba elder stateman has question the IGP’s defence, saying the arrests were biased, in favour of the Hausa/Fulani people.

He said: “It is unfortunate that the person who calls himself the IGP has no apology for doing injustice . If he agrees that two sections were fighting and two sections suffered casualties, is he saying the indigenes of Ile-Ife killed themselves and destroyed their own properties?

“Yes, a criminal is a criminal but I am asking him, are the criminals only from one side when there are victims from both sides?”

Adebanjo, therefore, asked northerners to speak with the President and the IGP 'to stop playing with fire.'

The Nigerian Senate has declared the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd.) unfit to hold a public office and immediately demanded his resignation as customs boss.

The senate has concluded that Ali should quit his post after he refused to appear before the lawmakers for the second time as instructed by the upper house of legislature on Thursday, March 16, 2017.

Senators maintained that Ali's snubbed the instruction given to him because of the letter the Senate’s clerk received from the office of the attorney-general of federation, Abubakar Malami demanding the lawmakers to forget Ali’s case for now because the matter was in court amounted to interference in its duties.

Senator Dino Melaye, who was leading the debate said the letter was an insult.

Senator Melaye said: "What we heard from the attorney general is an insult.

"How can the attorney general that we screened in the House tell us how to carry out our duty. This is the first time in the history of black Africa that the attorney general is telling the Senate what to do.

"This is not an injunction but a mere court process by a third party that ran to court and the attorney general wants us to stop our work.

"Our rule says that a matter is already in court cannot be discussed here but not that a matter on our floor, an individual quickly ran to court … haba!"

Melaye also said that based on the provisions of the Customs Act and the Pension Reforms Act, Ali was too old to hold a public office because he was above 60 years old and had already worked in public service for over 35 years.

The Senator said: "Hameed Ali is above 60. He is not qualified to hold the position of the Customs comptroller general.

"Abaribe moved that Ali be declared unfit and told to resign."

Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe agreed. He argued that "Lest we forget" Customs made a detestable policy, it was in this process that the Senate asked Ali to explain his policy.

Another Senator claimed that the enemies of Nigeria's progress are working against the President Buhari-led administration by giving him bad advices.

"The enemies of Nigeria are in the presidency. They are trying to distract the president from doing his job. They are giving him the wrong advices and throwing obstacles in his way in order to disrupt his administration.

"For instance when the President went on vacation for about 49 days, there were no Boko Haram attacks but immediately he returned, they have started the attacks again to distract the president."

Following all the opinions and resolutions, the Senate also moved to send the attorney-general a warning letter to cease from meddling with legislative matters.

Another motion was moved to pass the Senate's resolution to the House of Representatives for synchronization.

Premium Times reported that the lawmaker who represents Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu constituency, refer to the division currently in the PDP as his motive for decamping.

The defection which was declared on the floor of the House at the beginning of was however opposed by Nicholas Ossai (PDP-Delta), who raised a point of demand, asking the speaker of the house to declare Anthony’s seat vacant.

Ossai said: “The Court of Appeal has on 17th February declared Modu Sheriff the authentic Chairman of the PDP, therefore there is no faction in the PDP.”

But his argument was ruled out by the speaker. The Speaker asked him to bring a copy of the Court of Appeal judgement.

Hassan Anthony’s defection to the APC has took the number of APC representatives in the house to 226 and while reducing that of PDP to 124.

The Nigerian Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has called on the National Assembly to cut the powers of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The minister made the request when she hosted members of the House of Representatives Tactical Committee on Recession led by Bode Ayorinde in her office on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

Adeosun said that the massive controls given to CBN governors have given rise to some of the financial crisis seen over time.

She added that the excessive powers have made some of the CBN governors in time past to act and make decisions on financial matters without briefing or consulting the minister of finance, who according to the minister is constitutionally obligatory to oversee financial policies, programmes and undertakings of the Federal Government.

Adeosun explained: “I want to correct the impression that the CBN is under us.

“They are not. Unfortunately, a law was passed, making them independent and giving them more powers.

“This has resulted in one person having so much power. In the time of Prof. Charles Soludo as CBN governor, he went to the National Assembly asking for more powers and you can see where that has taken us to.

“So we are back to the legislature to help us correct this problem of too much power. As a result, there are no checks and balances.”

"He wasn't really on social media because he was quite antisocial thus, his profile and pictures were not on the internet. So from all indications, i think it was a case of severe depression that was poorly managed thus, he felt hopeless due to his challenges and decided to end it in a Lagoon."

Following the various sexual allegations levelled against the founder of the Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson by two women, the real identity of the second woman Queen Esther has been revealed after several investigations. The Queen Esther she used was a fraud on social media.

Immediately after the publication of her story by Premium Times, she claimed the report was economical with the real truth, insisting that she had proof against Apostle Suleman.

She said: “I saw all that was written on the internet, although it is a true story, of which it’s the reality of what is going on now in my life.

“If my family were going about bringing out such stories, you should have at least waited before publishing it. Because this is going to attract all kinds of assault to me right now. And going to say that there’s no evidence….it’s just too much.”

She said: “The email sent to you, it wasn’t really me that wrote it, it’s my cousin.

“It wasn’t me that wrote to the Kaduna State government…I’m telling you honestly, this issue has been dragging since 2014, between me and my family and Apostle Suleman and his family since 2014. The reason why I think they were so frustrated to go to this extent, writing these things is because all their pleas to Apostle Suleman to release me from his bondage has fallen on deaf ears.

“It is evident that all that I’m suffering now started from the time he …. and his threat messages are in my phone. He threatened that I will die…I don’t know who he’s talking bout that will die, but he actually sent all those threat messages to my phone.

“What did I do to Apostle Suleman? That I said I don’t want to be in the church again. That being in the church is risky to me and besides whatever relationship that existed between him and I wasn’t really…I didn’t go into it out of… all because I had a problem and he took advantage of that.

“The evidence is in the text message. Johnson Suleman is too smart to call me on phone to say all those things because he knows his voice can be recorded. But since the evidence he wrote it in a text message and sent to me, times without number, I can only quote from the text message, sent directly from his number.”

Two hours after Premium Times demanded for proof of text message between her and the Apostle, she called back to claimed that: “The text messages are on my old phone and we have taken it to a repairer.”

This was a inconsistency of her previous e-mail claim that the messages mysteriously disappeared from her phone.

She said: “We are going to court on the matter and we’ll provide our evidence in court.”

However, on Monday, somebody called in, claiming to be Esther’s cousin, lambasted Premium Times over its report on the occurrence.

The Cousin (name not revealed) said: “You people have made a mess of the case we are even trying to package out.

“Even if the Kaduna State government said they are not getting involved in the matter, why did you have to write it in the whole thing? Why not put the whole story out and exempt the government?

“Obviously, we forwarded a message to Premium Times why do you people have to take it to the public that the state government is getting involved or not getting involved? Why not just write the story and exempt the government? Now you are making it look as if the government has a hand in the story.”

According to Premium Time, the voices of the two callers (Queen Esther’s and her cousin’s) sounded alike but this could not be verified, to know if they were the same individual.

According to a Facebook search using her cousin’s phone number, an account was revealed, showing an e-mail address linked to Queen Esther’s own.

The Facebook account shows a profile name YahwehYesha Ace, was continually referred to as “Queen” or Evangelist Queen by friends.

The Facebook URL indicated that she was previously known as Evangelist Queen before she changed it to YahwehYesha Ace on the platform.

She called herself an evangelist/preacher at Omega Love Ministry.

She claimed to have been sick for a long time, yet between November and December 2016, she campaigned seriously for Donald Trump in the build-up to the US presidential election, also mocked Apostle Suleman over his false prophecy of the election’s result, and cautioned people against MMM.

On December 31, 2016, she wrote this statement on her Facebook page: “Naturally I am so full of sunshine that the whole darkness in the world can’t keep me gloomy or moody for at least five minutes.”

Findings indicated that her other mobile number is associated to an account that had been deactivated by Facebook for creating or posting something that violated Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities.

Truecaller showed that Queen Esther’s number showed her name as Esther Ehel, while that of her supposed cousin’s showed Queen Owerri.

During a confrontation with Queen Esther with the discoveries so far, she was alleged to have threatened to sue the media outfit if those information and her photographs were made public.
She also vowed never to talk to the media outfit again.


However, she later sent an SMS, saying: “I am a very busy lady. I have my image to protect as a servant of God. I can’t be embroiled in Johnson’s mess. He was wicked to me. I left the battle for Yahweh since then.”

Over 1000 guns were recovered from cattle rustlers, armed bandits and vigilante as they submitted their weaponries as part of a disarmament process organized by Zamfara State and 1 Division Nigerian Army.

In a statement released by the director of army public relations, Brigadier-General Sani Kukasheka Usman, said the state government and the Nigerian Army are working towards peace.

The region has recorded series of violence, ranging from cattle rustling to Fulani herdsmen attack and the army has promised to work in direction of achieving peace.

Usman said: “The disarmament of armed bandits, cattle rustlers and vigilante process spearheaded by Zamfara State and 1 Division Nigerian Army has been yielding the desired result as more persons have been surrendering themselves, arms and ammunition. This assertion followed the surrender of more arms at Gusau, Maru and Anka Local Government Areas of the State yesterday.

“Thus the number of the recovered arms within this week is as follows; 3AK-47 Rifles, 2 G3 Rifles, 1 Small Machine Gun, 3 Pump Action Guns, 1 Teargas Launcher, 3 Teargas Canisters, 690 Locally Made Dane Guns, 192 Locally Made Pistols, 8 Locally made Pump Action Guns, 17 Locally Made Revolvers, 60 Locally MadeMulti-barrel Pistols and 13 Locally Made Double-barrel Rifles.

“The State Government and the military have been working assiduously with all the relevant stakeholders to ensure the sustenance of the peace process.”

“Lately I have been thinking and visualising all the jagbajantis going on in the legislative branch of our government and Na vex just dey worry me. See as some people dey prance around like dem be Kingcon, I just dey sorry for us. Shey una dey follow the twin issues of EFCC’s Ibrahim Magu and Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd). Una see the drama?

These Sinators abi na Legislooters do not even understand why they are supposed to be the closest politicians to the people and if Integrity is the yardstick, which of the sinators is capable of standing in that chamber when most of them deal in deceit and sustained inhumanity to the average Nigerian.

The audacious impunity of these supposedly honourable lawmakers is one of the failings of politics in Nigeria.

If the senate rejected Magu because of the two controversial letters or the report from the DSS and they have the right to this; what was the reason for the second rejection? Watching the whole process of dramatized insanity by Sinators; you would actually believe there was a new DSS report. Unending drama.

There was none and the DSS simply referenced the old report that the President directed the Attorney General of the Federation to Investigate, and Ibrahim Magu was given the opportunity of a fair hearing to defend himself and he did. When the President re-submitted Ibrahim Magu’s name, he referenced not only the letter of rejection from the Senate but noted that the Issues raised had been investigated and the AGF had given the all Clear.

So what was the Dramatization all about? Make I no lie, most of these sinators are petty and mindlessly incapable of providing legislative leadership.

Sinators using integrity as the yardstick for rejecting Magu is not only laughable, but it is deceptive and hypocritical. Most of these yeye sinators have failed as governors, businessmen and women, ministers, commissioners and politicians. But because of corruption, they have always managed to keep themselves in the corridors of power as they continue to loot and chop. Weytin else dey rain for them? They have cases of corruption trailing them like flies on shit. In my books, they represent the worse of the Nigerian humanity and typifies the crazy insanity that has become dishonourable members.

Most of these senators who have no sense of Nationalism will do anything to destroy the country and they have not even started but we the people must be prepared to stop them.

The only force capable of defeating and running these yeye senators out of town is the force and energy of the frustrated, hopeless and vexed Nigerians, because me I just tire for most of these riffraffs.

So, for revenge, they pick unnecessary fight with his finest.

Both Hameed Ali and Ibrahim Magu seem to be doing well in the EFCC and Customs that the sinators probably are afraid that the evil that Politicians do will live with them today. Why are the Senators afraid? Politicians do not want to face the consequences of their actions and they do not want Government to Work for the People and I can't say that I am surprised.

#OurMumuDonDo; All whistle blowers, wipp out your whistles, its time to make some noise. If the people will not rise up and fight Injustice; they will never be served properly by politicians. My fear is not death; My fear is not the bullet that will silence me; It is the inability of the suffering docile Nigerian to wake up from their mental slavery, It is the inability of the Nigerian people to fight for their rights; It is the Insanity of the evil demonic politicians who offer nothing to the average Nigerian but use them as Political pawns that I am afraid of.

The Russian Government through the Ministry of Justice has made a move to tag Jehovah's Witnesses, an “extremist organization” after several years of the government’s doubt concerning the group.

A lawsuit was filed with the Supreme Court of Russia against the nation’s headquarters of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, it was not dated and has not yet been slated for legal action, according to the USA Today report.

In reaction to the filing, the office of the press for the Russian headquarters of the religion released a statement on Thursday, March 17, saying it would represent dire consequences for religious freedom in “the country if approved.

It says: Extremism is deeply alien to the Bible-based beliefs and morality of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Persecution of the faithful for peaceful anti-extremism legislation is built on frank fraud, incompetent individual 'experts' and, as a result, a miscarriage of justice.”

The press office said that the decision, if passed by the court, would directly affect more than 175,000 members in more than 2,000 congregations in Russia.

But, this is not first time Jehovah’s Witnesses have been facing legal battles. In 2009, a court ruled against the group’s publications in Russian-language. The popular Watchtower was regarded as an extremist publication and barred it.

In 2015, a Russian court ruled that the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ website was also an extremist publication.

Reacting to the claims that Fanta and Sprite can be poisonous if taken with Vitamins C, the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited has come out to rubbish the claim that, such is misleading to the public.

On Wednesday, March 15, in a statement released by NBC management, the company said information on the safety of benzoic and ascorbic acids as ingredients in soft drinks, citing the judgement of the Lagos High Court, is misleading.

“In the judgement delivered on February 15, 2017 in a suit involving Fijabi Adebo Holdings Limited & Dr. Emmanuel Fijabi Adebo vs. Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC) & National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the Lagos High Court dismissed all claims against NBC and held that the company had not breached its duty of care to consumers and that there was no proven case of negligence against it.

“In the same judgement, the court directed NAFDAC to mandate NBC to include a warning on its bottles of Fanta and Sprite that its contents cannot be taken with Vitamin C as same become poisonous if taken with Vitamin C. This order was premised on the fact that the products contain the preservative, benzoic acid. NBC has since appealed this order.”

NBC claimed that the standards for testing benzoic acid in soft drinks varies from one country to another and factors like climate could also have influence on the ingredient used in production.

It added that, the United Kingdom (UK), being in a temperate region, requires lower preservative levels compared a tropical country like Nigeria, and claimed that this does not make NBC’s products harmful when taken with Vitamin C.

NBC said: “In the subject case which dates back to 2007, the UK authorities confiscated a consignment of our products shipped to that country by the plaintiff because their benzoic acid levels were not within the UK national level, although well within the levels approved by both the national regulators for Nigeria and the international levels set by CODEX, the joint inter-governmental body responsible for harmonising food standards globally.

“The UK standards limit benzoic acid in soft drinks to a maximum of 150 mg/kg. Both Fanta and Sprite have benzoic levels of 200 mg/kg which is lower than the Nigerian regulatory limit of 250 mg/kg when combined with ascorbic acid and 300 mg/kg without ascorbic acid and also lower than the 600 mg/kg international limit set by CODEX.”

It stated that both benzoic acid and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) are ingredients approved by international food safety regulators and are globally used in many food and beverage products.

“These two ingredients are also used in combination in some of these products within levels which may differ from one country to another as approved by the respective national food and drug regulators and in line with the range prescribed by CODEX.

“The permissible ingredient levels set by countries for their food and beverage products are influenced by a number of factors such as climate, an example being the UK, a temperate region, requiring lower preservative levels unlike tropical countries.

“Given the fact that the benzoic and ascorbic acid levels in Fanta as well as the benzoic acid level in Sprite produced and sold by NBC in Nigeria are in compliance with the levels approved by all relevant national regulators and the international level set by CODEX.

“There is no truth in the report that these products would become poisonous if consumed alongside Vitamin C.

“The wrong perception emanating from the media reports that our Fanta and Sprite beverages which are fully compliant with all national and international food quality and safety standards are unsafe, simply because their levels of Benzoic acid were not within the UK standards, is not only unfounded but also undermines the entire food and beverage industry in Nigeria which is regulated by the same ingredient levels approved by NAFDAC and other regulatory bodies for the country.”

NBC promised and assured its consumers and members of the public of its “unwavering commitment to product quality, safety and customer satisfaction.”

March 14, 2017, became a Historical date for Lagosians as fresh tomatoes land in Lagos, transported by rail after 58 years.

A Nigerian businessman, Emmanuel Itoya Ijwere, revealed this at the First Bank's maiden Agric Expo 2017, held at Eko Hotel and Suits, Lagos, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

He said: "The train left Kano at about 10am yesterday. As at 11am today, it has arrived Osun and by 10pm this evening, it will be in Lagos. This is happening for the first time in 58 years." Ijewere said.

"I want to thank those who made it possible including the minister of Agriculture. After this, it will now be weekly affairs. We will move a lot of these things conveniently.”

He added that Nigeria lost about 2.8 million tonnes of tomatoes in 2016.

"At N200,000 per tonne, the country lost tomatoes worth N5.6 billion due to poor storage facility,” he added.

According to Australian officials, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, a lady whose headphones caught fire on an airplane had suffered burns to her face and hands, and they also cautioned on the use of battery-operated devices on-board.

The traveller was listening to music on her own battery-operated headphones and later dozed off, about 2 hours into the trip from Beijing to Melbourne, on February 19, 2017, then suddenly there was a loud bang.

“As I went to turn around I felt burning on my face,” she told the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) which investigated the incident.

“I just grabbed my face which caused the headphones to go around my neck. I continued to feel burning so I grabbed them off and threw them on the floor.

“They were sparking and had small amounts of fire.”

Flight attendants were said to have rushed to help and poured a bucket of water on the headphones, but the battery and its cover had both melted and stuck to the floor.

Pictures show the woman, whose name was not mentioned, with a blackened face and neck and blisters on her hands.

Other passengers had to tolerate the smell of melted plastic, burnt electronics and scorched hair for the rest of the flight.

“People were coughing and choking the entire way home,” the woman added.
The transport safety bureau, which did not identify the airline or brand of headphones involved ni the incident, said the lithium-ion batteries in the device likely caught fire.

“As the range of products using batteries grows, the potential for in-flight issues increases,” it said, adding that such devices needed to be stored safely if they were not being used.

Spare batteries should be kept in carry-on luggage, and not checked in, the bureau added.

The ATSB’s Stuart Godley alleged that it was the first report of headphones catching fire in Australia, however, there have been a number of other phone and device battery occasions.

Recall that many airlines in 2016, barred all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones over fire risk concerns, following reports of explosions caused by lithium-ion batteries.

The manufacturer, South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, a great company in terms of innovation and quality, was mandated to recall all its Note 7s, costing it loss of billions of dollars.

Lithium-ion batteries are used for handheld electronics because of their considerable amount of energy it pack for their weight.

After the pressure generated as a result of misrepresentation of the Nigeria Customs Service proposed motor duty payment, the National Assembly and the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) had a meeting with an understanding to resolve the gridlock and have both settled to suspend planned motor duty payment.

This was disclosed through a statement signed by the Acting Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, on Wednesday.

The statement claimed that both leadership of the National Assembly and the CGC, Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd) had agreed that the proposed motor duty payment, nonetheless in line with the provision of Customs and Excise Management Act (CEMA) Cap C.45, LFN 2004 should be put suspended while the Senate Committee on Customs and Excise cross point with the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) for more deliberations.

While payment of duty on vehicles or any dutiable imported item remains a civic charge of every loyal Nigerian, NCS administration has passed directives that the exercise should be put on hold while stating willingness to employ the Senate Committee on further dialogs to bring them on board to know the importance of the exercise in relation with the economy and national security.

The Comptroller-General, Hameed Ali had approved one month grace-period for all Nigerian vehicle owners to pay duties if they have not or face total confiscation of the vehicles. This also applies to those who bought new vehicles from car dealers.

NCS gave a grace of one month, from March 13, 2017 to April 12, 2017, for vehicle owners to pay the applicable duty on their cars.

The PRO also said that some vehicle brought into the country through the land borders, apparently failed to pay duty.

Based on Apostle Suleman’s instruction I left Canada for Nigeria to meet Apostle Suleman. It is important to note that despite the amorous relationship, I saw Apostle Suleman like a father figure who takes care of me and to whom I was extremely obedient to.

I arrived Nigeria on the 25th of August, 2015 and clandestine arrangement was made for the two (2) of us to meet and consequently, I met Apostle Suleman at Definite Destiny Hotel, beside Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State. It was at the hotel that I was given a concoction to drink by Apostle Suleman who told me that the concoction was for my spiritual fortification. But in less than ten (10) minutes after drinking the concoction, I started vomiting blood and passing out blood. Apostle Suleman then gave me pills to stop the blood though the blood did not stop immediately but the pain subsided and the pregnancy was gone.

I was devastated by the development and Apostle Suleman gave me cash gifts in three (3) different currencies, to wit; Euro, Dollars and Naira to console and compensate me for the loss of the pregnancy. I could not come to terms with the facts that the man that claimed to love me and promised to marry me, could procure abortion for me without my consent which could have lead to my death.

Unfortunately Apostle Suleman did not stop at procuring abortion for me without my consent but also in a desperate bid to keep the amorous relationship between him and I a secret not known to his teeming followers, Apostle Suleman invented various devices to bully and threaten my life.

It is against this backdrop that I urge you to use your good offices to call for a thorough and dispassionate investigation into the above allegations. I plead with you, in the course of your investigation, to confirm the exchange of all our text messages from the networks, forensic analysis of all the nude pictures we both sent to ourselves (and whether they are, indeed, photo-shopped or authentic), our international passports to confirm the dates and times of our travels, investigation concerning the hotels we slept together both in and out of Nigeria and bank accounts to confirms the transfers of funds.

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has revoked the temporary licence granted to 54 Radio and Television stations for failure to pay up their licensing fees.

This disclosure was made by the Director General of NBC, Is’haq Modibbo Kawu, at a press briefing in Abuja yesterday, March 13, 2017.

According to Kawu, most TV and Radio station operators have refused to pay up their licensing fees over the years because they always run to the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock to get help from their connections to evade payment.

He claimed that such era is over as the commission will henceforth not rebuff any political interferance in carrying out its duties.

He also revealed that the TV and radio stations that have been issued licenses but have failed to commence activites within the stipulated two years of kickoff given to them, will also have their licenses revoked.

Kawu said: “Over the past two weeks, I gave directive that the licences of 54 companies issued licences but had refused to pay their fees within the mandatory 60-day window be revoked. And those licenses are revoked.

"There is another list of over 120 licences that were paid within the mandatory period but were unable to come on air, within the mandatory two years; they are also being processed for revocation. And they will be revoked.

"Frequencies cannot be held indefinitely by individuals. We are delighted that Nigerians are investing in setting up radio and television stations; they create jobs; open up accesses for content producers to showcase talents and are contributing to national development.

"But no one has a right to hold on to allocated frequencies indefinitely, when the resource itself is finite and there are other people waiting and ready to make use of those frequencies.”

Kawu also gave a final warning to the default TV and radio stations on N5 billion debt, to pay up their fees before April 1 or get their stations shut down.

On Monday, March 13, 2017, a National Assembly Clerk, Mohammed Shuaibu, slumped and died at the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

Late Shuaibu who is from Zaria, Kaduna State allegedly slumped around 12.noon while walking on a staircase and was immediately rushed to the clinic within National Assembly premisis where he was later pronounced dead by the doctors.

His remains have been moved to Zaria, his hometown for burial.

Before his demise, He was the clerk of the House Committee on Agricultural Production and Services.

The Chairman of the committee on Agricultural Production and Services, Mohammed Tahir Monguno representing APC (from Borno), said the clerk returned to Abuja from Zaria on Sunday, in a bid to attend the meeting of the committee today but died few minutes to the meeting.

Monguno said Shuaibu was a hard working fellow and was posted to the committee about a year ago.

The newspaper quoted Temer, saying; "I felt something strange there. I wasn’t able to sleep right from the first night.

"The energy wasn’t good."

The report also stated that his wife, Marcela, also felt the same way, but only their son, Michelzinho, who went running from one end to the other, loves the place.

Marcela had allegedly brought in a priest to pray and drive out any form of evil spirits, but all efforts aborted.

The Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN) has decided to take the power struggle brouhaha with the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) to another level by filing a N2 billion suit against the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Director General of the Department of State Service (DG of DSS) over the unlawful detention of Dickson Akoh, The National Commandant and 49 others last week.


Recall that the police and some DSS officials, on February 28, raided the headquarters of the security agent, arrested some PCN Boss and its officials and also paraded them before journalists.

Speaking at the press briefing, the NPF’ spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, claimed that some terrorists have infiltrated the group.

In a suit filed by PCN’s counsel, Kanu Agabi (SAN) at the Federal High Court, Abuja, PCN described the raid of their organization's new Headquarters by a combined team of Police and the DSS last week as unlawful.

So, on this basis, It is demanding for a sum of N2 billion as compensation for the embarrassment brought on the organisation and its Incorporated Trustees.

PCN is requesting the court to also declare as unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional the arrest of it Commandant, Akoh and other Corps members, as well as the sealing up of its Headquarters in Abuja and the other offices in the 36 States of the Federation.

Also asking the court to declare that the sealing up of the Headquarters office in Abuja is unlawful, illegal, malicious and unconstitutional, having committed no offence to warrant the unlawful invasion and seizure of properties.

PCN claims that they are entitled to Fundamental Rights to acquire and own properties, freedom of movement, lawful assembly, personal liberty and dignity of their human persons as guaranteed under sections 34, 35, 40, 41, and 43 of the 1999 constitution.

They also asked the court that the police and DSS should be issued a directive to unseal the Headquarters office in Abuja and its offices countrywide and release their seized properties during the raid.

It was reported that the case will come up for hearing today.

Reports coming in that, Police has stormed Jackson Kibor's home, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 and arrested him for abuse of firearm.

Kibor was seen shooting three times at Ezekiel last Wednesday in a dispute over their family’s farm close to Eldoret. He claimed he acted in self-defence but his son refuted the claim, rather he wanted to kill.

Eldoret East OCPD, Samwel Mutunga led the process of arrest of the veteran politician who is also a farmer.

Mutunga said Kibor, has been taken to Eldoret police station, would be charged with misuse of a firearm.

He listened to all speakers with rapt attention and concentrated interest. One could see him practically and personally experiencing the pains of the abandoned and raped people of the Niger Delta. Even when there was a mini riot in the hall he remained calmed and probably prayerful as an ordained man of God.
If the mild drama of mini riot that played out in the hall had happened in a situation where even a local government chairman was in charge, the chairman would have ordered the security men to shoot at sight. If the person in charge was a state governor or a President, he would have ordered a massive arrest and inglorious shot at perception and at sight, but the learned and erudite scholar and legal luminary of international acclaim did not do any of that. Rather when he responded he said he equally shared the grievance of the aggrieved Niger Delta people.
This is un-Nigerian. For a leader to share in the pains of the people and not to deal with them for daring to engage in mini riot in his presence shows that the goddess of pride, the delusion grandeur and megalomania tendency usually associated with the average Nigerian leader at virtually all levels are not in the Acting President. For him to order all the oil companies to move their headquarters to the Niger Delta is a wonderful act of justice and healing of the age long injury inflicted on the Niger Delta people.
That he visited the Niger Delta states differently and interacted directly with the people and even visited the creeks to personally access the horrible situation is worth more than commendation.
No Nigerian leader at his level has acted like this. This is the reason I doubt if Acting President Yemi Osibanjo, SAN, is a Nigerian.

Probably he is a Moses in the making to the Niger Delta people.
