Despite her attempts to hide the phone from the cameras using a paper, anyone with an eye was able to pick out that its an iPhone. Sources indicate that this is not the first time she has been caught using the iPhone. Apparently, the iPhone X is her personal phone and she prefers using it over the phone she’s been paid to use and endorse.

Samsung did not take this betrayal lightly as the company has reportedly sued Sobchak for an equivalent of $1.6 million. There are no details regarding the lawsuit but such a move sets precedence and serves as a warning to celebrity influencers on the kind of products they agree to push.

This provides MTN with an exclusive “first” in Nigeria by being the first mobile operator to collaborate with Disney on a mobile service of this type; this will offer an exclusive digital experience to subscribers that appeal to the target market and it is exclusive to only MTN customers (prepaid and post-paid customers on the MTN Network).

Google has announced that it will be shutting down Google+, its social network that was unveiled about 7 years ago in a bid to stand as a competitor to the likes of Facebook and Twitter.

The reason behind the tech giant's decision to finally put the nail to the coffin on the largely unpopular social network is actually due to privacy issues.

The company reviewed its third party developer access to Google accounts and Android device data and discovered a bug in the Google + People APIs. This bug allowed apps that had access to Profile fields that were shared with the user but not marked as public.

Google says the were able to discover and immediately patch this bug in March of this year. They were not able to confirm which users were impacted by this but from detailed analysis, they found out that upto 500,000 Google+ accounts were potentially affected.

The company also admitted the low engagement statistics of Google+. According to Google, 90% of Google+ user sessions were less than 5 seconds, which is strikingly low compared to other social networks.

“WHILE OUR ENGINEERING TEAMS HAVE PUT A LOT OF EFFORT AND DEDICATION INTO BUILDING GOOGLE+ OVER THE YEARS, IT HAS NOT ACHIEVED BROAD CONSUMER OR DEVELOPER ADOPTION AND HAS SEEN LIMITED USER INTERACTION WITH APPS,” GOOGLE SAID IN A STATEMENT.

It’s kind of anticlimatic that Google+ was killed off impetuously from a privacy scare. It was launched back in 2011 with a lot of hype and judging from the fact it was backed by a huge company which had other assets like YouTube, it seemed like it would have had a chance to grow.

The hardware looks identical to the first Surface Laptop, so you don't get even one USB-C port here either. The screen is still 13.5", but now has 1500:1 contrast ratio, and Microsoft says it has 14.5 hours of battery life. Typing on the Surface Laptop 2 should be quieter than on its predecessor.

The new model will be available on October 16, starting at $999. Pre-orders started yesterday.

Surface Studio 2
The Surface Studio 2 appears very much like its predecessor (which seems to be the theme of the event), but is the fastest Surface ever. It packs a 38% brighter screen (over 500 nits brighter than before) and 22% has more contrast. The display supports the DCI-P3 color space.

The Studio 2 comes with Nvidia's next-gen Pascal graphics (not an RTX GPU) and a 2TB SSD. No more hybrid disk drive.

The starting price will be a hefty $3,499. Pre-orders started yesterday as well.

Surface Headphones
Microsoft has started a new hardware lineup with the introduction of the Surface Headphones. They are Bluetooth cans with adjustable noise cancellation (13 levels) and Cortana built-in.

They have 40mm drivers, 4 beam forming mics, and 4 active noise cancelling mics.

They will cost $350 when they go on sale later this year.

Twitter announced yesterday that it start purging millions of accounts today. The micro-blogging platform specified that it would be removing locked accounts from follower counts across profiles globally, so we were to expect a drop in follower counts today. The accounts that Twitter will be purging today are locked accounts that the company ‘detected sudden changes in account behaviour’ and if the owners didn’t validate their accounts, they were henceforth purged.

Twitter said that a lot of people would see a change of about 4 followers or fewer but those people with larger follower accounts would experience a more significant drop.

Well, it is currently happening and people have started noticing the drop in follower accounts.

Starting with the more popular accounts on Twitter, Katy Perry, the most followed person on Twitter has lost over 2 million, Twitter itself has lost a cool 7.5 million, Obama over 2 million and interesting enough, Donald Trump has only lost 100,000 followers.
