The complexity of Nigerian politics is rather superficial.
It's basically the North against the South and it's not quite different this time around only someone is playing a precise game of divide and rule here.
The only candidate worthy of opposing Tinubu in the game is Atiku and APC cannot lose power yet (PDP did 16 years and they, "APC" still have a record to overtake).
BAT is basically playing his game against the "Big Fish", Atiku and he has practically won.
People in some parts of the North currently resent the current APC administration, so they are more inclined to fall towards PDP.
A solution BAT gave to this problem was to use a proxy that could reduce the number of votes the opposition got even if they got minimum or no votes at all, hence it would make some sense if " Baba" invested in NNPP and a man like Kwankwanso.
More so, the same approach would work in the east where hatred for APC is even worse.
It's against APC's policy to disintegrate Nigeria, so why not use another man to promise them referendum?? A party like LP and a man like Peter Obi comes to mind.
In the end it wouldn't be foolish to have invested in both minor oppositions to reduce the chances of major oppositions getting more votes where the major opposition know they wouldn't get votes.
If that's not divide and rule, what is??
