Business › Re: Nigeria To Service $1b Eurobond With N361b by tempest01(m): 10:35am On Feb 13, 2017 |
gists: Children of hate don come again. I didn't read anywhere in the article where the detractors offered any shred of alternative source of revenue. If the same eurobond had failded (thank God it was a HUGE success) these same wailing zombies would still have come to blame Adeosun and caller her unprintable names.
The reality is you lots were happy with the vandalisation of pipeline even though we know the gov need funds to execute its plan. Now that they have successuflly (using their term) sold the future of your unborn children, you are here again complaining. The only possible alternative is for government to dip its dirty hands into the pension fund. I am sure these same "ekpas" would still cry fowl.
For me, having infrastructure is unnegotiable, now that revenue are low, we need the cheapest "loan" we can get and this eurobond is a great deal. Is their a price to pay? Of course yes. But that price cannot and should not be lack of needed infrastructure of the nation.
Having said that, Adeosun and her team should realise that they have not done anything we have not seen before. Getting money from foreign investors is not new to Nigeria. So while some of us are relatively happy with this news, we are not excited "yet" until we see actual utilization of the funds for the purpose which its meant. If that happens then she and her team would have written their name among the true hero/heroines of this country. There is no issue with getting the loan....the big issue is using the loan to service frivolous things as seen in the budget...cost of governance should be reduced. |

rusher14: This is considered advanced because they've moved away from the drawing board, reconnaissance, from geodetic surveying and they are now into full fledged seismic surveying.
The analysis of the survey would determine if Wells are to be sited, how many and where exactly.
There can be no drilling ( actually there can be wildcats) without this stage of investigation.
Also, a well might already be in the vicinity and they may be carrying out VSPs or 4D surveys. Either way this is well advanced exploration.
If you are still shooting waves and gathering data with geophones, then it is not an "advanced stage". I do really hope they find oil, but it's not pictures like these that find the oil. |

rusher14: Those are vibroseis machines.
They generate sweeps of seismic energy used in imaging of the subsurface.
Sometimes it's best you search for knowledge rather than broadcast your ignorance.
Does acquiring seismic data for geographical mapping and interpretation equate to advanced exploration stage in finding Commercial reservoir for exploitation? Common you are more intelligent than this. |

rusher14: I would suggest you confine your opinion to topics you know about. And you that knows, what can you say to prove him wrong? Advanced stage means making a find and carrying out appraisal. All I see here is banishing equipment they don't even know how to use. |

Good job by the EFCC...Same as I am not against prosecuting Deziani and a forfeiture of assets after necessary investigation, the EFCC and the FG would have had more credibility if they had also taken the same steps on Buratais Dubai properties.
But the FG had to release a statement telling us how good of a salary saver he was. They also released a statement to clear the SGF. If you are fighting corruption, fight it in totality ....not using it as a tool to push corrupt people to join your party. |

Now, they have come with pictures taken from Zenith Bank''s Vault as misrepresent as dollars recovered from former GMD NNPC just to paint jonathan bad. What is wrong with you? Your sarcasm attempts these days are just clueless. Every sane person would applaud this burst and call for the immediate prosecution of the man. Also, every other person that held position of trusts should be investigated and made to return their loot...no matter their current party affiliations. Stronger laws should be made to ensure accountability and due process. |

When in a tensed up situation like this with uniform men, the first thing you should do is to memorize their names and service numbers on their uniform, as it might be the only thing to help you seek justice. |

Not only fighting corruption by arresting people...there should be accountability. It pains me that the NASS that are supposed to champion the accountability cause have refused to open their books. |

He looks so frail. The best he can do for himself, his wife and his family is to resign and take care of his health.
If it happens that he holds on to power and dies on seat, he looses everything. He still wields power as a former president. The only people trying to force him to stay on are the cabal that are filling their pockets and ruling in proxy. |

At least it is good that his mental state is okay...
Wishing him a quick recovery.
He should think of resigning to take more care of his health and get the needed rest at this old age. Seeing pictures of presidents before and after four years, we see the toll it takes on them.
The only people trying so hard to make him stay in power are those that swell their pockets now he is there...Theres no power in the grave. Health is wealth. |

It is clearly stated that when he transmits a letter that he is back from vacation, the vice ceases to act.
There is no place that mandates the length of vacation or time away to be included in the letter and that was the first mistake pmbs handlers did. And they tried to resolve that in the second letter.
Therefore Osinbanjo remains acting till Buhari is back and sends a letter to the Senate on his return. The only thing the Senate can do is raise 1/3 to petition for his impeachment due to his health. But that won't work, as his true state of health will not be disclosed by those close to him to enable such.
So now it is a wait out that is going to happen. In like two months, then questions should start being asked. And then a demand to know his state of health. |

Politics › Re: See What Lai Said When Yaradua Was Away For Treatment In 2009 by tempest01(op): 12:30am On Feb 07, 2017 |
progress69: The is a clear difference.. There was so much hullabaloo about Yaradua because he wasn't able to transfer power to his vice and his handlers wont let the FEC take actions. Ya'radua casw created a power vacuum by not transferring power to Jonathan. Nigeria did not have a president for months
In this case, due process was followed, we have an acting president. No power vacuum. Osinbajo have been presiding over FEC meetings and doing his responsibilities as the "President".
Cut the old man some slack! You people display ignorance when you say power was transferred and no power vacuum. After what happened with Yaradua and GEJ, the senate amended the constitution to prevent a reoccurrance. If a president is going on vacation, he has to write to the senate and house. Immediately he does that, power transcends to the vice till another letter is received on the return of the president. If he doesn't write, and he is out of the country for 14 days, the senate has the power to declare the vice acting. Now if we analyse carefully, if PMB was really planning to come back before 14 days, there was no need to take a vacation. This was a medical trip, not a ''vacation''. I am not saying he can't go for medical trips, but if they are open - as Lai suggested way back, it could have saved them all the noise. |
