3. I'd have loved that he cite sections of procedures/rules that mandates contracts above $20m MUST be passed through the NNPC board before it is implemented. From the traditions of NNPC, the minister is usually the final appending authority... If, however, that is the case, then this is a serious indictment on both the GMD and the Government.

4. As for appointment, as unfortunate as it may sound, once the Petroleum Minister approves it, it becomes valid with or without the input of minister of State.

Let me for the record state that the office of Minister of State is more or less minister without portfolio because you can easily be sidelined... I'd have preferred Kachukwu to prefer remaining as GMD than the "promotion" to Minister of State when in reality he is at the mercies of the Substantive minister (in his case the president) and nobody will really fear much.

There is nothing anyone can do about this, not even President Buhari. NNPC is a cash cow and Baru is the GMD and Buhari is the Minister.

I have not read the laws that govern NNPC, but the board of NNPC should at least have an oversight function, and as such, let decisions should not be taken without consulting them.

TSTV is an amalgamation of channels, nothing special, a lot of channels on their bouquet are channels being picked by 1.8 meter dish users, e.g the beIN sports, MBC series etc.

Real DTH aggregators own their channel series, e.g multichoice( the owners of DSTV) own the supersport channels, buh TSTV own nothing, they own no channel of their own, only gathering free channels and broadcasting to Nigerians .

The Internet feature they are broadcasting to Nigerians cannot be available in all nigerian states(I pray to be wrong on this) startimes have this feature on the combo box which a lot of their users are not even aware of, some are using it presently in Nigeria and I think that feature can only be used in not more than 5 states in Nigeria.


TSTV if not careful would go the way of HITv, the company have launched into the country running at a loss, that's why the branding and hyping to convince Nigerians to buy, if the sales and turnover anticipated is not achieved, either more money is pumped in to sustain the business or the business would be on a downward spiral.

KweseTV that has been there building structures to ensure distribution channels before launching is still way better and would outlive TSTV in the long run.Kwese even went ahead with their commitment to give out free decoders to thousands of dealers.

NB: the kwese brand is owned by strive masiywa, the brain behind econet wireless and TSTV is even broadcasting one of their channels kwese free sport(KFS) on their bouquet asking you to pay for the channel that kwese is broadcasting for free

You sef... You know how much e go take to set up their own station and pay for rights? I think for premiership, dstv had the sole right to sit in this part of in not mistaken. This is a good venture at least for a start. With time, they will grow. They know what they are offering, that is why the price is low. At the very least, for 3k (more than what we spend for data monthly) we get to watch sports and get data too. The data alone is worth the price.

No key employment has gone to the communities, the last known employment drive carried out by the coy in Nigeria (by merit) was 2012. But people are employed and sent down here yearly...which community would watch this happen quietly?

He is Saying the bitter truth. You need to do mad advertisement to be able to break into the market. The likes of Jiji etc have invested a whole lot, to be where they are today.
Many people have tried out their hands on classified ads... EVEN SEUN had an ads site.
My advise too would be that you do not waste resources on this if you don't have the financial backing to run ads and make your site an household name.
That means, you shouldn't even be thinking of returns till the next two years.

Nigeria is heading to a very bad state..... The rate of crime is increasing everywhere. The earlier we stop and rethink and restructure this country, the better for all. When oil prices drop and when reserves finally drops on the long run...We are in for a long thing.
