I want to learn from you. Its been almost 24hrs wey I dey ask

You keep asking for a list of non-indigene senators like this is a tribal raffle draw. You’re desperate for “proof” just so you can justify exclusion in Lagos. But sorry to disappoint you, equality isn't something you trade, it's something you uphold.

I don’t need to prove my state is perfect before I call out tribal nonsense. That’s your own insecurity talking. You don’t want inclusion, you want justification to keep gatekeeping.

So keep your “show us your state” obsession. I don’t owe you a state audit before defending citizenship rights. This isn’t a trade-by-barter federation. Lagos belongs to all Nigerians, not just the ones that speak your language.

Surprisingly only you keep using “tribàl” and name dropping ethnicitieś. This your supposed opps only talks about “states”. He even used Yayi of Ogun state as one of his examples of non-Lagos indigené proving he ain’t seeing things in Tribàl-ethnicitý color.

Look within, bro.
LMAO. You think hiding behind “states” makes it less tribal? Yayi is from Ogun, same region, same language, same cultural bloc. That’s not inclusion, it’s in-house selection.

Let’s not play dumb. We all know that when the name changes from Ade to Ifeanyi, the energy shifts.
If it was Ifeanyi from Enugu or Musa from Kano trying to contest in Lagos, you wouldn’t be quoting federal character, you’d be crying “go back to your state.”

Call it “state” all you want ,the tribal bias is loud.
So no, I’m not the one seeing things in tribal colours. You’re just trying to rebrand tribalism as “structure.”

So the entire summary of this is that you cannot show us the example of what you are preaching for Lagos in your state?

Which shows your hypocrisy. Lagos should give you what you cannot give others

Every Nigeria has equal rights in your state as well, why not do us the favor and show us the example of what you want Lagos to do.

It should be simple

No too talk, Show us the list of people who have governed your state either as governors, Senators or HoR that are from outside your state

Charity begins at home not from Lagos
I see it now that you're not arguing in good faith, you're just looking for a false equivalence to excuse tribal bigotry.

You keep shouting “your state, your state,” as if Nigeria runs on tribal reciprocity. Let me explain this slowly for you: rights are not conditional. I don’t have to prove how Enugu or Sokoto treats non-indigenes before an ibibio man can contest freely in Lagos. That's not how citizenship works.

This is not a barter system “you allow me in your state, I allow you in mine.” This is a constitutional democracy. If you don’t understand the difference, then maybe it’s not politics you need, it’s civic education.

Now let me address your "point": you're obsessed with governors and senators, as if inclusion is only about the top 3 seats in a state. The real question is: has my state banned, bullied, or burned down ballot boxes because someone from another tribe ran for office? Has any traditional ruler in my state threatened anyone for not voting a “son of the soil”? Have we shouted “go back to your village” when a Yoruba or Hausa man opens a shop or gets appointed?

If you have zero examples of that, then don’t compare. Because Lagos, the so-called “centre of excellence” has had ALL of that. And you’re here defending it.

You're not asking for balance. You're asking for the right to oppress freely until someone else becomes your oppressor back.

And let me hit you with this last truth: Lagos isn’t "doing us a favor" by respecting the constitution. Lagos doesn’t “give rights”, the constitution guarantees them. If your idea of fairness is “others are tribal, so let Lagos be tribal too,” then you’re not fighting for justice, you’re fighting for equal opportunity to discriminate.

So here's your answer: I don’t need to show you a tribal scoreboard. I stand on principle, not paranoia. And if that's too hard for you to digest, maybe it’s time you stop talking about leadership because tribalists like you can’t lead a modern Nigeria. You’ll only drag it backward.

Every host has a right to cherry pick the foreigners acceptable to them just the same way you have a right to pick the exact visitor who enters your house. why not practice the inclusion and throw your house door open to everyone. You wont but when it comes to other peoples states thats when you start shouting they should do what you have been preaching against

I challenge you now tell us your state and the number of non indigenes who have been governors, Senators or HoR representig your state since 1999, You will probably chicken out because its not Lagos

Lagos belongs to all Nigerians just like Enugu, Rivers Gombe, Adamawa Katsina Oyo belong to all Nigerians yet yu dont expen this much energy when asking for other places to make non indigenes political leaders in their state

Lagosians say they want to pick the non indigenes they want you dey insist they must pick everyone shey na by force?

Go and show us your liberalism in your home state and with examples too let us learn from you
You're still confusing your house with a state in a sovereign nation. Let me educate you gently: a house is private property. A state is public territory governed by a constitution, not a tribal inheritance. So no, your host analogy is dead on arrival. Try again.

Let me spell it out: Lagos is not your family parlour. It is a federating unit under a democratic constitution. That means every Nigerian has equal rights there, including the right to vote, be voted for, and participate in governance. If you're struggling to grasp that, it’s because your politics is rooted in fear, not principle.

Now to your "challenge", cute move, but very predictable. You're trying to play the tired “what about your state?” card. But you forget: no state in Nigeria actively campaigns to stop fellow Nigerians from voting or running for office like Lagos politicians do. No Oba of Enugu ever threatened “drown the Hausa” if they don’t vote a certain way. No Gombe APC chieftain ever said “we don’t want Yoruba councillors.”

The reason Lagos is discussed more is because it behaves worse. Simple.

Also, if someone from Enugu runs in my state and wins based on merit and the people’s choice, I have zero problem with it, because I don’t suffer from tribal insecurity. The question is: can you do the same without screaming about ancestral lineage like you're in a Nollywood movie?

And about “Lagosians picking the non-indigenes they want”, listen to how you're sounding. You’re not even pretending anymore. You’re literally saying Nigerians in Lagos should be screened like foreigners in an embassy. That’s not democracy. That’s ethnic apartheid.

And here’s the worst part: You’re in a foreign country benefitting from the very inclusion you reject at home. You didn’t fight Americans for letting Nigerians rise, you embraced it. But back home, you’re advocating a gated tribal system. That’s the definition of cowardice. You want equity when you're the minority, and oppression when you're the majority. We see you.

So save the lectures. No matter how many times you say “go to your village,” it won’t make your double standard less obvious. You’re not defending Lagos, you’re defending a warped, insecure ideology that collapses the moment it's flipped back on you.

And don’t worry, this “liberalism” you fear so much? It’s coming. Lagos is evolving. Nigeria is evolving. And no matter how many tribal gatekeepers try to hold the door, the future doesn’t ask for your permission.

So you are ignorant enough not to know that the Obas crown is a birthright and its passed down through birth? What type of ignorance f the culture do you display with such confidence all over the place

Lagos can show you many non indigenes who are political office holders, E.g Senator Yayi is from Ogun no one had a problem with him Politican appointees, like Aregbesola, Igbokwe, are non indigenes, no one has a problem with them

I want in America whatever Americans want, I am respectful of my host by wanting whatever they want and not disrespecting them, Is that too much for you to grant your hosts wherever you choose to stay?

Insecurity trbalism, paranoia, whatever you call it, Go and start it from your own homeland and shw Lagos how to do it

Everyone becomes liberal when its someone elses property, but when its theirs they choose conservatism. Go to your village and invite Fulanis to come rule there to show us by example not by choo choo choo
You see your problem? You confuse culture with governance, and monarchy with democracy. Yes, the Oba’s crown is by birth , nobody's dragging that. But Lagos State is not the Oba’s personal kingdom. It's part of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, not a royal estate for tribal sentiment.

You listed a few token appointees like Igbokwe as your defense, that’s cute. Igbokwe? The one they wheel out to insult his own people just to prove loyalty? You're mistaking symbolic decoration for true inclusion. Someone selected, not freely elected by a people embracing diversity. Don’t confuse crumbs with equality.

Now back to your obsession with "respecting your host." You think Nigerians from other tribes are foreigners in Lagos? That’s the root of your warped thinking. You call fellow citizens guests on their own soil. What next? Should a Benue man need a visa to enter Lekki?

You proudly say “I want what Americans want”, but here’s the twist: what Americans want is diversity, equal opportunity, and a system where even the son of an immigrant can become vice president. That’s what you benefit from while typing all this tribal gatekeeping from their country. You enjoy the fruits of inclusion abroad while planting seeds of exclusion at home.

You're asking me to “go to my village and invite Fulanis to rule.” See how you're wired? Leadership isn’t about ethnicity, it should be about competence and choice.

And let me be clear: nobody becomes “liberal” because it's not their land. What we become is principled. We want a nation where all Nigerians, not just the ones that speak your dialect, have equal rights. If you can’t process that, then it’s not me that’s doing choo choo, you have derailed completely.
Lagos belongs to all Nigerians. You can’t cherry-pick nationalism abroad and practice apartheid at home.

You never talk wetin dey pain you. Na so so Lagos Lagos Lagos
See how you’re dancing in circles.
You’re shouting “why only Lagos” as if Lagos is a spiritual realm exempt from logic. The moment Lagos is mentioned, tribalists like you start vibrating like it’s a personal attack. Lagos is Nigeria’s commercial capital, not your ancestral shrine, so yes, we will talk about it more because its relevance is national, not village-level like some places you’re trying to compare it to.

You brought up Bianca like that’s your trump card. Oga, Bianca was opposed by a fringe group, not the state apparatus. She contested anyway because Anambra doesn’t have a legal structure blocking her. Lagos, on the other hand, has seen politicians actively push policies and campaigns built on “deport them,” “vote for our own,” and “you must be son of the soil to belong.” You know the difference, stop pretending.

And don’t act brand new, non-indigenes win elections in multiple states across Nigeria. An Edo man was once elected chairman in Delta. Hausa people hold local posts in parts of the South. Even in Enugu, a Yoruba man contested and nobody burned the state. But Lagos? You lot act like the Oba’s crown is your birthright and the rest of Nigeria should just wash plates.

You say “immigration is a privilege” yet you’re in a foreign land enjoying rights you won’t give fellow Nigerians at home. You celebrate Nigerians being elected abroad, but foam at the mouth when another Nigerian runs in Lagos. Hypocrisy is doing jumping jacks in your argument.
Let’s be clear: what’s painful is not Lagos, it’s the double standard. The fact that you want openness, inclusion, and fair opportunity when you’re the minority in America, but when the tables turn in Nigeria, you become a bouncer at the gate of “indigeneship.”

You’re not defending tradition. You’re defending tribal paranoia. And the only thing worse than a tribalist is a tribalist trying to disguise his insecurity as patriotism.
So stop pointing at other states like a guilty man trying to distract from his mess. Clean your house first before you start shouting about someone else's compound.

You’re typing from the comfort of a country built on immigration, diversity, and merit, yet you’re here justifying tribal gatekeeping like you’re defending your family compound. You speak of "respecting your host" while supporting a system in Lagos that disrespects fellow Nigerians, people who share the same passport and pay the same taxes.

You enjoy the full benefits of a country where nobody asked if your ancestors were on the Mayflower before giving you healthcare, security, and the chance to thrive, but back home you support laws that ask other Nigerians to show state-of-origin receipts before they can even vote?

You say immigration is a privilege, so what is freedom of movement within your own country? Or is that also a privilege now, handed out based on dialect?
You live in the US where people from everywhere become governors, senators, even vice president, nobody tells them to “go back to their ancestral state.” But the moment an Igbo man wants to contest councillorship in Lagos, you're on the frontline with your "go back to your village" hymnal.

Celebrating fairness abroad while pushing segregation at home is not patriotism, it's plain cowardice.

Gloriousgbola is genuinely hilarious. Watching Nigerians criticize Trump’s immigration stance is top-tier comedy. Let’s be honest, no other country on this planet would stomach the kind of immigration chaos the U.S. has endured.

This is coming from Nigerians who can barely coexist with neighboring tribes in the same Nigeria, yet suddenly become global human rights advocates when it’s America. Imagine Ghanaians, and other West Africans flooding into Nigeria illegally like Latin Americans do into the U.S. –Nigerians wouldn’t wait for immigration officials.
They’d organize community eviction committees by lunchtime.

Yoruba man wins election as mayor of New Jersey, you rejoice and say Naijerians are dominating abroad.

Igbo man expresses intention to contest election in Lagos, you say "it can never happen, Igbos like to dominate".

It's okay for Nigerians to dominate abroad, but not okay for an Igbo man to "dominate" Lagos.

Oyibo man says you can't get automatic citizenship by birth in his country anymore, you say he is rącıst and ėvıI.

Then from that abroad that you are, you make a post telling an Igbo man that was born and raised in Lagos to go back to his state.

You want oyibo man to accept you despite the obvious difference in skin color, culture, mental superiority, geographical divide spanning thousands of miles, language and accent.

But you cannot accept a fellow country man just a few kilometers away, who looks exactly just like you, just because he speaks a different language or dialect.

Even an Igbo man from Anambra will feel superior to an Igbo man from Abakaliki just because he thinks he is more Igbo than the latter.

But if he goes to China he wants to be treated with dignity, like the royalty that he is not.

The Black man doesn't hate racism, he just hates the fact that he is the victim.

Even a Black man is nicer to an oyibo man than he is to his fellow Black man, not because he is naturally hospitable, but because he wants acceptance by the oyibo man.

This why I don't really join protests, because the people protesting are usually no better than the people they're protesting against.

When they get the opportunity, they usually do worse harm than they complained about.

The Black man may have a beautiful Black skin tone, but an ugly black mind.

Tragedies do happen whether u like it or not. It is not a matter of whether u think about it or u don't.

You have a car and u drive it with the intention of having a safe drive all year round. When that happens, u won't say kill urself rather u will look for means to fix ur car if u don't have valid comprehensive motor insurance covering ur car at that point. Now imagine u don't have financial capability nor insurance at that point; won't ur car remain in that damaged condition ?

Now Imagine u thinking no tragedy can befall u and somehow live happens. But u've rid urself of the ability to make babies. Shebi u will also remian in that condition for life? You taking away ur ability to make babies is u not making plan for any contingencies.

Well, it's not a must to have kids. If tragedy happens and someone loses their children, bringing in new ones as replacements doesn’t sit right with me. In fact, I see it as disrespect, like the ones you lost were just placeholders. Kids are not backup plans or spare parts.

I agree withe everything you've said here. People need to learn to appreciate kids as being gift of God to them irrespective of their gender.

Most people give birth to number of kids more than they can comfortably take care of because they are looking for a certain gender.

Some would cling on to archaic customs and traditional beliefs that if they don't have male kids then they don't have an heir that will take after them. This will keep pushing them to keep trying. Some also allow their parents and relatives' wants/desires to override how they want to plan their lives. I've seen a case where the husband's mother keeps encouraging her daughter-in-law to have try for a girl child because the woman only had sons and she now wants a daughter through her son's wife.
I said on this same thread that I plan to do a vasectomy after one or two kids, and they turned on me like I committed a crime. Even before Buhari entered office, I never liked the idea of having many children. One or two is enough for me.
After that, I know I can’t rely on CD forever, and I also don’t want my woman’s body going through unnecessary changes because of family planning, which seems like selfishness to me. Vasectomy makes the most sense for both parties.
I’ve noticed a lot of Africans are obsessed with having plenty kids like it’s a competition. That mindset isn’t for me sha.
