The key in booting out Jonathan was Attahiru Jega who seemed compromised at the time and Jonathan trusted him. This current coalition can try but with Mahmood Yakubu still the head of INEC, Tinubu losing in 2027 will be a miracle.
Flesh and blood didn't reveal this you. Weakling Gej refused to do the needful despite information and advise from top echelon of the party then. Nigerians are paying the price for Gej's weakness today.

Ọmọ. I'm alarmed to even imagine that he even mean some of these things he's saying. Like the guy didn't know the kind of tension that was in the air in that 2015.
There was no tension or anti-PDP energy where I was. And honestly, you too dey fear. Nothing will happen. If Tinubu cancels elections or rigs them in broad daylight today, the worst that’ll happen is a few protests, maybe some lives lost, and that’s it. It’ll all die down. He’ll crush anyone that tries anything funny.

The only time something serious happens is when you fail to carry the real power players and security chiefs along. Jonathan was just a coward, simple.

I think alot of people viewing how terrible they have suffered in that last 10yrs will take GEJ being brutal towards buhari as a price to pay to avoid APC experience.

If you listen to Jonathan talk about that 2015 election, be like say too many things happened behind the scenes that he was letting go. Even things that were downright evil I suspect. I won't call him weak, I'd say he has a low threshold for "violence" and was very empathetic compared to the rest.
OBJ in Jonathan's position with all that information would have not cared
Exactly my bro. There's no way obj would've lost that election. BlueRay is asking me jjc questions about what Gej could've done. Chai.

You mean being weak is allowing the will of the people to prevail? Not wanting bloodshed on account of subversion?

Majority wanted Buhari, turned out to be a very stupid decision in hindsight.

Jonathan having being a deputy governor, governor, vice president and President for 6yrs made the best personal decision, which in turn saved Nigeria from bloodletting that would have ensued. People were fleeing the country then; and nany people I know thanked God Jonathan made that call.
Baba nothing would've happened. Gej failed us.

You have not been able to point out one thing that would've saved Jonathan till now. I just showed u evidence that it was actually APC that thought Jega was going to do Jonathan's bidding prior to the election.

Na people wey still dey secondary school in 2012,2013,2014 and 2015 u fit dey use this revisionism tactics for.

You can claim that there was a great conspiracy against Jonathan and that the failings of his government was over-amplified by the opposition APC; I will certainly agree with u on that. But u saying there was something legal Jonathan should've done to avert the eventual loss of 2015 election; I will say u are just clowning.

You mirrored my thoughts exactly. They were no saints in Squid Game at all, everyone was guilty in one way or another. But what really got me was how the show reflected real life. It wasn't just about the violence or plot twists, the show literally exposed a lot of uncomfortable truths.

The whole idea of watching people suffer for entertainment? We already do that in real life. Reality shows, Nairaland trolling back in the day, Twitter drags, even people posting their pain online just for likes, it's all part of the same system. Squid Game just made it more obvious, more brutal.

And it hit globally because the struggle was universal, debt, desperation, trying to survive in a rigged system. It wasn’t just a Korean story, it was everyone’s story in some form. That’s why so many people saw themselves in those players.

Even the way the show looked, the colours, the childhood games, the creepy masks were all symbolic. They made something dark look playful on the surface, which is exactly how the world works sometimes. We package struggle in ways people can easily consume without feeling guilty.

So yeah, Squid Game wasn't just hype, it said a lot about us. About what we watch, what we ignore, and how far people will go when they feel like they don’t have a choice.

That's why it stuck. It wasn’t just a show. It was a loud, uncomfortable truth wrapped in bright colours.
Superb take💯.

It's either you are poor student of history or you have a short memory about the happenings in the run-off to the 2015 general elections.

The election was slated for February 14 2015 but it was postponed to March 28 2015 on the excuse that the security forces needed to pound Boko Haram for another 6 weeks before the election can take place.

Even though the opposition kicked, Jonathan proceeded with the 6 weeks postponement. Did gbag in any way improve his lot?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-31221545.amp

If u remmeber how bad the opposition and majority of Nigerians wanted Jonathan out, u would've understood that even if he postponed the election for one full year he would still have lost.

In case you don't know, the same Jega u are clamoring for Jonathan to have removed was actually seen by the opposition to be acting in Jonathan's favor. It was after Jonathan had lost the election PDP started accusing Jega of bias.

Below is APC accusing PDP of bias prior to the 2015 presidential elections

https://dailypost.ng/2014/02/20/2015-jega-trusted-apc-chieftain/

Please don't insult us by trying to rewrite history we lived through.

There was little or nothing Jonathan would've done that would've saved him from the political tsunami that happened prior to the election
Lol, even before the election people already smelled a rat and were advising Gej to remove jega. One of such people was fayose.

Answer the questions and stop being clever by half.

Tell us what exactly Jonathan should've done different when Southerners don't want him and Northerners think he didn't do enough for peace to reign in the North.

You just sit down here talking as if we all didn't live through that period. I was resident in the Northwest between 2014 and 2015. When the result of the 2015 elections were declared , it was a sigh of relief for southerners resident in the north and it was celebration galore for the core northerners. Take it from me that this country would've been set ablaze if Jonathan had tried to use the power in the way u are suggesting .

You seem to be a poor student of history, if not u would've remembered what happened in Ivory Coast when Lauren Gbagbo refused to step down after losing an election thereby leading the country into a civil war. Mind u , Jonathan knows he's from a minority tribe and knows how badly it will end if his personal ambition leads the country into a civil war.

You can bemoan all day about how Jonathan was weak about the 2015 elections, but the truth is he didn't have much options left open to him.
Just postpone the elections and replace the inec chairman. Only hold the election when you know everything is good to go. Gej is a disgrace.
Fayose advised him back then but he refused to listen.

What do u suggest GEJ should've done differently then?

1. Should he have rigged an election in which fellow Southerners wanted him ousted?

2. Should he have stopped INEC from declaring the results of the 2015 elections ?

3. Should he have refused to congratulate and hand over to Buhari when the results of the election showed he had lost ?
Look at what you're asking me. It’s like you’ve never played real politics or you’ve never been close to people who actually had power and knew how to use it. Bro, if GEJ had used his power the way he should have, none of those questions you’re asking would even exist.

If Gej wasn’t weak, he wouldn’t have let that nonsense slide in the first place. Say what you want about Tinubu, but one thing he’s doing right is using power without flinching. He doesn’t care what anyone thinks, and that’s how power works.

Back in PDP’s time, even with the corruption, the money at least circulated. Everyone was eating. Now under APC, they’re hoarding everything for themselves. This kind of setup can’t continue.

They’re clearly not serious about removing Tinubu. Peter Obi couldn’t beat him as a private citizen, yet somehow they believe he can take him down now — singlehandedly — while he’s sitting in Aso Rock.
The level of delusion among some Obidients is honestly wild.
You can’t take out a power structure like this by standing alone. Without strategic alliances, it’s a dead mission. Look at the U.S. — even Trump, with all his pride, had to swallow his ego and work with people who not only once insulted, and mocked him but also with people he once labeled the “deep state,”(equivalent of corrupt and regular politicians in Nigeria) people he publicly trashed and called enemies. Why? Because he understood the stakes. That’s how power works.

This is not fantasy. It’s politics. And in politics, you either build alliances or you lose. Simple.

Squid Game S3 (2025)

Greed won and won big!.

This show peaked at Season 2, and I knew Season 3 (which, in hindsight, feels like Part 2 of S2) was going to crescendo into an ending that might not sit well with many people. But I’m not one of them.

To understand and digest that ending, you have to realize, there are no saints in this story only sinners. Not the rich Americans looking for a new bloodsport, not the organizers or enablers of the game, and certainly not the participants whose greed was so insatiable that even when given the option to leave, they kept voting to continue. (A fatal flaw of democracy: when the number of idiots outweighs the sane and rational.) In hindsight, it was a perfect ending, in my books.

Now to the elephant in the room: man, the Americanization of the entire S3,especially the last 15 minutes of the finale, was an eyesore. The actors playing the "Americans" were terrible. They spoke English, yes, but it felt like a foreign language. I know this was done in preparation for the show's crossover into Hollywood, but I’m still not convinced about what the gringos plan to do with this premise.

All in all, this show had already cemented its place in pop culture history long before this season. It's easily one of the GOATs,one of the finest exports from Korean cinema, and, quite frankly, one of the best-looking shows ever. The production value is top-tier. The cinematography? Top shelf. Every scene popped with colours, literally everywhere you looked. That’s just one of my many takeaways.

And yes, this Season 3 is totally watchable, and fitting, in its own twisted way. I liked it.

Special... Special... show.

7/10.
I watched the first season and loved it — but I held off on season two because almost every review I came across said it was trash. Now, with this latest season getting dragged too, I’m starting to think that might be my cue to jump back in.

I remember when season one dropped, people were calling it overrated and boring — yet I binged it and found it insanely gripping. One thing I’ve come to understand with audiences is this: they love simple, spoon-fed plots. Anything that requires real thinking? They’ll label it “confusing” or “bad.”

These days, once the mob hypes a film, just know it’s probably mid. And when they collectively trash something? There’s a high chance it’s gold. Take Sinners — easy plot, zero mental effort — and they ate it up. But give them something layered and complex, like Tenet or Squid game, and suddenly they’re lost and angry.
