Jobs/Vacancies / Re: What Is The Best Certification For Someone Who Needs An IT Job? by tenhap(m): 4:29pm On May 21, 2009
First, go for A+ certification, after that consider Microsoft certifications or if u have the heart, jump straight on to Cisco (CCNA). Armed with these certifications and of course the knowledge, u have one foot thru the door. Goodluck.

Education / Re: Crazy Things You Did In High School? by tenhap(m): 12:38pm On Dec 08, 2008
1) Back in the year 1988, I bought 'kuli-kuli' on credit to the tune of twenty seven naira (mind u, each was sold at 10 kobo). Would stuff them in my pockets and take a long walk at night chewing away. Also borrowed money from anyone/everyone and accumulated debt to the tune of eighty-two naira (can never forget the figure). My dad was damn embarrased when he had to repay my debt. I had to draw up a list of those owed and the money was handed over to my boarding house master. It was like visiting the bank to withdraw ur money, i would accompany u to the housemaster to authenticate your claim and u get paid what i owed u!!!

2) Was given a blackeye by a junior student when we went to junior staff quarters to play football. I held him on oath not to let his friends in (doubt if the idiot did cause i could tell from the look on them faces afterwards).

Jobs/Vacancies / Enquiry: Galaxy Backbone Plc. by tenhap(m): 12:09pm On Aug 25, 2008
Dear Nairalanders,
A friend of mine is considering a switch from an NGO to Galaxy Backbone plc (a formal offer has not been made).
At the NGO, he currently earns a little above 300k or so.
The job is IT related(but not entry level).
Any info you have on Galaxy Backbone will be most appreciated. Your honest info on conditions of service (pay package compared to other sectors, training opportunities, etc) please.
I await your kind responses.
Thank you.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I'm Dying: Who Can Help? by tenhap(m): 4:12pm On Feb 22, 2008
At times we wish the worst for ourselves via utterances we make. My dear sister, first i must say ur caption for this post was not aptly chosen.
However, as per the BP issue, yes, 140/90 is not normal but that does not mean u will not get the job.
Several issues can be responsible.
HBP may be hereditary, it could also be owing to other factors like being overweight and all that. The drugs u were given can surpress the condition but if the underlying cause it not addressed, it would only be on a temporary basis.
When i had a change of job last year, my BP at the test hit the roof - 170/120! Meanwhile i was feeling quite normal.
I was placed on drugs for about three weeks and in the end, it was brought down to about 128/80. Of course when i got the job, i quit the drugs cause i gather some of them have long-lasting effects. In a shot while, my BP went up again to about 160/95 or so. It wasn't until i took the issue into my hands that things started facing a workaround.
The body needs exercise, inculcate this in ur weekly routine. Cut down on salt intake and watch what u eat!
Go slow on alcohol (that's if u drink). Doing all these and more, u would be surprised at the result the next time u go for a BP test! You can even go the extra mile of purchasing a Sphyg (used to check bp), it does not cost much. This u can use in the short run to monitor ur progress.
True, the time to act is now because i am told the consequences of high BP can be disastrous once one approaches 40years! One does not need to wait that long anyway.
In summary, just chill out. You have gotten the job. The worst that can happen i suppose is ur office might ask u to go for another checkup after a few months.
Congrats.

People,
Rather than spend time waiting for someone to mail the dumps to u, do urself a favour and visit www.sadikhov.com .
Search for current dumps there and read peops experiences.
But please study hard first, to ensure u grab the fundamentals. Crashing the dumps and writting the exams may get u the certification but WILL not help u if u are interviewed for a position in that line.
Trust me, i am not wrong on this.

Romance / Re: Would You Let Your Brother Marry A Girl You Slept With? by tenhap(m): 4:47pm On Jan 16, 2008
Guy,
If i were u, i would have told my brother long before now. Better late than never. Tell him NOW!!! What will follow is a function of 'what will be will be'. Surprisingly, we have two kinds of men on earth:
1) Those who can live with a girl's sordid past, no matter how graphic
2) Those who would rather imagine and can't get the picture off their minds once told.
Your brother sure belongs to either of the above and his course of action would be determined as such.
For me, nothing feels as good as a brother's loyalty!
Look at it this way:
1) Your brother can never blame you for having dated the girl before him
2) Having this 'little' secret creates some kind of unhealthy bond between you and the girl (not wise)
3) It would be easier for your brother to adjust to the fact that you told him, cause he would be better placed to understand her fears (if he chooses to) and at the same time have no beef with you.
Think real deep bro!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: It Job In A Bank Or Job With A Telco Vendor by tenhap(m): 11:03am On Jan 16, 2008
You sound like you want a career in IT/Telecoms. If that be the case, take the Huawei option. I have a friend that started with them and after like 2 years, he switched to Alcatel with better pay. One thing is for sure, Huawei will train 'the living daylights out of u' and that is something i am sure will benefit u! My friend was was sent on long duration courses to China, Ivory Coast and within. He left Huawei in 2006 and then his pay i guess was close to 100k per month (so he told me). Of course, the training and experience repositioned him to get the better offer from Alcatel and of course, he'll keep climbing the ladder from there, while improving himself.
If on the other hand u don't want the real IT/Telecom challenge then GTB is still ok. I am sure that even if u do join the IT section of the bank, ur growth may not be as rapid as that of someone in marketing. I am also not sure that u stand to learn so much (from a wider perspective) in terms of IT.
Ask urself the one most important question: " what kind of career would challenge me most?"
Moreover, i do not know how fantastic GTB's entry level pay would be, compared to what Huawei would have to offer, Also check that out and decide if pay is the major motivating factor.
Travel / Re: New In Kaduna! by tenhap(m): 12:07pm On Jan 02, 2008
I have been living in KD myself for the past 3 months.
There is Gamji Park where u can chill and feel very close to nature. As per wildlife, not very much (crocs, ostriches, rabbits, turtles). The also have recreational facilities for kids and u can of course see the famous Lord Luggard bridge.
I also hear of another park -bambinos (never been there anyway).
If u like sitting out and feeling safe at the same time, try Kenfelis resort.
I must admit however, that u should not expect too much from Kaduna.
Regards.

Go to www.astatalk.com, create a profile, then login. Use the search feature and type in CCNP. It should list a couple of things some of which must be CCNP materials.
Also search for materials at www.4shared.com .
also check www.btebook.com .

Again, you can download latest pass4sure here:

http://www.4shared.com/file/31016938/4b2e1830/CCNA-640-8021_P4S-_245_questions.html?s=1

Just to give you some candid advice:
I first took it in 2003 and you know the certification is valid for only 3 years. You are expected to move up to CCNP or some other higher status b4 then. After 3 years, your certifcation becomes invalid and you have to retake CCNA.
That's what happened to me. I never had the time to upgrade to CCNP and when my office needed CCNA as requirement for my job, I had to recertify in October this year by taking CCNA 640-801.
Here is how i prepared on both occasions:
1) Read the Todd Lammle book at least twice and go through the exercises and answers. Take your time to read the book and do not rush it. You would be surprised at how interesting the book is and it won't be a burden to read.
2) Revisit the chapters you still do not feel comfortable with, be sure to take notes all the while.
3) Understand subnetting VERY well, u can never run away from that.
4) Research answers on the braindumps that you do not feel comfortable with, do not just cram.
5) By the time u get through the dumps like 5/6 times, i bet u are ready to roll.
6) Finally, have no fear. The exam go look like 'expo' when u dey write am, i tell u!!!!

There is a 6th edition of the book, tailored to reflect the changes.
Another useful forum is www.astatalk.com. You can search for and download ebooks, software (like router simulator), etc.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Where Can I Write Ccna In Ph Pls? by tenhap(m): 2:18pm On Dec 18, 2007
One such place would be NIIT (by fruit market), Port Harcourt. I wonder if they are still there. I took mine there in 2003.
Before you worry about braindumps, get a good textbook and grasp the fundamentals. Get the CCNA Study guide by Todd Lammle, he appears to be one of the best in the field and the book makes CCNA look damn easy!
Next, you can worry about the braindumps. That you can get from Sadikhov's forum (perform a search for this on google). Pass4sure braindumps are always spot on and even when you do find questions in the exam that you probably cannot recollect seeing in the dumps, your textbook knowlegde will see you through!
Best of luck.
Romance / Re: Should A Man Know His Wife Or Girlfriend's Past? by tenhap(m): 2:09pm On Dec 18, 2007
We must admit the truth that it is harder for men to come to terms with their partners' past, though there are exceptions.
When you are not the first in your girl's life, you may want to know the details just to get to know her better. If she had a not-so-impressive kind of past, you may perceive your relationship being threatened.
When you are the girl's first, the matter is even worse. If for instance you two get married, you may find yourself worrying about who else she may have been with after you. Trust me bro, this is an experience you may not want, !
At times you really feel like you are gonna die when you learn something!
Honestly, marriage, relationships etc are damn complex!
You need 2 things:
1) Maturity
2) God's grace!!
Finally, what you do not know does not hurt/haunt you!!!!

Romance / Re: Why Do Girls Like To Date Scammers? by tenhap(m): 2:17pm On Dec 11, 2007
Poster, I think your measure of respect for Yahoo boys is way out of proportion. Your post says it all.
The answer to ur question is simple:
SOME girls prefer yahoo boys cause they are far too ready to spend the money they didn't make genuinely.
SOME girls stick with yahoo boys in hope of marital commitment laced with 'goodies'. Most times, they get disappointed.
The part you may never get to hear is that nothing lasts for ever.
I have found out one thing anyway, Yahoo boys will always want to impress you with their lavish lifestyle no matter ur gender. But watch their eyes nearly pop out of their sockets when you care less about their antics, earn decent income and leave your mark on everyone you come accross. Greed and envy go together.

Word of advice:
Visualize what u can't see, just like that!
Sports / Re: Super Eagles Squad At Ghana 2008: What To Expect? by tenhap(m): 1:32pm On Dec 11, 2007
Mark my words, we stand a good chance of getting to the finals at least.
Nonetheless, a lot will depend on our boys and their attitude.
The coach can really bring out the best in them if he is ready to send errant players packing at the drop of a hat.
Selection should be based on merit (really difficult cause NFA is very meddlesome).
The so-called 'foreign-based' players would have a choice of putting in their best or be shown the door!
Family / Re: My Brother-In-Law And I by tenhap(m): 3:05pm On Dec 05, 2007
My dear lady, i hope you have been able to move on with your marriage like you mentioned.
I strongly believe you had/saw it coming. You experienced those warning alarm bells and that was the point at which you lost it!
God i'm sure will forgive you but it would take a husband crafted in 'wonderland' to accept what happened.
Anyway, no matter how it turns out, the one thing you can be sure of is that things can never be the same again.
If you can't handle it all by yourself, seek professional help or speak with a man of God.
Wish you luck even while i wish it never happens to me!!!

My friend, putting up this kind of post will only cause u to lose self confidence. That u have not gotten a job is not because u made a 2.2. Keep trying and pray HARD!
Let me share a little story with u:
Some guy graduated in 1998 (made 2.2), finished service in 1999, Got a Civil Service job in 2000 (8k plus a month)!
Started taking tests (aptitude) same 2000. Here we list some:
1. NNPC (2000) , NO SHOW
1. Nigerian Breweries (2001) - from over 500 people, went through the stages and got to the last 10 (interview) , NO SHOW!
2. WAEC (2001) - from over 1000 people, got to the last stage (23 people), NO SHOW!
3. CBN (2003) - 2 stages no interview, NO SHOW
4. Nigerian Breweries again (2004) - From over a couple of THOUSANDS to about 200 and something or so for the 2nd stage, NO SHOW!
5. Sema Business Solutions (2004) - interview, NO SHOW!

There were some other applications, no invitations but the guy took all in his stride and kept trying. Later, he realized there was one little mistake, he had been doing these all alone. What did he do? He acknowledged his shortcomings and took his case to GOD and left it in His hands. Year 2005 came calling and God took control. The guy got a change of job and today he earns more than 27 times what he started life on!
Everybody has his/her life's story to tell, I just told u MINE!!!!!

Moral of the story is, ? Figure it out for urself and bless God for 2day!

Religion / Re: Paying Tithes Or Giving To The Needy? by tenhap(m): 9:56am On Mar 22, 2007
Truth be told,
Try this:
Pay ur tithe every month for a year, observe the status of ur finances
Next do not pay at all for the very next year, observe the difference
I guess u would be in a better position to tell urself the truth.

Give to the needy, we should. But this in no way should substitute ur tithe, which DOES NOT belong to you, but GOD!!
