DTalented: @Texaco1, its true that everyone wont be an importer. That is why everybody is not here. Thousands of people come to Nairaland daily and many enter business forum daily but have never clicked on this thread.
I believe anyone following, reading or asking questions here wants to learn or help others on how to purchase online for use or for re-sale.
To me, You sound as if anyone who cant purchase in bulk or who doesn't have large sum is not qualified.
Many people here are students and i remember this thread started as a mini-importation guide.

No offence pls . Just saying my mind.
ok my guy , i understand , but u see not everyone has the same capability has you , believe me most ppl coming here to ask questions will not be in this business in the next few months , but they may be good in other areas , some people are naturally gifted in markets , while some have good foresight about marketable products , some dont even have all these but God has blessed them with money , and they are ready to bankroll any wonderful idea , all i am saying is try to gather some ppl , you dont have to be 100 or 50 , it may even just 5 to 10 , look at ways you can work together and make it , the African mentality is all about me me me , but the white man is about we , how can we do something.if u have 50k and u bring in goods at 2000 naira a piece and u sell to a good marketer at 3000 and he pays u instantly , even if the market price is 10k a piece u have made ur gain , does that marketer needs to import?he doesn't he will be waiting for you to bring more and ur own turnover is increasing , but we cant all agree on the same point that is why we are human beings , you may have your views and i may have mine , all i have been clamoring for is that you guys should team up and make some impact , buying one tab or buying 100 dollars jewelries isnt it , you have to look at the cost of maintaining urself before ur product arrives and put it all on the goods ,i may be wrong though , just saying my mind

you can divide urself up , you guys dont need to be in one place , if you bring in 500 pieces of tablets , that will amount to less than 20 unit per state ,but doing solo buying wont and doesnt last . team up and pool ur cash togheter that is the only way yopu can compete with alaba traders, they always team up and they bring their cash together and send one of them to china , he will even get it cheaper than any online bargain and they bring it in , your own cost price of their item will eventually be their own selling price , so tell me how can u compete ?
well it is up to you guys , it is ur call i wish you guys the best

9free: A move in the right direction I must confess but we must look at it from all perspective before venturing into it. Know it that some products that one can easily sell in one location(i.e Lagos, PH, ABJ) might be quite difficult for somebody else to sell another location(Makurdi, Kd,Bauchi). In essence we have consider/study the different markets and know their peculiar needs in other to come up with product(s) that will satisfy them and also at affordable prices.
what you need is just 3
one you need people that have finance ,
secondly you need people that know about it
thirdly u need people that can market
i have said it not everybody can or should be an importer , if mr A is ready to put down 100k for the tea m to work with and a profit margin is agreed upon which must not fail , maybe 10% that is cool , there are many people that have idle funds and they dont know what to do with it and if they know you guys are credible they wont mind putting the cash down ,
the second group are the people that do the buying or that knows about the products that will move they can also double up as the marketers they bring it down and sell ,
the only thing is there will not be too much profit, but it will be constant and that is the real name in business , constant turn over is the key to successful business not one hit profit on one item
You brought this suggestion on page 170, while 2sexy brought his on page 171. You seem to be quite knowledgeable about tabs, which is an advantage for all who want to tap into that market to get better deals on wholesales. I think people who are interested in tabs should team up with you to bring it in way cheaper than they're probably doing at the moment,, without compromising on quality.

On the other hand, there are some of us who don't know anything about tabs, and who would like to explore other opportunities on AE. I suggest other such people can also form a team with a team lead, perhaps someone like 2sexy or any other active person here. We can all jointly bring on suggestions of what to bring in, then eventually settle for something, after due research has been done.

My thoughts....
finally people are seeing the sense in what i have been saying all along ,team up together and pool ur resources together in terms of funds and knowledge , that is the only way you can forge ahead , all this 1 piece or 2 pieces purchases will not last .

Afroprince: I dont intend going to Libya, not in my dreams but if you are in a public forum to educate and you cant relay a simple info for intending travelers then u r being so unfair. If there is a risk then say it so that people can weigh their options and make decisions if they can bear the risk...do the right thing
My brother what do u want me to say,do u want people that are in libya to start spelling out the risks involved in getting there through the desert or the risk they face each day like abc here!
Even on this thread ppl living there have been saying it that there is a big risk involved,it is on tv ,radio stations, and the internet the serious risk involved in crossing the desert, what about the country itself?we are talking about a country that is been run by militia men ,and you still expect ppl living there to have the time to come on nairaland to be dictating the risks?anyone that feels he is a mario or rambo can try his luck

FOLYKAZE: Which good governance are you refering to? You cant stay in lagos and know how things happen in Ondo state....

Every Ondo state citizen knows that he didn't deliver anything. He is just a political thug forcing himself in the governor office. Compare his administration to that of Agagu and show me how he has improve the state......also dont speak about places you are not presently in or know anything about. What you see on tv are camera works, no good road, on electricity, lot of uncomplete schools and projects
It is my prayer that musinwa or whatever he is called doesn't see your post, because if he does ,he will flood this thread with. 100 pictures of mimiko projects in ondo state that will chase everybody off this thread due to the mb they will be consuming to load.
