Hey what is a "come on"? You wearing a spag top and dancing in front of me is not a "come on" to me as I still won't get with you if I won't.

I don't see how any sane individual can claim that a woman is to be blame for being mollested due to what she wore. Nigeria is truly effed
You didn't answer my question.
You need to clear it out biko. Give your clothes to someone you are fatter than (how fat are you? Send me a picture biko. I need to see you) and collect those of someone fatter than you
As if even the bible did not make mention of godly women who wear not just beautiful but attractive. Note that the two are different.

When Jesus had his feet washed by a prostitute, how come no one saw it as the woman handing out temptation to Jesus?
Because washing of feet was not seen as a come-on in Jesus’ time. Unless you have a foot fetish, I’m not sure it would be now. What do you think it meant? I’m curious to know why you would ask such a question. I’m pretty sure you know the rest of the story.

@ Mynd…Who told you mini shirts are appropriate office attire? If a woman wants to be taken seriously in the workplace, she does not wear a mini skirt. Now if the vibe she is after is, “I’m willing to sleep my way to the top.” Then the micro-mini is the way to go. As for these woman you claim are wearing mini skirts because it’s easier to trek up and down stairs…really? Spare me! There are plenty of longer skirts that are not restricting at all. Kick pleats for one. Seriously? “It’s easier to go up and down the stairs if the person behind me can see my a$$.” bi o ti wa ni yi lare? Excuses are excuses no matter how you package them.

@ topic

There was a time when being naked was the norm, and was not seen as a problem. I see now what PAGAN 9JA meant when he said the media has sexualized nud.ity. It is an unfortunate reality. The innocence is gone. No matter how we try to overlook it. No matter how we try to pretend showing almost everything is not a big deal, it is too late. The images that the commercial media has bombarded us with have guided our minds as to what is “sexy, alluring, and provocative”.

We can look away, we can learn to withstand temptation, we can go back and forth about who may not be attracted to this or that, but in the end we are answerable to God. We need only be honest when we look in the mirror.

When did I become the Ambassador de Christian chatbox? I gave my opinion. I’m not the fashion police.

Everyone has made good points. This is my opinion, for what it’s worth. It is never wise to go by what “society” says is appropriate. Most times “society” lets celebrities choose what is “in”.

This is a Christian chatbox. In the end, if you look in the mirror and honestly think, “Yes. I would wear this in front of God.” He sees us always. If we are honest with ourselves and with God, we are good.

RedClay: Well texanomaly If you'd judge the “Females” by the threads here on NL - I'm speechless.

Anyway you made a good point. Modest dressing and chastity are indeed Biblical perquisite for women. I wonder though, if we all really understand this part.
I also said it was from things I have observed personally. Maybe you missed that part.

I thought this was a biblical discussion... undecided

Hmmmm...You have made me think about something though...maybe I am being judgmental. I'll work on that. smiley
Should a woman be molested because she has provocative clothes on?
Should kids be forced not to wear leggings and yoga pants to school because 'it distracts the boys'?
Should women constantly have to fear going out late at night because they didn't say hello to the guy who lives down the street, and he might take offense and bring his boys to gang rape her because "she's feeling too big"?

So sure he's free to look, but not free to touch undecided
That feminists believe dressing provocative is a woman's right doesn't mean they have to dress that way too.
All they've said in essence is feel free to wear whatever you want with the fear of men ogling you undecided
It's more a live and let live scenario here.

*disappears again*

aManfromMars kiss I can see why that passage's very disturbing.
So do you think men should not ogle if women put it out there? If you put something on display, are you not giving others the right to check it out? Shouldn’t men have the right to look if they choose to? I thought feminists wanted equal rights? That’s a little one sided don’t you think? It seems feminists want equal rights as long as they get what they want. “Have their cake and eat it too.” That doesn't seem very equal. undecided

All of them dress conservatively without boobs hanging out. Hirsi Ali is a politcian and is mostly in suits. The other, Amanda Marcotte, is either in a t-shirt or a simple dress.

You are just repeating the nonsense stereotype your housewife female pastor has brainwashed you about feminism.

Christianity EtcRe: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by texanomaly(f): 8:57pm On Jun 29, 2014
RedClay: How? Can you explain this part?
I was referring to this…
texanomaly: Dress:
Anyway…in the US, and for a very long time in most parts of Nigeria, being dressed is the norm. Feminists would have us believe that dressing provocatively is our RIGHT, and men have no right to lust after women who have half their bosoms and backside hanging out. Now it may be your right to wear what you want, but don’t get all indignant when men act like dogs around a woman who is obviously in “heat”. Just my opinion. I HAVE A RIGHT TO ONE…REMEMBER…
I also feel women have no respect for themselves because of some things I’ve observed here on NL and in person. How many threads have you seen where a woman complains about cooking and cleaning for her boyfriend? What do we hear…”I do all this for him and he doesn’t give me anything, but he expects me to have se.x with him.” Why should he give you anything? Are you his wife, his mother, his sister or anyone in his family? If you are willing to have se.x with him, do his laundry and clean his house without him marrying you why does he owe you anything? Se.x is your reward. If you didn’t enjoy it you wouldn’t be there. Unless you are there for the money, and all of the above is the price for that. What is the difference between sleeping with your bf before marriage and a prostit.ute? The difference is she isn’t a hypocrite about it. Many women who claim to be Christians have little respect for God or themselves when they show up to church on Sunday then go home and bang their bf.

Before anyone (LB) gets the idea I’m not being fair, one of the stipulations of this discussion was a biblical view. Isn’t modest dress and chastity a prerequisite for women in the Bible, and those who follow its teachings? I’m just following the guidelines.

https://content.boards.baltimoreravens.com/public/style_emoticons/default/popcorn%20drama.gif
First of all I said this is my opinion. I do realize that the economy has made it impossible for some women to stay home. This fact does not change what I feel is a major factor in destroying families and communities all over the world. Respect: hmmm let me see…do men in general have more respect for women these days? Let’s see…Personally I think men have as much respect for a women as she has for herself. Feminism has lowered women’s standards to the point where many have absolutely no respect for themselves and even less for men.

Dress: Wow this one…PAGAN 9JA had an interesting thread about how the media has sex.ualized nak.edness. This may be true from a tribal standpoint. I think he made a good argument. Many tribes walked around naked and never gave it a thought till Christians came and told them they were indecent. Didn’t something similar take place in the Bible? That’s for another thread I guess.

Christianity EtcRe: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by texanomaly(f): 7:44pm On Jun 29, 2014
Divorce: skyrocketed since women started working outside the home. Think on that one. Why do you think that is?
Juvenile delinquency: skyrocketed since women don’t take care of their kids anymore. Instead, children are warehoused for 8-12 hours a day in facilities where they are not allowed to be disciplined, have no support system and no one particularly cares about them. They are being raised by strangers who have no interest or investment in their upbringing. They are awakened and rushed out of the house in the morning by parents who are only concerned about getting to work on time. They come home to parents who are too tired to deal with them, so they feed and bathe them and put them to bed. Between getting home and bedtime, the children are either spoiled rotten or ignored. Spoiled because their parents feel guilty for not spending enough time with them, or ignored because their parents a too tired to deal with them. Children need a mother and a father. A mother’s roll, however, is key in raising well balanced children. We as women have “nurturing” built-in. It is what we are built for emotionally and physically. I know there are exceptions. I’ve seen wonderful single dads raise exceptional kids. That is not an easy road on a man or a woman and it can take its toll. When all is said and done, children need someone who loves them, cherishes them and has a stake in how they turn out to raise them properly.

b]Crime rates among juveniles: See the above paragraph. A solid foundation starts at home. Without it, everything becomes unstable and society starts to crumble around us.
Christianity EtcRe: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by texanomaly(f): 7:43pm On Jun 29, 2014
There is nothing wrong with a patriarchal society where the man is the head of the family. If we are going by the Bible, this is supported severally. I’m sure any of you could come up with any number of scriptures to that end.

Where to start…now I am in the US. You tell me if this is happening in Nigeria.
