Night Terrors
by Tex

You always said it was because you love me,
This is how it’s done.
The time will come
Only you could share,
Interlopers beware.

Duality at its finest.
Falsehood in abundance.
Treachery in transcendence,
Judas kiss,
Fraudster’s bliss.

Through no fault of your own,
Your cards had already been dealt,
The demons of your past felt.
Time was not your friend,
All that begins must end.

My spirit floats above it all.
My soul is free,
Twain never to be.
Betrayal, even from kin,
Alas you have died in your sin.

My destiny is separate from yours.
Our paths divergent,
No theme recurrent,
My consciousness eclipsed,
My innocence no longer stripped.

there is a place in the heart that
will never be filled

a space

and even during the
best moments
and
the greatest
times

we will know it

we will know it
more than
ever

there is a place in the heart that
will never be filled

and

we will wait
and
wait

in that
space.

When Your Tears Fall Like Rain
by Tex

You try to pretend, but your life is hollow.
Admittedly you seem to be free,
But this emptiness just seems to follow.
When your tears fall like rain,
Who will be there to stop the pain?

Deep in your heart you know it will only grow.
In this game there may be fame, but in the end will it be the same?
Now you’ve moved on, but that feeling…it can’t be forgotten.
When your tears fall like rain, who will be there to lighten your burden?

Even if it’s only make believe, t’was always there with relief you could be certain.
Who is there to listen when moisture starts to glisten?
Can you afford to burn that bridge?
The one you used to cross for safety.
Who will talk you off the ledge, when your tears fall like rain?

Don’t forget where you've been,
And try to stay sane,
When your tears fall like rain.

You Don't See Me
by Tex

All I want is to hear your voice.
I try not to want you, but I have no choice.
You say you’re lonely, but it’s not for me,
cuz I’m not the one you call.
I’m not the one you see.

You sit behind your castle wall.
Inside your heart guarded from fall.
All I want is to set you free,
To show you all that is precious,
And beautiful in this life for you and for me.

I feel like the earth is spinning off its axis.
As my heart waits hopeful, but anxious.
I’m here. I’ve heard your plea.
Take a chance, you won’t regret.
Just a moment for me?

This heart and yours a lovely duet,
They both will sing, on that you can bet.
From anything real, you seem to flee.
If at last you give me the key,
To only you I promise to be true,

Alas, I long for what cannot be,
Because you…you don’t see me.

These 3 poems where recovered by Seun. They are from my new moniker after I deactivated. To be honest…I’m glad to be texanomaly again. I regretted it the moment I deactivated. Be absolutely sure before you do.

These are from “More Random Ramblings”. I guess the original “Random Ramblings From the Mind of Tex" after Jan 10 is gone. I thought I backed up all my poetry, but some is missing. It is what it is…

Sorry. This situation must be very difficult for you too. Hang in there. Thank you for stepping up and doing all you can to make sure this doesn't happen again.

dagr8: Of course the State laws does. Many Cultural/tribal laws do not even favour the women. In the case of the woman you mentioned, may be she doesn't want to hurt anybody or she is afraid. Fight for your Right. That is the slogan.
If it is in there culture that the in-laws own their brother's properties, the tribal elders will definitely go with the tradition. But we know these things are "faulty" and selfish.

Did the husband have a written will before his demise? Whose name is on the document of the house he built for her? I think this alone settles it all.
That is the problem. The husband put is brother as next of kin on the deed. He trusted his brother to take care of his wife and family. The woman went along, or perhaps didn't know. One thing I've noticed when a loved one dies...You find out who really loves and cares for you.

I have said this before...women need to be aware of all aspects of family properties and finances. She needs to make sure she knows the law and act accordingly. Husbands...if you love your wife and children make sure they are protected in case you pass. Discuss these things NOW before it is too late.

Ceasar1: Ermmm.. *clears throat ** Is this still a Christian Chat Box?

My eyes must be seeing things.
woky: Now I knw what You mean.. grin
Of course it’s a Christian chatbox. Shouldn’t Christians discuss current events and issues that affect them? If Christians don’t make their voices heard on issues that could impact their very beliefs, those beliefs get trampled beneath the feet of those who oppose Christianity. I would venture to say that not talking about, or doing anything about these issues only gives more ammunition to Atheists and the like. We have to plant our feet and make a stand, or we will be trod upon. The rights of the religious are just as important as anyone else’s. We can’t burry our heads in the sand and pretend there is not a war raging all around us.

InesQor: Other things might come to mind:

What if Jesus didn't want to be seen in his resurrected body by everyone, and appear to only his own? He was known to have liked his privacy while he was alive.

Recall also that in his resurrected body Jesus was said to have walked through walls and doors. I am not sure that body is the kind of flesh that you and I have. We are also told it could be manifested to give a solid feel to the touch (to convince Thomas).

There is really no other example of such a body, that we can possibly understudy. If Jesus indeed ascended / teleported in such a body, it might not be so hard to believe if you believe such a body can exist in the first case.
I can’t remember the name of my own thread…it was something about coming to earth to gain a body. Grrrrrrrr…I wish I could find it.

@ bolded
We are so “on the same page”. I’m interested to know if we are thinking alike.

alexleo: Now when you people talk about dont judge it gets me worried whether you people understand what being judgmental means. If i should go by your statement i ll still accuse you too of judging amanfrommars by saying you are not sure he will ever come back to christianity. He can come back to christianity even sooner than anyone may think.
First is that i didnt say that a GENUINE christian cannot fall but i said he cannoot fall to the abysmal level of atheism. Now any genuine christian that later falls into atheism is simply deceiving himself. In his heart of heart he knows he is trying to suppress something. And he ll keep battling with those beautiful and real encounters he had with the Lord all the days of his life, no matter how many times the person shouts there is no God. I"m telling you what i ve witnessed live among atheists, not theory.
Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I thought I said the bolded. I'll work on being more concise. Thanx

AMFM is a friend. He will work this out. I pray he finds the peace he seeks.

davidylan: I have no idea why people waste their time with this type of unnecessary wavering. If you want to be a sinner, please do so with all pleasure. If you want to be a true child of God, then do so. All these "i'm not sure, well maybe, i try, i'm confused, for now i'm good" is hogwash. Even the bible is quite plain... the christian journey is all about choice... all the time you could be spending being a full blown sinner should not be wasted confusing yourself that you're living a "Christ-like" life when in fact you're no better than a murderer (all sin is sin). A "Christ-like" life is one of purpose and complete devotion to the gospel of salvation... not one that is filled with confused misdirection.

Which "law" protects women's rights more? Tribal or other? These are just my questions. Surely there are other questions and comments about how far feminism (women's rights.) have come in helping women economically in Nigeria?

That sounds like it should be in politics or culture. undecided

At the risk of turning this thread into a war zone, I was kind of hoping PAGAN 9JA and friends would weigh in on the bolded.

@ the economic rights of women

I have a friend who's mother lost everything after her husband died. Her in-laws came in and took everything, including the house her husband built for her. She decided not to contest the action because she took it to the tribal elders and they sided with the in-laws. Does this kind of thing happen often in Nigeria. What can women do to protect themselves in a male dominated society? Also, should tribal law take precedent over federal, state and local law?

Now little "gansta wana-be's use them to show they are "down" or whatever. I worked in the Texas prison system. It was part of my job to know gang tattoos and what they mean. I'm probably more "gangsta" by association than you any day of the week.
First off you are talking to a black African man.

Your country, USA, was built on the backs of slaves. Black African slaves

Before that, the land was stolen from the indians who were killed anyhow.

More land then stolen from mexico

If slavery, colonization and theft all equal christianity, then be my guest.

The usa is not the most developed or fair country. In fact, the USA fails on many issues that other western developed countries excel. Healthcare, life expectancy, literacy, foriegn policy, etc
You got me on the slavery part. The South tried to secede so they could continue their evil. The United States of America kicked their azzes and sent them crying to their mommas. The Native American issue is something I do feel was unfair. Unfortunately the US didn't fight for them. They nearly destroyed them. Yup...you got me on the Mexico thing too. I guess every country in the world needs to give back all land they have ever stolen, including tribal lands taken by force from other tribes.

You've also got me on healthcare, life expectancy and foreign policy. Obamacare sux, Americans are too fat and Obama is clueless when it comes to foreign policy. I'm pretty sure we are not the nation with the lowest literacy rates though. (btw, this is how "foreign" is spelled)

Thanks for setting me straight.
Inesqor,

You have clearly been debunked. Christianity has nothing...nada....zero effect on these countries being ranked better than others.

The common denominator between all these countries is secularism

The most christian countries in the world are in Africa
The most christian country in the west is America (USA)

Infact, practicising christianity is negative for a country's progross
Are you serious, quoting America. Then making the bolded statement. What religion do you think almost all of the people who went to the Americas where? Who built America into what it is today. Christianity was, and still is the religion with the highest percentage in America. America's progress was built on the backs of a predominantly Christian people. Are you trying to say America is not a progressive country? How does quoting America establish the bolded to be true?

InesQor: It actually irks me how some of our NL folk (atheists especially) are always on his case, like he is the only one on here ever to honestly seek answers. The condescending and assaulting attitude from those that "know it all and you can't be found trying to find out otherwise", is rather irritating (though I know that is not my business).

I guess he is currently seeking tangible reasons to believe what his heart probably tells him is true. It's the walk of honesty, and eventually - like all things must - the dust will settle and he'll make his choices. It might be too hasty to assume he'll never return to Christianity. And I guess he might open another account and kind of go under the radar. Anyway that's what I did might do under similar circumstances.
I try not to assume anything. That's why I said "may" not return to Christianity. As for the rest, I hope he finds his way. smiley
