Since FancisTony doesn’t like to read, I’ll break my response up so he won't be too stressed. ![]() Okay This is my opinion: I’m of two or three or four or more minds where feminism is concerned. Where do we draw the line? What is the balance? This is a tough one for me. On the one hand I believe the beginning of feminism was to enrich and improve the lives of woman. Somewhere along the way it went terribly wrong. Women can now vote. I do appreciate and take advantage of this blessing. I read and watch news about political issues that affect me, my community, country and the world. Because I have the right to vote, I can use that information to try to change the things I feel need changing and fight for the things I feel need to stay in place. The place where feminism went devastatingly wrong is when it started to destroy the family. The family is the fabric that binds society together. Once the family breaks down, it causes a rippling effect that destroys the very foundation that holds societies up. Once a foundation cracks it becomes unstable. The longer it goes without repair, the more damage is done. Let’s look at what feminism has done for woman in America and how those “benefits” have affected society. |
Since LB seems to be absent, I'll begin. Mirriam-Webster: fem•i•nism noun \ˈfe-mə-ˌni-zəm\ : the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities : organized activity in support of women's rights and interests Full Definition of FEMINISM 1 : the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes 2 : organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests Feminism From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, defending and the intention of establishing a state of equal political, economic, cultural, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women. Charles Fourier, a Utopian Socialist and French philosopher, is credited with having coined the word "feminism" in 1837. The words "feminism" and "feminist" first appeared in France and the Netherlands in 1872,Great Britain in the 1890s, and the United States in 1910, and the Oxford English Dictionary lists 1894 as the year of the first appearance of "feminist" and 1895 for "feminism". Depending on historical moment, culture and country, feminists around the world have had different causes and goals. Most western feminist historians assert that all movements that work to obtain women's rights should be considered feminist movements, even when they did not (or do not) apply the term to themselves. Other historians assert that the term should be limited to the modern feminist movement and its descendants. Those historians use the label "protofeminist" to describe earlier movements Urban Dictionary: Feminism The belief that women are and should be treated as potential intellectual equals and social equals to men. These people can be either male or female human beings, although the ideology is commonly (and perhaps falsely) associated mainly with women. The basic idea of Feminism revolves around the principle that just because human bodies are designed to perform certain procreative functions, biological elements need not dictate intellectual and social functions, capabilities, and rights. |
Wanna be a pain na. Am I not allowed?
No...you are not allowed! ihedinobi2: *sigh* Sure you areHuh ![]() geez... *rolls eyes* @topic I didn’t even know there was a topic. So what’s this topic about, because the Bible definitely does not support feminism? So…Is the topic on how much the Bible is against feminism? I wasn’t around when the topic was started I guess, so I’m not sure where it has gone so far. Did someone define feminism, because it can be anything from wanting your husband to help around the house to abortion rights? Feminsm is an umbrella term. What are we talking here? |
