Hello e-family. I hope your day has gone well. |
Uyi Iredia: ^^^6 jobs online for a soil scientists in a country with how many graduates in the course ? Easily in 10's of thousand, if not much more. I think you are yet to appreciate that the Nigerian govt. doesn't value research (How can it ? It overvalues pay of top govt. workers_esp Senators_and underperfoms woefully because it foesn't value good governance). We are talking about a govt. that had to be fought tooth and nail while students like my sis. were at home (for 5 months +) just to provide funding for universities which are deficient in infrastructure. Take a basic anatomy course like physiology being kept alive only by the tenacity of its professors as my sis. details. Research jobs for physiologists ? Next to nil (and I am being considerate). In fact, few physiology stdts in Nigeria actually intended to sit the corse they were forced otherwise like my sis (who wanted to do medicine). Can you imagine med. students that have never worked with cadavers ? In fact, the teaching of physiology to med. stdts is woeful, for this reason a mate of my sister's is studying physiology to understand the body b4 going to medicine. At this point, I think you should realize the most basic need for Nigerians is good governance, after that the rest (including a good research tradition along lines of modern science, and use of it) will follow.Hold up there Iredia….I was simply addressing Rationalmind's post. It had nothing at all to do with all this. While I agree governance is a grave issue, it is not the issue at hand. I appreciate your passion. I also understand your anger, but please do not direct it toward me. Stick it were it is pertinent. That is not in regard to this particular post. Thank you Sir! Btw…it was 6 websites with multiple jobs on each site. |
harlos: thank you Tex, happy new year once again... I love u 2. thanks |

Both of you should be in bed. Jbluv55: Hey Texy. Wusup wt you? Aint you gonna say hello to ur boy Jb?Hi Jb…I am ready for the VN I think. harlos: That boi ehn...smh… |

django1: That poster exaggerated but he's actually stating something factual. The bolded is true everywhere. I have seen the Titilayo oyibo videos. |
scarred9jan: U two should hook up, already... *rolling eyes* ![]() |
oluwashaddow: this is why you see most foreigners who cum to Nigeria thinks Nigeria is only abt the yorubas, u even see dem trying to speak yoruba n some of dem even learn it before cuminMost foreigners, if they have even heard of Nigeria, don't know anything about the indigenous tribes. As a mater of fact, many think Africa is a country. smh. I knew there was a country called Nigeria. I did not know of the different tribes. |
django1:How many white people are even aware there are different tribes in Nigeria? To be honest, I was not aware tribalism existed till coming to NL. I knew two Nigerian families before I knew NL existed. I discovered one was Yoruba. I researched the language because of this fact. I know the other family is mixed tribally. I have no idea what those tribes are. I had no idea there was so much hostility between the different tribes till coming here. I have to wonder if this hostility is as strong in real life, or is it just easier to voice this kind of opinion on a faceless forum than face to face in civilized society? |
libero00: at long last, a breath of fresh air! it is good to know that it is not all xtians that are completely blinded.I hope there are many who 'see'. We are all in big trouble, if not. ![]() |
Deep Sight: Fair enough, but word of advise: be careful to keep a balanced and inquiring perspective with every idea that confronts you: apply same to religions, and apply same to sciences, and apply same to atheistic notions as well. For otherwise you may liberate yourself from religious dogmatism and find yourself locked in another form of absurd dogmatism. Believe in yourself, you have the faculties you need to figure out your existence and its meaning and purpose. Do not let any one else do your thinking for you. Most of all remember that the failures of religion have nothing to do with the question of whether a God exists and whether such a God has a purpose and meaning for your life. Finally remember that even if you think or conclude that such a God does not exist, you can still look within yourself and bestir your mind and conscience for simple answers to your issues and objectives in this life.Well said. |
GBAM!! Dude! Brace yourself. You're about to have the "time of your life"
Hehehe |

Uyi Iredia: Hmmn. Dats anoda way of seeing it. And I differ for apparent reasons. Basics first.Weather you agree with it or not, Trickle Down Economics works. |
rationalmind: Lol, if you look at the part you made bold on my post very well, I actually said what do not what will. This is my original post. See the bolded. I hope you can see, you do err. I stated now and in the future. texanomaly: Are you serious about the bolded? You need to do a little research before you make such a statement. You fall my hand here RM. That very field will become more and more important. Innovations in these areas are now feeding us and will take on an even bigger roll as the world population increases. This is a topic that should be of the utmost importance in Nigeria given projected population growth.Soil and Crop Science, the study of field crops and soils, is the foundation science underlying the production and management of food, feed, and fiber crops to meet human needs and to protect the environment. The work these scientists do is of great importance worldwide due to the rapidly increasing population, the demand on land for food supplies, and the demand for environmental quality to enhance human comfort and well-being. Special emphasis is placed on improved production efficiency and the conservation of soil, chemicals, energy, and water. The curriculum offers broad-based coverage of the basic natural and social sciences, communication skills and opportunity to explore interests and leadership potential. Six concentrations allow for specialization in the major – agronomic production management; applied information technology; environmental soil science; international soil and crops; plant biotechnology, genetics, and breeding; and soil resources and conservation. However, students do not have to choose a concentration but are given the flexibility to tailor the curriculum to their individual interests. This provides opportunities for students to have a second major in a related discipline. Undergraduate Concentrations. This is what they are presently contributing when properly harnessed. I was correct in my post. I hope you spot where you erred. &%#@$?!! Aarrrrrrrrgh…stup.id Antispambot. I had several links to jobs in Nigeria directly relating to Soil and Crop Science. There were 6 links for Nigerian jobs. Each link was advertising several different jobs in Nigeria . I was even going to throw in a link from the US. I also found several from other countries. I guess they were considered spam. I hope you get my point. The jobs are there. It is an opportunity to make a difference in your community, in your state, in your country, and in the world. These scientist are contributing now in Nigeria, as well as for future generations. Google it. (Soil and Crop Science jobs in Nigeria) |

rationalmind: Lol, no worry ehn. Just stay your texas dey flex. you might just do a little study on unemployment rate in nigeria. Are you serious about the bolded? You need to do a little research before you make such a statement. You fall my hand here RM. That very field will become more and more important. Innovations in these areas are now feeding us and will take on an even bigger roll as the world population increases. ileobatojo: Good for him for rising up against "the man", I suppose. But this cannot be a very convenient lifestyle. I see no real need for it.It is what he has chosen. I don't think its a terrible idea. I simply don't think it is sustainable. If he can get others involved, his lifestyle might have a chance. After all it has been done. If all of society was based on a barter system, maybe. I'm very skeptical though. |
vickyO: The problem is courses like that aren't appreciated in Nigeria.hmmm...Nigerians don't like to eat? ![]() |
rationalmind: Hehehe, in that case, they shouldn't had given me admission at all. I would had appreciated that.yeah...Cuz who needs to eat right? ![]() What do we need the bolded for? Doesn't the food we eat just magically appear at the market? smh |
Atleast they are trying to be individuals and bring about a change. I respect such people.
Thanks for your comment. ![]() |
