Uyi Iredia: I second texanomaly as a mod. I don't think she's partisan going by her actions on the Religion section. And . . . erm . . . I myself wouldn't mind being a mod in the Foreign Affairs childboard.
Thanks
Christianity EtcRe: Dreams And Their Meanings/ Interpretation by texanomaly(f): 3:20am On Dec 09, 2013
I have had dreams about things that later come to fruition, many times in my life.
Some are not always clear at the time, but become clear later. The other night I dreamed I was bitten by a snake. Snakes are in my dreams often, but I have never been bitten till now. I found this online. I was in a conversation, before sleeping that night, that can only be described as the bolded. This weighed heavily on my mind as I went to sleep. What do you think?

Dreaming of being bitten by a snake is one of the most common and striking snake dreams.

While the dreamer is likely to wake up scared or confused about the meaning of such a dream, a general interpretation considers snake bite imagery in dreams as a precious warning or
wake up call regarding your waking life.

A snake biting you symbolically signifies that you need to pay attention to a challenging situation
or emotion that has not yet been completely
acknowledged and dealt with.

The snake bite symbolizes a wake
up call Warning about a situation, activity, behavior or thought that are “poisonous” in your life.

Warning about something that paralyzes your
ability to make a choice in order to take the
next step in your life or a relationship

Resistance to what is perceived as a
“temptation” or a situation that challenges your beliefs or values

PoliticsRe: Are You Interested In Moderating This Section? by texanomaly(f): 11:26pm On Dec 08, 2013
Obinoscopy: Distinguished Nairalander,

Here comes another opportunity to serve as a moderator in Nairaland.

The Politics Section needs Moderators to assist in enforcing the rules of the board and the forum. So,
I am capable of moderating this section. My qualifications are as follows:

Obinoscopy: - Have you read the rules & regulations guiding this forum?
Yes I have. I am fair minded, patient, and I am not quick to anger.

Obinoscopy: - Are you willing to abide and enforce them strictly?
Yes.

Obinoscopy: Are you Passionate about this section (do you post/visit often)?
I do not know a great deal about Nigerian politics. I don’t post much, because of this. I do frequent this section. I am interested in learning more. Global politics interest me, not just my own little corner of the world. Nigerian politics intrigue me.

Obinoscopy: - Do you Spend enough time online daily?
I no longer work two jobs. I am available days now, and my night job affords me more than ample time online.

Obinoscopy: - Are you level-headed and willing to take instructions from the Admin?
I take instruction well, and I can also work well independently.

Obinoscopy: - Can you work together with your co-mods as a team?
I get along well with others. I am a team player. I am also more than capable of being civil, if the situation warrants it.

Obinoscopy: If you answered 'YES' to these questions and you wish to be a part of this team, please say so here.

Thanks.

PS: Please note that it will be a lot easier to make this decision if you keep this thread civil and not derail it. Thank you.
Thank you for your consideration.

Christianity EtcRe: I Have Very Strong Reasons To Believe We Are Not In The Year 2013 AD by texanomaly(f): 10:44pm On Dec 08, 2013
obadiah777: Byzantium empire, persian empire, alexander the greek are all BC . keep in mind i am not disputing that events in history happened. what i am saying is that the AD and BC stamp on it is wrong. an event that say happened in this current time-stamp if it happened in 1980 AD actually happened in 667 AD. like someone like you, lets say you are born in 1980 AD. your actual birth date is 667 AD. wink
OMG! I am soooooo old.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Is Virginity So Important In Abrahamic Religion? by texanomaly(f): 10:01pm On Dec 08, 2013
aManFromMars: Considering that things are only going to get worse according to the Bible, it it futile for Christians to try to make things better? Would they be working against prophecy by doing so?

Or are we hard wired to fight in vain against adversity?
It surprises me that with all the biblical knowledge you atheists have, you can't answer your own questions, and leave us Christians to wonder around in our deluded bliss. grin grin grin
Christianity EtcRe: Why Is Virginity So Important In Abrahamic Religion? by texanomaly(f): 9:29pm On Dec 08, 2013
Joshthefirst: ma'am. Good evening. smiley I was just giving examples, not generalizing.

But how do you know its going to become worse?
LB is going to hate this answer...but the bible says so. Are things not supposed to get worse before the second coming? That is a scary though, considering how bad things are now.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Is Virginity So Important In Abrahamic Religion? by texanomaly(f): 8:47pm On Dec 08, 2013
Logicboy03: ^^
Abeg, Texanomaly, as someone from the USA and a christian, can you lecture Joshthefirst about stereotyping people from the west and gay bashing without evidence?

It is irritating how some grown men just talk nonsense about things they dont know
To be honest, he is right on most counts. We are one screwed up nation. I am proud to be an American. I would not deny it or change my allegiance. I will admit, though, that the FAMILY is in trouble here. It is being threatened daily by the same things Josh mentioned. I fear for this country. I pray daily for our leaders, unfortunately, I know it is going to become worse.

I have heard His voice many times inside my head. (Crazy...I know) That particular instance is the only time the voice came from outside my head. I actually looked around the room, because I was alone.

Mental illness doesnt mean one is crazy.......for instance, people have OCD some people cant miulti-task.....

I had the same affliction you had....believing in stories that you know are false....do you really believe in witches and wizards? Because they are in the bible
I said God has talked to me. What does that have to do with witches and wizards?

Christianity EtcRe: I Will Be An Atheist For Some Hours/Days by texanomaly(f): 12:30pm On Dec 08, 2013
thehomer: I'm trying to take him seriously. I'm an atheist and would happily blaspheme. If he wants to be an atheist, he should be ready to do that too let's say as his sign of seriousness in the role.

If I wanted to pretend to be a Christian, I could also post a prayer accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour and talk about eating his flesh and drinking his blood. But then, I'm not the one on the hot seat.
Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
