Infoseye:I guess by 'laminated' he means he has a screen film on to protect the screen, that explains all the scratches you see in the picture of the front of the phone. Laminated is a funny choice of words though ![]() I agree that the Phone doesn't look that neat, which is unfortunate cos its a white iphone. Black hides stains, scratches and other blemishes better. |
studyineu:I hope YOU know the meaning of the word 'Treason'? All you semi-illiterates will come out and start spouting nonsense here on NL. |
I can understand why 2go is a java app. Afterall, cheap java capable phones vastly outnumber smartphones in Africa. However, there's no reason why these folks can't code a version for iOS and Android that doesn't require crappy java. |
Yagba:May your life and business be handled the way GEJ is handling Boko Haram. |
GEJ rigged ? Keep sinking in your self pity and ignorance there. For the records, we voted him and we still support him and you guys aint doing nuffing about it. He is there till 2015 or even 2019 if he so desires.
Whether or not you voted for him is immaterial. Everyone knows GEJ swept the South East with ease. However, electoral figures that showed that 85% of registered voters in Imo State came out to vote that day for GEJ is clearly fraudulent. Any figure greater than 65% in any state in Nigeria should be treated with skepticism. Not even in GEJ's own Bayelsa state was the 'turnout' (and hence the rigging) that high. |
Aro Okigbo:Says an imbecilic oaf who is hiding in South Africa, far away from the spiraling cost of living |
efisher:Please use your common sense. The guys at the Economist are writing that article based on information gleaned from the Government. Mass opposition to the subsidy removal in Nigeria is due to the fact that the 'subsidy' is perhaps the only benefit millions of taxpaying Nigerians were getting from the Federal Government, and the only think making Nigeria's relatively meagre minimum wage acceptable. Using statistics and words on paper alone to drive decisions alone is foolish. Afterall, logically it would greatly improve the standard of living of Nigerians if we use nerve gas to Kill 110 million people, leaving only 40 million mouths to feed. Does that mean it would be the right decision? Most Nigerians feel that the money 'saved' from discontinuing the subsidy will be wasted as usual. On paper the likes of GEJ and Okonjo Iweala will babble and whine about 'eminent and reputable Nigerians' but Nigerians know that the NDDC was set up with similar promises and was staffed with 'eminent Nigerians'. look what happened! We also know what happened to the $20 billion Excess Crude Account dough shared by GEJ to his Governor buddies for 'infrastructural development'. All that money stolen! Anybody who has faith in this corrupt and kleptocratic PDP Government is a cretin! |
thekrafter:Look at this stupid freeloader. Why do you and your fellow re'tards mouth this same 'for free' mantra? Do you think we do not pay taxes? Dolt! |
crestbiz:I will outlive you, you gutless, spineless cowardly dog. This cretin thinks it is s simple as passing on d increased cost to his customers. Prepare to have everyone else passon that cost to you too. Dont worry, we will fight for the cowards too. |
dmainboss: |
Micuilles:Fuel only used by the rich?! That's news to my barber! |
crestbiz:The words of a gutless coward! Cower under your bed and cling to your money while your betters fight for a better Nigeria. Pray you dont get hit by a stray bullet lest your kinsmen say you died like a dog. |
E nice:How would a protest benefit the rich? |
BlackBaron:You will share your source or I will slay you. |
BlackBaron:Meanwhile iOS users have had SF4 for over a year now ![]() Seriously, how did you get the SF4? I thought it was exclusive to LG phones for 3 months? I just checked an Xda thread where the users were complaining about their inability to download the SD data files |
I'll pick this up. I'll call you today to discuss terms. |
muami:My point is, subsidy or no subsidy, the much touted future where a myriad of private investors are falling over themselves to set up refineries is a lie. Since this has been put forward as a very realistic future which would lead to a reduction in fuel price, I am keen on busting that lying balloon. Forget this talk of private investors, let the Nigerian Government fix the existing refineries and even build a few more! Saudi Aramco puts the cost of constructing a new 400,000 bpd refinery at $6 billion. Ask yourself why the clueless GEJ happily shared out the $20 billion excess crude account to his cronies who frittered it away. |
muami:I'm tired of repeating the point that refineries are typically a low profit margin business. There's a reason why most of the oil companies are selling off most of their refineries. Read this http://www.gtforum.com/gtf/research/2122391/refinery-divestments-story Here's a quote from the article. The IEA stated in its Oil Market Report, released October 12: “In the OECD, refinery consolidation continued apace, with refineries accounting for close to 1mbpd of primary distillation capacity completing or announcing extended shutdowns or refinery sales in September. “Refinery margins deteriorated further last month, and were on average negative for 18 out of the 26 configurations surveyed.” Anyone telling you that there will be a mad rush for private refineries is lying to you. Use your brains! |
Thor:If taxes had been spent on providing basic services for Nigerians, would you have had course to call Nigeria a 'shithole' as you did last year? I doubt you have ever paid taxes to the Nigerian state, so STFU and let those of us who pay taxes complain. |
muami:I thought about posting a long response to show you how brainless your comment was, but that would be humoring an i'diot. Please wait until you gain some common sense before you start having kids, it would be unfortunate if you end up breeding a new generation of m0rons. |
The same Oritsejafor that told his congregation and the world at large that God brought Uduaghan to power and thus any criticism of Uduaghan is like fighting God. He talks as if he can be trusted. This man cannot be trusted. He is a friend to the corrupt elite. |
Beaf:When your master distributed the $20 billion Excess Crude Account money to people who misused it, did you march into the streets? |
Hmm. . my piece is thinking and very much original dude. . . ok i get it u want cheap fuel. . but whats the strategic goal behind that? are u stimulating any productive sector in the country with that cheap fuel? what percentage of Nigerians own cars?1%. . .5%. . why should 5% of the population be subsidized to the tune of N1.3Trillion a yr?. .Thats madness and the worst form of indolence that can only come forth from an unserious nation How about use that 1.3trillion to build nuclear power plants that will last the next 50yrs(Ps a 1,000MW Nuclear plant costs about $4Billion dollars) what r u going to do when our oil runs out in 30yrs and u wake up from your cheap PMS induced stupor to realize that you didn't leave anything productive for your kids to build on?. .u just had cheap fuel that u had been importing for the past 30yrs,but no infrastructure,no production. .just consumption and waste Dude the removal of subsidy will do 2 very important things at once All rent seekers (so called independent marketers), will get out of this game and o look elsewhere to enrich themselves,no more feeding fat on GOVT Therefore only genuine players will be left. Secondly PMS will adjust to its market price(for imported PMS),therefore if say a DANGOTE wants to build a refinery in Nigeria cause he believes he can sell locally refined PMS cheaper than the imported one,he can go to his bankers and they will give him a loan to do so. Again, we need to think more of the future, its not all about now. PS i reside in Lagos, and the cost to fillup my tank will jump from N4000, to N8000. . but perhaps i will be more careful in how i roll and make only necessary trips out More importantly as a rational human living in a market economy,i am adjusting my consumption patterns to reflect the change in price. Thats important for innovation to happen in any market economy. Perhaps i will buy a used chevy volt in 2 yrs. . who knows. .bottom line the oil runs out in 30yrs or less better start the adjustments now, cause it will be more painful later
Very brainless submission. Even if it's only 5% of Nigerians that drive cars, these people pay taxes and the subsidy is (in most cases) the only benefit they get from this corrupt and useless PDP Government. It isn't just cars. What of those who need fuel to run generators? Apart from those who need to run generators for hours just to provide the power that the useless government often fails to provide, folks like the barbers, the hairdressers and tailors will have to increase their prices to offset the increased operating cost. Will the common man not bear the brunt of these increases? You speak of the common man who does not drive a car as if to imply that they were not benefiting from the subsidy. What happens when a man on minimum wage has to pay double to cut his hair, has to pay double for commercial cab fare, has to pay much more for rice, beans, garri etc? What of students? University students living in hostels have to cope with increased transport fare and increased cost of purchase of essential foodstuffs. How does he use his static pocket money to purchase the suddenly more expensive rice, beans and yam? You ask Nigerians to cut corners and manage their consumption. DOes it not strike you as absurd that this same effort is not being asked of our politicians, legislators, etc? While you declare implicit trust in Goodluck and Dangote, does it not srike you as odd that absurd costs are even more prevalent in the 2012 budget? One billion Naira for food, tens of billions of Naira for foreign travel etc. |
bjdon:Is it the same Ngozi Okonjo Iweala that told Nigerians that the subsidy removal was not imminent and consultations were still ongoing? You have so much trust in these lying politicians, it's amusing (and somewhat pathetic) If you really think refineries will be rushed out the door, I am truly sorry for you. There's a reason why the likes of shell, chevron etc are selling off all their refineries. It's a typically low profit margin business. |
In my humble opinion, any politician who uses the following words or phrases should be stoned to death 1) Capable of heating up the polity 2) The handwork of mischievous political detractors who are not happy with the progressive agenda of ______ I think we should also extend our ire to journalists who use words like 'Storm', 'blasts' and 'lamented'. |
@Rudebwoy This is a Dual Sim phone. The specs can allow it run Gingerbreak without too much lag, and most apps and games will work with no issue. For people who want/need a Dual Sim solution, this phone is much more capable than the Galaxy S2. @Topic This is not the world's first dual sim smartphone, not by a long margin. The likes of Motorola, Lenovo and Gigabyte have had smartphones based on Windows Mobile and Android for a while now. |
gsmdealer:Why don't you try converting 199 pounds to Naira and see if if it's less than 40K. |
kokoA:have you ever been to Lagos before? |
Go out on any major road in Lagos. Take a look at all the people being conveyed on Okada. Tens of thousands of them on a daily basis. Now imagine if you ban Okada. All those people will still need to be transported. You're going to now need hundreds (or thousands) more taxis and molues to move these people, adding congestion to an already crippling Lagos traffic. I will not even dwell on the upsurge in crime as the newly unemployed ex-okada riders decide to take matters into their own hands. |
viceb:Can't you read? They are clearly exploring other options. However, that does not deny them their right to complain about it on a public forum. |
Nchara:Are you on crack?! I don't know about you, but I pay taxes faithfully. I have no desire to see my tax money be used to fund people who should have managed their resources better. There is no 'jara' from the Federal Government to the masses. Why should any of the elites be an exception? |
