Orikinla:Clearly your reputation as an intellectual is undeserved. |
maasoap:The first duty of a leader is to ensure his people are adequately taken care of, not to curry or demand the respect of other nations. Onyocha:Were you under a rock when his North Korean troops torpedoed a South Korean vessel, killing tens of soldiers? Were you in a coma during the infrequent border clashes between north and South Korea, invariably sparked by North Korea? Was it 'American propaganda' when the North Korea 'test-fired' a ballistic missile across japanese territory? Is it 'American propaganda' that cellphones are forbidden to most North Korean people? Was the food aid North Korea forced many countries to give them just 'American propaganda'? The man was an evil man whose death makes the world a better place. Feel free to express similar sentiments when Bush dies. No matter if you insist that Bush and Obama are evil, it does not change the fact that this fellow is dead ![]() |

sartorius:What was the officially quoted amount for the cosmetic repairs on the existing road built by Jakande? |
GAR3TH:This does not make sense, sorry. One of the major 'achievements' being touted by the Fashola/Tinubu administration was the massive increase/improvement of the IGR and tax money by aggressive Government driven schemes. So it stands to reason that the bulk of the people living in Lekki pay their taxes. By all means, let LCC put toll gates on the stretch of new road they laid down to recoup their expenses. What people are rightly incensed about is the imposition of tolls on the existing Jakande-built road which was merely rehabilitated. Abeg tell me which level of rehabilitation will lead to an agreement to collect monetary payment from that road for the next 25 years? There are no universities in Lekki, 24 hrs power supply is not the norm there, most roads are bereft of pipe borne water and insecurity is an everyday fact of life. Is Fashola saying that the taxes these people pay cannot cover the few billion naira that was expended to repair the existing road? |
The mistake many of you semi-literate people make is that you think the bill is only about same-sex marriage. You can ban same-sex marriage all you like, the US Govt does not support or recognize it, neither does the UK or 99% of other countries in the world. What Soyinka dislikes (and what Obama, cameron et al are condemning) is the criminalization of the same-sex act in itself to the tune of 14 years in prison. What two consenting adults do in the privacy of their bedroom is nobody's business. The Bible and the Quran also strongly condemns pre-marital sex. I don't see any of you hypocrites calling for imprisonment for fornication. |
Folks, I've got a brand new 16GB Blackberry playbook up for sale at just N60K (priced below market price). Interested buyers, please mail me at Priyeandroid@googlemail.com Thanks |
Ola one:I can't say i blame you, kid. Perhaps those of us who respond to an obvious troll like yourself should shoulder the blame for encouraging your juvenile, brainless and childish drivel. Please run along to mummy and daddy for some more pocket money. The people who fork out 18 - 25% of their salaries know that the State Govt owes them good roads in return. Repairing the existing road should rightly come out of the tax money these fellows pay. |
Ola one:You may find it hard to believe, but many Nigerians pay hefty taxes to the state Government. If you're performing your duty of paying taxes without any complaints, why should the state Government regard fulfilling their own end of the bargain as 'giving people on a platter'? I know small boys like you who subsist on pocket money from your mummy or daddy will not understand. Hopefully, when you grow up you will understand the strong feelings this move is evoking in these Lekki indigenes. |
Beaf:So in summary, what you're saying is that Goodluck Ebele jonathan is too weak to secure our borders? Or he is too weak to curtail or severely reduce smuggling across our borders? Gotcha. |
SNCOQ3: ![]() You ignorant ape! H'omosexuality in nature has been observed in over 1500 animal species http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homosexual_behavior_in_animals |
This fellow smells fishy to me. All Spidey senses are tingling. buyers, proceed with caution. |
bisiaet:See how you typed multiple paragraphs to whine about this issue. Meanwhile you're staring down the reality of paying N140 per litre of fuel next year! H'omosexuals never took a penny from my pocket. The planned removal of fuel subsidy will! Why can't you Nigerians focus on the important things in life? No matter you stance on this issue, there are far more important things to be talking about. At the end of the day, there is little difference between you lot and the empty brained chiefs of long ago who were hoodwinked into handing over their kinsmen as 'slaves' in exchange for glass beads. You people are easily distracted from the important issues at hand! In the face of the looming fuel subsidy removal, Nigerians should be calling up their senators to urge them to oppose this insane move. Only a moronic and imbecilic oaf will be happy that his Senator will spend all his time babbling about the anti same-sex marriage bill when we face far more critical issues now. |
Dudes, these are just phones o! Argue with facts and logic, not with insults. Remember that at the end of the day it's all supposed to be friendly banter ![]() Bottom line is, these are both excellent phones. If i did not have to carry around an accursed Blackberry (for BBM) i'd be rocking a Galaxy S2 + iPhone 4 combo ![]() |
You see the moronic folks we have in power now? We've had the worst ever NECO and WAEC results this year. We have reports of a shocking decline in our tertiary education institutions. Our secondary schools are retrogressing badly. Yet Education is not given any special attention in this year's budget! |
Nchara:So you admit GEJ was lying when he claimed that Boko Haram is fast becoming a non-issue? |
The illiteracy and foolishness on display by Nigerian authorities is sickening to behold. The United States government does NOT recognize gay marriage. They are not asking Nigeria or Nigerians to legalize gay marriage. They are only against criminalizing h'omosexuality. Why then does EVERY government spokesman who responds come out to speak only about gay marriage? Why do they insist on proclaiming that the US is hell bent on institutionalizing gay marriage in Nigeria which is not even legalized in most areas of the US? |
The real problem with Africa is these old, sit-tight leaders that refuse to leave power. The same old men that Zuma rubs shoulders with and shares champagne with at their AU meetings. zuma is as worthless as they come. |
musKeeto:Well, isn't that sad for you that iOS on the 4S runs as smooth (or smoother) than stock Gingerbread on the S2? Apps open almost instantly with no hint of slowdown. Funny you're talking about the S2's speed and it's applications in the camera app. Despite having a lower clock speed in the iPhone 4S, it fires off photos much quicker than the Galaxy S2. See the image below https://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/10/iphone5apple2011liveblogkeynote1456.jpg So if the whole essence is to speed up the UI and stock apps, of what benefit is it to Apple to cram in a 1.2Ghz CPU like the Galaxy S2 when it's 1GHz CPU (underclocked to 800Mhz) in conjunction with iOS 5 delivers better performance than that of its rival? What does it matter if the 4S had 1GB of RAM when it outperforms the S2 with 512MB RAM? It's funny you often speak so dismissively when it comes to the GPU. For many years, PC users benchmarked the power of their machines using Crysis (a game). The most demanding tests of brawn in most modern day smartphones is in rendering complex 3D worlds in demanding games. Here the SGX 543 MP in the iPhone 4S absolutely destroys the GPU in the S2's Exynos. Hell, even the new tegra 3 GPU struggles against the SGX 543MP. In summary, Android needs a fast, dual core processor not to be laggy. iOS is a much better optimized bit of software and it shows. The single core iPhone 4 runs smoother than many Dual core Tegra 2 Android devices at stock conditions. When you consider that the majority of Android owners will not root, will not install custom roms and will not overclock using SETCPU et al, a large proportion of Android owners clutching dual core devices will suffer through real world performances that are not as good as that on the ageing single core iPhone 4, not to talk of the 4S ![]() |
I'm willing to bet that the cost of these 'projects' has been inflated 1000%! |
Litmus:Apart from Al Qaeda, I cannot think of any foreign power that will be interested in another Nigerian civil war. Certainly not the Western powers; they rely on a stable Nigeria for continued supply of oil, largely free from the middle east volatility. They also rely on Nigeria to help police West Africa via ECOMOG and they rely on a strong Nigeria to curb Islamic expansionism. Certainly not the Chinese. They're pretty much getting a good deal out of Nigeria as it is, no reason why a fragmented and volatile Nigeria would be of any immediate benefit to them. The Russians? Nada! nobody wants Nigeria to turn into another Somalia. Except Boko Haram and Al Qaeda. |
Let's be clear on one thing. The US is not demanding (or even asking) that Nigeria legalizes same-sex marriage. not all states in the US even allow same-sex marriages. For the avoidance of any doubt, the US Government does not recognize same sex marriage! Only 6 states recognize same sex marriage in the US. What the US Govt is against is the criminalization of h'omosexuality. Jailing someone for 14 years just because of their se'xual orientation is utterly wrong. |
