There aint no smoke without fire. The sites posting the unverified rumors stated in clear terms their source of information and the need for the upgrade asap.Damn,I can't believe people still use Android 2.xxxxx because of their fear of rooting.
Jelly Bean OS is coming soon, watch out cool
There is no more credible source for information than Google. And Google has said that major revisions of their OS will now come on a yearly cycle.

Simply put, there is no possible way that Google would release 5.0 in the near future when ICS runs on only around 1% of Android devices out there. The backlash from carriers and manufacturers will be immense.

I don't know d OP from anywhere so I am not trying to protect him, ask. Tumababa and he'll tell you whose side I'm on.

I was just having a funtime with the post you quoted, I'm 100% against stolen phone sales and my customers can come here to clarify my stand to you.

I won't joke with things like this next time Sir
Wasn't aware you were joking. Perhaps I need to tune my humor meter a bit. My apologies Sir

Kayavail:
thanks to u all for ur comments. That guy Tumbaba is a funny guy. If I cud say I want to come to ojota from ikorodu, what wud it take him to meet me at a bank? He insisted on hotel or motel where he lodged. I tried uploading pix but it didnt come up. Ask him if he has been demanding receipts of phones he has been buying. Thanks
Tumababa has to know
1) if the Phone was stolen or not
2) If the iPhone 4S is factory unlocked
3) The size of the phone.

Unless it's a factory unlocked phone, 92K is a ripoff. he can easily check the unlock status by removing the passcode lock but that cannot be done in a bank. if you want a public place to meet him, why not at a fast food joint like Tastee Fried Chicken or Sweet Sensation?

What do you really have to lose by removing the passcode lock? You must admit that it sounds very very fishy.

This is not just any allegation. It is an allegation of taking part or conniving in the murder of an innocent man. Also, it is an allegation of a brand of extremism that is close to terrorism. They are not light allegations by any standard and require convincing rebutal, talking about the CBN governor not stooping low to defend his name is at best emotional and at worst a dodge.

This vertion of the rumour is even the saner one, I actually heard right here on NL that Sanusi did the execution. These aren't minor accusations that can be swept under the carpet.
you're becoming quite synonymous with hypocrisy these days.
You complain that jarus is 'attacking the messenger'. Yet these days you're known for dismissing all Sahara Reporters editorials on the First family as 'fabrication' while recycling that same image you've been using to attack SR since early 2011.
You insist now that the burden of proof is with the accused based on the 'gravity of the accusation' and the 'sensitive position the accused occupies'. Yet you fail to take this same position whenever the issue of Dame Patience Jonathan's link to corruption is brought up.

Abeg for the avoidance of any doubt, the burden of proof depends on the accuser. If this blogger cannot prove his allegations, let Sanusi go ahead with his libel suit. Shebi when it gets to the law courts the fellow will be forced to provide his proof?

what if he doesn't even understand the simple english you guys typed here?
what if he has never even synchronize an iphone with itunes on PC?
u guys just dey ask the guy too much questions he no fit answer.

the phone belongs to his friend's senior brother's uncle and he can't call on him to request for the code because of the age difference. when he is old enough to do all these things, he will.
There is no 'simple English' there. The OP shows the guy is literate enough. What sort of excuses are you dreaming up to protect the fellow?
'Passcode locked' phones are 99% of the time a dead ringer for stolen phones. Tumababa is right to be cautious, especially when you pair that up with the fellow's behaviour.

Even in the scenario you painted, an iPhone 4S is a really expensive device. There's no way a 'friend's senior brother's uncle' would just hand over the phone to a third party without enough info or without an adequate line of communication.

At best, by advertising for a 32GB iPhone 4S which may very well be 16GB, the OP is guilty of false advertisement and should rightly be condemned for it.

Neatly put. I however would place greater emphasis on cutting down our population growth. The number of jobs needed to be created annually to keep up with our growth is in the millions, and I frankly do not see that happening anytime soon.

Nigerians just have to try to rein in their reproductive capabilities.
That is a very sound idea. However you'd find many cultural obstacles to implementing any population growth reduction schemes.

Austerity measures have already forced many educated young families to cut back on the number of kids they'd have (in my circles, most people now aspire to 2 or 3 kids max) but in the poverty ridden areas folks there seem to breed like rabbits.

you've seen the massive opposition to any attempt from the FG to put in place any measure to curb child marriages in the North. Expect similar opposition when talks start on population management measures.

oshiomole is not a saint but neither is he a devil, he is only human and as such he is bound to be criticized or praised. i just had a memory flash of his administration and i believe when am done with my little write up you the poster would not be mad when you realize why people are hauling insults at you, in fact you would agree with them, that you are indeed what they say you are.
when he came into office he meet edo state in a state far worst than pathetic, to this end he realized as well as every normal reasoning individual that the state allocation and as well as the internal generated revenue would not be enough to start and finish any project in benin. edo state was faced with massive road decays, erosion and flooding were frequently experienced by the state, illegal taxation, security issues( kidnapping), poor educational facilities, jobless youth, corruption in the entire government sector, and the worst of them all- PDP. having listed the challenges facing the state do you think the government did wrong in borrowing fund for the development of the state. it has overcome the menace of kidnapping that ravished the state, even though late yar adua approved the joint task force to the state but immediately GEJ took office he scrapped it. the state had to purchase vehicles and other things for the police to aid in the struggle, all were frm the state treasury. the lagos benin-oluku-ugbowo road was approved for dualization and expansion by yar adua as the existing ones could no longer cater for the needs of motorist, as well as airport road and other federal government road in benin, was an agreement reached that federal government would rebuild as well as refund the agreed percentage already used to work by the state government. all this were revoked by the GEJ administration when funds have been borrowed and implemented for this projected, there is no local government that the state government is not tarring and rehabilitating roads, all prim. and sec.schools in the state are been rebuilt. illegal taxation has stopped, youth are employed by the government's direct involvement in projects. the erosion mess in benin will soon be a thing of the pass as government is already working on it (even agencies like - world bank, U.S AID, said the state can not manage it alone, and advised a state of emergency be declared). there is presence of government in the state and the man's project are campaigning for him. he raised the internal generated revenue to about 2 billion, he introduce the mass transport scheme to alleviate the sufferings of his people. GRA is a failed master plan and so its case its different, cause they are no drains and people build on the right of way. -PDP put him in debt. yet he is still achieving all around the state.
i like this reply

Bottom line is that Oshiomhole has done far more for Edo State than the pestilential PDP Government of Lucky igbinedion (Curses be Upon Him!). However he isn't perfect and as such constructive criticism should not be shouted down.

Ah, poor little people. You're soooo upset that Sanusi's telling the hard truth you don't want to acknowledge; Nigeria is worsening. What pisses off you little people is that it is the exact opposite of what your wheedling and swindling Pastors feed you in Church, not so?

Plot a graph of Nigeria's progress since 1999 when the PDP took over. On all indices (Education, maternal mortality, infant mortality, corruption, crime, terrorism etc) we are getting worse! All the graphs will show we are retrogressing!

no, i'm not mad at Sanusi at all. I'm mad at you brainless nitwits who still went out en masse to vote in the PDP in 2011 and now in 2012 in the Governorship re-runs. Keep abusing Sanusi as if you doltish sheep are any better.

Can you explain to me how "Would PDP have done any better" is a logical answer to any question on your Governor's performance?

Oshiomhole is far better than Lucky Igbinedion (Curses be Upon Him!) and any other person from the Party of Pestilence (PDP). but it does not mean he is beyond reproach or anything approaching perfection.

You people need to grow up. The 'would Bleep have done better' is not a logical argument.

Let me give you guys something to think about.
How did hiv and aids came about?
Hiv and aids was created by scientist, it is an agenda to depopulate the world from 7billion people to 500million. Those anti-virus companies selling software are the once who actually created the virus, their aim is to get money from you. another example is the movie mission impossible when a scientist created virus and anti-virus, u can tell the rest from that movie if you have watched it.

Have you ever heard of scientist or very wealthy man died of aids? or you think they dont meet women?
Think about it properly, there is something going on that your eye cant see and to deep for you to imagine.

HIV AND AIDS ID AN AGENDA TO DEPOPULATE THE WORLD.
its a fact!

there is no indication that he tried to disarm the bomb so lightly protected. What is seen from the Video is that after his initial scan, he tried to cut away the bag to display the contents. Who knows if he'd have tried to defuse the actual bomb itself.

Either way, he's dead now. May he RIP.

Politics › Re: Is Oshiomole Bankrupting Edo State? by texazzpete(m): 8:07am On Feb 16, 2012
Look, we all agree that Oshiomhole is better than Lucky Igbinedion (Curses be Upon Him!). In the history of Nigeria, Lucky Igbinedion (May He be Accursed Forever!) still remains the worst man ever to Govern a state. That is without question.

However, the OP does make so valid points about the spiraling costs used to upgrade the Airport Road. I cannot say i agree with his inclusion of china (with their dirt cheap labour) as a comparison point but the EU remains a valid point of comparison. Building a road is not rocket science and labour costs (and permits) are much more expensive in the EU than in Nigeria. Also, the terrain in Edo State is not challenging at all.

Shame on the Nigerian Army for hyping such a basic device as an 'innovative invention'. What the hell does 'static and moving' mean sef?

manchy7531:
Innovative, Thanks nnaemeka, this is the first time that i ever heard that Nigerian army invented anything since after the civil war, Thanks to COAS for allowing this young man to complete this feat to the glory of nigerian army, other pin heads would have killed this project with tribalism or quota system, Good things happen when quality and good leaders lead. With quota system, these milestone would not have been achieved. For first time since civil war one heard the word invention in Nigerian Army and it's coming from an Nnaemeka Maduegbunam. It says a lot about Biafrans and I'm proud as always to be Igboman as we make things happen. Haters and envious tribalistic "dead brains" can go to hell and burn!
As the article states, the Nnaemeka fellow is just the leader of the Engineering team. Most likely the fellow had nothing to do with the project's 'invention'. Leaders always get the credit. You'd know this if you'd ever done any work in an organization.
First off, your effort to tribalize this issue shows that you will never see sense in anything thats explained to you. So keep Soludo out of it. Jos has been restive and so many lives were lost, Maiduguri has a very high death record since the Boko Haram mayhem started. Why has your SLS not paid "condolence visit" to any of those states. What has the CBN done to other affected states? Why doing all that now when its happenin in his own state. If you do not know that problem of Nigeria is tribalism and bigotry, which Awo institutionalized in Nigeria politics then you know nothing about Nigeria. What this man did is wrong and should be condemed. If Okonjo Iweala donates 500m to Imo state over the lost of their citizens up there in the North, am sure you will be here crying foul.
Kano State has the highest single day casualty figure of all the Boko Haram onslaughts. For all the persistent killings in places like Maiduguri and Borno, the Kano state carnage struck the loudest chord in the hearts and minds of Nigerians.

This is something even a child should know. Are you just being mischievous?

I expect any sensible Igbo man to ask the likes of Ohanaeze what they have done to back up their calls for Igbos to 'return home'. How many farmlands has Ohanaeze put aside for them? How much money has Ohanaeze raised to help resettle the people they want to relocate?
Why are you people keen on seeing your own folk become penniless refugees in the East?
Politics › Re: Ohanaeze Queries Cbn’s N100m Donation To Boko Haram Victims by texazzpete(m): 6:00pm On Feb 12, 2012
These Ohaneze people are illiterates o!
Let's assume the purported donation really took place. Has any Boko Haram attack taken place in the South East? All the victims of the Kano state attacks (either Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa) are residents of Kano State. Why would money be given to an Imo State Governor for an attack in Kano State?

Why would Ohaneze expect a high profile Government official to tacitly support the relocation of a Nigerian tribe?

It's one thing to query the rationale behind any donation from the CBN but this their objection is totally brainless.

Protip: Don't waste any time setting up your 'Find my iPhone'.

I never bothered doing that before, i'd never really lost any phone before. Until last Saturday when I bought an iPhone 4S, restored it with all my data (3+ years of messages, notes, emails, contacts) and then lost it the very next day.

All my data there, no way to trace it, no way to remotely wipe it. Definitely not an amusing scenario.

I've set it up on my iPhone 4 now (very easy process) and i'd advise anyone who hasn't done so to do that ASAP.
