What's the phone model? 2G or 3G? How did you do the update? |
Isn't it funny how people one minute complain that the MPs are 'stating the obvious' yet still insist that they were 'rubbishing the country'. If it's obvious, how is it a smear job? tombola has consistently and deliberately failed to answer the question: what is false in that report? |
May i pay 50k for this? |
Ushersx:I'M NOT YOUR BUDDY, FRIEND!! Sorry, couldn't resist the South Park reference ![]() |
Ex Inferis:The thing even has my favourite formula (VLOOKUP) and you say make i no use am? lol Ex Inferis:That was my first idevice. AFter spending N22k on a nano, you think i was happy to see that happen? As someone who had in the past fearlessly flashed firmwares, upgraded Xbox and PS2 consoles and done general tinkery i came to the sudden realization that i'm far more comfortable messing around with other people's stuff than my own. That fact was driven home when i was flashing my N140,000 HTC TyTN with an xda-developers cooked ROM and it hung for 20 mins at 95%. I still remember the feeling of cold sweat trickling down my buttcrack ![]() |
What makes you think that way?? If your mate(white lad) calls you a nigga jokingly, will u be offended? What makes the word ok for a black man but it's an offence when a white man uses it in the same context?? Reverse racism!!!!
Better still, we have BET (Black Entertainment TV). If the whites had WET, we'd be offended. We had FUBU (For Us By US). When the hoax rumors came out that Calvin Klein didnt wanna make clothes for blacks, we were offended. Ludacris disses the President, it's entertainment. Eminem releases a video mocking Michael Jackson, it's racism. Plus, he got banned from BET. Reverse racism sucks. Which is why i feel Al Sharpton and Jesse JAckson are full of bullcrap. |
presido1:Well, i know that in the UK no national TV channel will play any song advocating or supporting racism, and obvious racists are treated with derision by society. However in the Nigeria we all come from, songs like 'Maga don Pay', 'Yahoozee' are chart toppers. They exist on youtube and 80% of the comments on them are from Nigerians praising the yahoo yahoo culture. Even a crass song like 'I go chop your dollar' made it to No 1. 419 kingpins are feted and celebrated in style here in this country. So how do you expect outsiders to see our commitment to shaking off our 419 tag? One man made one racist phone call. Very limited sphere of influence. One Nigerian teen sends over 5000 emails daily. At the end of the day, what kinda perception do you think is created? |
Texazzapete compare this with what u hv already seen, this EMU was released march 3rd 09 and it is confirmed o.k online but yr system needs to be of very high specs.
Guy, you irritate me greatly. When you see a version 0.9.6, does it not ring a bell in your head that there have been several previous versions before it? Why does this simple fact escape you?
I have not tested it, but played well with this specs CPU:Intel Quad core Q6600@2.4ghz VGA:Zotac Nvidia 260gtx 216 cores 896mb AMP2! Edition. Memory:4gb Of Ram OS:Windows XP Sp3 32bit Edition(x86) Hard Drive:Samsung HDD 750gb so your spec should be close to this
Stop giving wrong information. System specifications do not have to be close to this. All the PCSX team is a good multicore processor and a moderately to high powerful GPU. Telling people they need a quad core processor and the Nvidia 260gtx is wrong. For an emulator, the HDD size should not matter at all. |
some Nigerian journalists need to be re-trained. The organizers received ONE phone call from ONE man and they are reporting it as 'another case of racial discrimination in the United Kingdom' Come to Nairaland.com and see cases of tribal discrimination here. |
Seun:Which is why i used the word 'alleged' ![]() There's no smoke without fire, though, and it worthwhile to remember that a major player in the Stock Exchange had been indicted and sanctioned by both the SEC and NSE for his role in the saga. |
It is alleged that Dangote had a hand in the deliberate crash of AP shares. Please note that this said crash cost 160,000 shareholders the sum of N240 billion. This sum is far more than what was paid as bribes int he halliburton case, and as reported it affected 160000 nigerians from a myriad of backgrounds. What the hell is wrong with these people who want the EFCC to focus only on the Halliburton case? The bigger crime in this is the AP case. |
@georgecso Your cardinal error is that you assume that as soon as someone isn't under paid employment he MUST default to crime. As someone said recently, those people selling recharge cards and Lacasera, are they not human beings too? No country in the world can eradicate extreme poverty. It's impossble! But condoning crime because of extreme poverty is wrong. Anything that can bring harm to others is WRONG!!! I guess this means you empathize with armed robbers too. |
georgecso:In the last pipeline explosion in lagos there were motorists and commercial bus drivers who parked their vehicles by the side of the road and ran off to fetch free petrol. In most cases the vicinity is controlled by touts that charge some money to allow access to the spill site to fetch fuel. as Oyb said, the major motivational factor for these guys is not despair, but extreme greed. |
Ex Inferis:I was trying to do a simple CellA - Cell B as in, in excel you'd typically put the '=' sign so it know it's a formula, then click on the first cell, enter the operator and then click on the next cell. Seems in Quick office when you select the other cell the 'cursor' leaves the previous one. Not sure if i made any sense, but that's the best way i could explain it. I also tried to do a simple IF statement, was a bit tedious since i had to enter each cell name in the formula. But i can see the potential in the app. Ex Inferis:Not touching that thing again. I tried it on my ipod nano in december 2005, got a bit impatient while it was updating the firmware and pulled out the cable. Next thing the bugger crashed and rebooted with only linuxy text scrolling on the screen. I had to take it back to the shop and lie that it hapened to me just like that. The confused salesman changed it for me. . .that was the end of my ipodlinux experiment ![]() |
Why do you people imagine that EFCC is only capable of doing one thing at a time? The new refrain on Nairaland is to greet anything EFCC does with derision simply because they haven't done some things you expect them to do. mikeansy:The man is being accused of illegal conspiracy to devalue another company. Do you know how many shareholders of AP would have lost money due to his alleged actions? Are you not aware that many delta indigenes feel that Ibori did some good in the state? Does that make him any less corrupt? Is investing money in Nigeria a sure way to absolve one of corruption charges? Is it not the same Dangote whose monopoly of the cement industry is one of the drivers behind the stratospheric prices for cement? I find your quote comment extremely dissapointing for someone who claims to be against corruption. There's also three paragraphs in the OP devoted to the arraignment of people in the power sector alleged to have siphoned over 1.5 billion naira. Pity you guys are too blinded with rage to allow reason to kick in. |
Afaukwu:1. As long as you do not amend the title of your post, Tonim's contribution is in order. 2. Can you explain why exactly this post is in the 'Politics' section of Nairaland? |
This has been out since 2007. Where have you been since? |
georgecso:No. What he's implying is that you made a harebrained statement. India and China have population that easily surpass that of Nigeria. Does that mark them for success in football? Stick to the topic at hand. |
I second the recommendation on the N95 8gb, if only because it's probably the only N-series phone that can run Quake 3 ( 3d GPU, impressive RAM), has a far better build quality than the classic N95. Another cool but useless fact is you can run Windows 95 on it using DosBox. Slow, but works ![]() You may wanna ditch symbian and move in with us iPhone peeps ![]() |
Just grabbed Quickoffice. . .pretty nice app. Still struggling with the excel application, i just need to learn how the formula entry works. With an office editing suite and 3.0 on the way, the iPhone finally seems to be getting feature complete. Not very happy though. Apple just shat all over the OSX netbook rumours yesterday. These guys are just like John McCain; they just don't get it ![]() |
logica:What you're referring to is sharing your PC's internet connection through the USB cable? If that's so, can you share how you made that work? There's a very convoluted tutorial out there, but i can't be arsed to go through all the steps. Or are you referring to normal SSH data transfer through USB? That's what i thought until i saw the refernce to Cyder. Couple of nice new game screenies. Need For Speed Terminator Salvation. Macteejay2:Why is it that you people think that as soon as there's little or no money, the next thing is to default to crime? It is impossible to eradicate poverty; the poor will always be with us. There are paupers in even the most developed country in the world. There should be little sympathy for people who use poverty as an excuse to default into crime, especially crimes that hurt others. Less sympathy should be extended to these people that died in the pipeline fire. Most people in Nigeria have seen images of the roasted victims in Jesse and other pipeline fire disasters, they know that vandalized pipelines are prone to explosion, killing all the people gathered around the site. They knew the risks and they took them. Why then the sob stories here? The Government has spent untold millions of taxpayers' money sensitizing the people against doing such things, yet they persisted. IMHO, those of you arguing the case of this stupid act are every bit as visionless as our so-called 'bad leaders'. |
sherifatou:um. . .if i'm not mistaken, we all belong to the same negroid race ![]() |
georgecso:There's no excuse whatsoever for illegal stealing of petroleum products, especially from vandalized pipelines that historically are apt to explode at any time. Bringing forward poverty as an acceptable rationale for this kind of stupid act makes you part of the people with stagnant and uncreative mindsets in this country. As for your opinion that the youths are needed to change this country, may i remind you that 99.99% of the 419ers, the armed robbers, the millitants, the ritual killers and the kidnappers are youths? |
I'm not convinced this topic belongs in the 'Politics' section. It's a shame this was even posted by a mod. The only reason this could be relevant to the Politics section is if the Prof was actively involved in some form of politics. |
To be honest, i think the OP's 'igbos are the best' agenda is every bit as divisive as other anti- igbo, anti-yoruba or anti-hausa threads. Let's stop this habit of promoting one section or tribe above the other. Focus on just being Nigerian. FYI, i fully expect to get flamed for this comment ![]() |
i read what some of my friends write here and it breaks my heart that we have lost the ability to empathise. that soft spot that makes us human. i read about iragi children who go to refuse dumps looking for what they can rescue for food or sales knowing fully well that there are likely some IEDs there that may end their lives. i saw many families who when their child is ill will take the child to one chemist after another and from one fake nurse to another and finally to church even when a hospital is nearby. . . . no money for hospital fees. . . . . and of course the child usually dies. i saw a man who could not pay I00 naira for a simple blood test, to commence treatment of his child whose illness will not cost anything less than 50,000 naira . i saw a girl, very intelligent geology student sell her body to idiots to get money not even for her school fees but to help out with her family. my loving parents sent me out as a young child to go out and hussle for kerosene with older boys during one of those artificial scarcities created by corruption, in such struggles, in those days, little kids could be harmed, there are usually fights at the gas stations and some vagabonds smoking nearby. . . yet i was sent to do this for my family who had nothing else to do to survive. . . mumsie was very ill and dad was transfered by his company to a far away city. people are suffering immensely. we are lucky. many aren't. yea, some people are stupid, but most are just victims. . . . it is sad . . . . .
Spare us the sob story. All the examples you mentioned, how many of them were engaged in criminal activity? Pipeline vandalism and stealing of petroleum are serious crimes in Nigeria. Even apart from that, have we not seen enough photos of burnt corpses in Nigeria to know that stealing pipeline products is an extremely hazardous act? IS it not selfish to take a risk that can possibly leave your family further bereft of any hope? Empathize my butt. When you open the papers and see photos of Armed robbers pleading poverty and the devil for their actions, do you empathize with them? Perhaps we should extend empathy to all the drug smugglers, armed robbers and even clifford orji. |
PapaBrowne:Anyone pro El-Rufai has to know he's supporting corruption. Please note that anti-EFCC is not the same thing as pro-El Rufai Up until now, no one has been able to answer this question convincingly If El-Rufai was innocent, why did he flee Nigeria? Why avoid clearing his name in court? And please, it's almost impossible for an innocent man with El-Rufai's clout to be 'nailed' in court for a crime he did not commit, especially if he can afford the finest team of lawyers in Nigeria for his defense. Prosecute BOTH ibori and El-Rufai. Why let a crook off the hook simply because you feel there's another bigger crook out there? EFCC can and should multi-task. PS: Funny how those screeching that the EFCC should produce evidence on El-Rufai first can show no evidence to back up their assertion that Ibori is behind Ribadu and El-Rufai's travails. Oya, provide evidence! |
Hopefully these guy will devote more time to fishing out the killers of Christian ministers/clerics in the North any time there's religious disturbance. |
ikeyman00:Perhaps some Yorubas and hausas would toe the same line you've taken and insist that a new onitsha bridge would be wasting 'our hard earned Naira' One man's meat is another man's poison. If this train system is built, will there not be a significant percentage of Igbo travellers using it? Afaukwu:Such a heartwarming display of optimism! ![]() |
Kobojunkie Roads last a long time. So do bridges. I do not understand why you assume all these will 'go to the gutter' as soon as a new administration comes in. Funny enough, why is it that you fail to take this consistent stand when it comes to criticism of your precious Men of God, even when they display some obvious failings? |
