They get money basically from oil bunkering. Do You knw the cost of one AK47 mag(findout on the net)? Its about N350,000, and they have over 200 of such not to talk of other more deadly and sophisticated weapons and boolet, missiles, gunboat, etc.
Please. the AK47 is the cheapest assault rifle to make. You can snag an AK47 in the middle east for $30.
Even at the inflated rate that the armourers sell 'em to Nigerian millitants, it shouldnt cost more than N50000.

malone5923:
The best ps2 emulator is psx2 you can check www.emulatorzone.com but you are just wasting because the emulator only runs at 10fps but you can increase it to 20 or 30 if you are using a radeon or nvidia card like 800xt wich is way more expensive then the ps2 so you see you get better frame rate if you have the ps2 but if you insist on spending money thats your problem and besides you will need a bios(which is illegal but not impossible to get).
But the PS2 isn't portable. . .
Also it has been proven that the emulator is more CPU intensive, so with a fast multicore processor, you can get acceptable FPS with mid range cards like the 6800 or 7800.

@4play
With a population of 150 million and rising, even the small money that trickles down from sales of oil is a boon.

With the bulk of Nigerians reluctant to pay taxes (take a look at the 'Paying Taxes' topic here in the 'Politics' section), where else will we get the money from?

What i might do is to re-upload it to a more forgiving file sharing site than Rapidshare. Rapidshare is crap anyhow.

If i can get a new premium account this week, i'll share with you.

Have you ever seen me ask for money on this forum? free of course!!

I have a RS premium account (shared wih someone else). Not too sure if i could give it out just yet, so the best solution would be to help download and re-upload the stuff for you.

However, if you need consistent RS access, i heard there are sharp Nigerian guys now selling RS premium accounts for about N2000 per month. Not sure on how to contact them, but if that's the path you want to take, let me know and i can make enquiries.

When bayelsa state and Rivers were one state, Port Harcourt was vastly more developed than Yenagoa.
The 'capital city' effect in Nigeria cannot be discounted.

We expect more from the Niger Delta governors because their areas are the one needing development the most.

2. I have great respect for the HND holders in society. Many great people come from polytechnics, and they certainly pick up a lot of practical skills from their studies.

My point has been misconstrued by you as arrogance. ALl i've ever said was that most people complaining now knew aboutt he discrimination then. it stands to reason that they must have had a contingency plan when they started on the journey.

lipuka:
Ilike dating. I enjoy taking a woman out. But there are times when I feel that women take advantage and tax our resources unnecessarily. To begin with, women seem to prefer a man who has plenty of cash. If for some reason, you tell a woman you are broke, chances are she will start dating another man.

There have been occasions when I find myself eating some cheap food, while the qoman I am dating eats the most expensive. She also expects me to buy her clothes, pay the rent. Too bad if I don't have a car. She can't and won't take public transportt, so I must get a taxi.

Is there a woman out there who will do the same for me? We are talking about equality, arent we?
Nice to see you've dated over 3 billion women to come to this conclusion.

because - otherwise - you'd just be a silly guy spouting a stereotypical comment on Nairaland, wouldn't you?

Is it not shocking that a website for a commercial entity doesn't have a 'Contact Us' page?

The physical effects of anger include increased heart rate, blood pressure, and levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline. Some view Anger as part of the fight or flight brain response to the perceived threat of pain.Anger becomes the predominant feeling behaviorally, cognitively and physiologically when a person makes the conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force.

Functionality is far better than Beauty when it comes to web design. i mean, it helps for the site to look good, but not at the expense of professionalism.

Take a look at the Starcomms website for example
http://www.starcomms.com

Very nice looking site, totally useless website. A website that isn't updated, that doesn't carry ANY info on their new offers and services and - the criminal part - there's no single 'Contact US' type page on the site.

Very nice looking, perhaps the most useless website in existence.

How can the source of over 90% of your country's income be a 'curse'?!

There's under-development, true, but we wouldnt have even the small infrastructure we have today without money.

Population of 150 million yet people think the country can be easily sustained on selling cassava et al.

HND holders are human beings too[/quote]Therein lies my problem with all you guys.

Every single thread started by HND holders has soon degenrated into a bash-the -Bsc guys session. i agree you guys have been discriminated against, but is that any reason to have so much bitterness towards people who went to Universities?

A similar thread was started to lament the discrimination of Technicians compared to BEng graduates. Next thing we knew it turned into a 'techincians are far better than Engineers' debate.

The fact that i'm a BEng holder does not automatically make me arrogant or selfish. It was your arrogance, your silly assumptions that brought out the devil in me.
All you could have done was to state what eactly made you choose a Poly over a University. it could have been for a myriad of reasons. All i know is that this discrimination has been on for years and years and people walked into that situation willingly.

Ps: English is our national language.
