joomiegal:She's eaten a whole lot more than 10mil. That's just what she was nailed with |
Infoseye:here's some advice. When you're in a hole, stop digging. retard. |
RedHotChic:Except that people aren't killed for practicing polygamy in the US. |
Why do we take delight in lying to ourselves? the common Nigerian is more often than not a corruption ridden fellow. Right from the people that sell fuel in filling station (tweaked meters, inflated prices) to the landlord that unfairly raises rent, to the policeman that takes bribes, to the motorists that give them. Evil = Evil. so the market woman that uses the underside of a tin to measure a cup of rice for her unsuspecting customer is every bit as corrupt as Obasanjo et al. |
@negro_Ntns Perhaps i've been too defensive. Sorry 4 d harsh words. I've never claimed to be all knowing when it comes to the iPhone. Many other people (esp. logica and naijafan) know just as much as i do, and perhaps even more. Not even in it for the 'respect'. 'respect' doesn't add fuel in my car or generator ![]() Strange enough, i'm hyping the phone here, yet i kind of feel weird when i see the phone everywhere. I got mine September last year so i was one of the early adopters. now they're everywhere ![]() |
Kill someone for being gay? OK! Let's take this moral high ground a step further. Kill all adulterous people! Kill all girls who fail the virginity test! Castrate all men who have had sex before marriage!
it looks like JayFK is another butt pirate or a licking lesbo on nairaland! ![]() To all the gays in the world, sod off u weirdo's!
ono:C'mon! Just because someone doesn't automatically hate Gay people it doesn't make him/her a gay. See what you're doing there? You're so caught up in condemning people who've chosen their sexual orientation to be different from yours, you're now attacking people whose opinions differ from yours. What next? Jews and gypsies? |
Infoseye:Actually you never said that. |
naijafan:yeah. Let's try 2 hook up! Bah. Seems like i'll be clinging to my iPhone for some time to come. Not that bummed about the release date, but why the frag isn't firmware 2.0 and the app store ready yet? Also Jobs didn't talk about whether there'll be trial versions available. |
@naijafan Yeah, it's a bummer as per the front facing camera, but it's possible that could change. AT & T doesn't support video calls so no need for a front facing camera. it's a whole new ball game in Europe, however, so Jobs may do something about that. Don't forget there's a month before release. The $199 price point is awesome. It's coming out in 70 countries, including Senegal and Angola. I'll bet anything that Nigeria is on that list. Imagine an iPhone on sale from MTN at $199 = N26k. That'll be the day. Looks like Apple is serious about cutting out jailbreaking and unlocking. might be a long time before we see any 3G iPhone in Nigeria, especially now you can't get it online. The native games look amazing, wish they had demoed more. but with the NDA over, you'll see lots of devs showing off their wares. All in all $199 for a 3G smartphone Faster browser than competing devices. https://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/06/wwdc-keynote_179.jpg Better battery life (7 hours video!!!! 24 hours audio!!) GPS Man, that's a sold package. |
Since when did Windows XP become 940kb? n00bs. . . |
@logica just mailed u my number. send a txt when you get it, i'm going home. |
@logica Just learnt that mediamonkey supports the iPhone now www.mediamonkey.com and it's free. That should make naijafan happy as a clam ![]() |
What good will a party be when everyone is either 1. showing off his latest app 2. begging someone else for the latest 'trick' 3. Bragging to someone else about their latest 'trick' 4. Showing off their handset 5. telling the next guy how much better THEIR handset is. On a lighter note, if you really believe this is gonna be one tenth as big as facebook (currently 60 million members), perhaps you've already been consuming the party alcohol ![]() |
If you're in lagos, see naijafan or logica for first hand help ![]() |
ow11:Abi! So many other countries have moved on past colonialism. Why are we still stuck in the past? methinks this second-rate poet merely wanted some airtime, and we've given him what he wanted. Gaining fame through infamy seems to be in vogue now. |
landis:um. . .Wyoming, Oklahoma, Missouri et al are all INDIAN NAMES!!! PS: Despite the fact that most of the present day Americans emigrated from great britain, the word 'America' is not of British origin. See any poets making noise about that? Please kindly forward my earlier offer to the 'poet'. There's a lot of work for him to do, the traffic at Rumuobiakani (did i spell it right?!) this morning was terrible. You can also join him since you're apparently lacking in work to do. |
clearly this Odimegwu Onwumere has no work, hence his dabbling into unnecessary debate. We Port Harcourt residents can find work for him directing traffic at Slaughter, Garrison or any where there's a traffic jam. So in his opinion, giving African children 'white man's names' is part of the reason why we're a confused people? PS: Does he know how many streets are named after Patrice Lumumba? Or the university in Russia formerly named after Lumumba? The streets in Western countries named after Nelson Mandela? 'poet' my arse. |
Why the complaints? didn't i say that we were crappy against SA? we let ourselves get carried away with the scoreline against an abysmal side. The problem with Super Eagles is Nigerians who are too eager to embrace mediocrity |
2003 Toyota Camry. Still using it, kinda wish i got an SUV though. . . Never let ANYONE tell you it isn't good to get an SUV for a first car. yep, i was that stoopid. I listened ![]() |
Rich BBJ:1. Sorry, mate, but i've never used SwirlyMMS. In fact, i've never sent a single MMS in my life . You can follow up on the SwirlyMMS issue by checking their website http://www.swirlyspace.com/iphone/apps/mms/ and their official forum http://swirlyspace.com/forum2. You can connect to yahoo Messenger using fring. Add http://fring.com/iphone.xml as an Installer source and you'll see it in your app list. https://www.fring.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/ipode_screen.gif if you don't know how to add sources to Installer, follow this guide http://www.fring.com/iphone/ You can also chat Yahoo Messenger over GPRS or Wifi using www.meebo.com. It's a version of the popular meebo web based messaging site customized for the iphone and it runs very very smoothly https://gizmodo.com/assets/resources/2007/08/meeboiphone3.png 3. To forward SMS, send contacts via SMS etc, install iSMS. Add this source http://iphone.nonsoft.com/repo/ to installer. Then Install iSMS 4. I'll be frank with you. At this point you cannot transfer files out via bluetooth. I can't say i really miss this feature - but you can always use iPhone PC Suite to transfer files to and from my iPhone. Perhaps firmware 2.0 might address this issue, i dunno. Not a big deal for me. |
davidif:Haba, why be so selfish? this guy has given his all to boxing for some time, but recently he hasn't had his heart in it. He's 31 years old and he wants to move on. As he's said, he can't keep putting the happiness of selfish fans over his own happiness. na so una convince Okocha to stay on until Hull finally sack am. Why Nigerians do not leave while the ovation is loudest beats me. |
logica:I'll be in Lagos next weekend. Make we rub mind then!! WWDC on Monday. Can't wait! |
lol@ceejay, you yeye. I laugh so much i nearly lock my jaw. Snoop, big applause for your question. iPhone was designed to cater to people that assume the status of celebrities, the wannabes. It is not even a gadget, iPhone is more of a accessory, something that is part of your sophistication, like wearing a Rolex. We all know Rolex is very expensive but will fail when subjected to certain extremities that you would expect a watch that expensive to endure. Look if you receive an email on iPhone, you cannot forward that email to someone else. You cannot do multimedia messaging. If you receive an embedded image in your email like a jpg or gif, you cannot save it to phone storage. It is cosmetically and aesthetically beautiful but lacks functionality. I am a Blackberry fan for ever,
To summarize this epistle, you cannot afford an iPhone. Despite the increasing availability of iPhones in Nigeria you do not move in social circles with people who own iPhones, hence your lack of any hands-on with the device. Seriously, if you consider an 80k 16gb iPhone (65k 8GB) to be in the 'Rolex' class of expensive items, you need a job pronto. |
Pataki:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brent_Spar Having moored the Brent Spar in Erfjord, Shell commissioned the independent Norwegian consultancy Det Norske Veritas (DNV) to conduct an audit of Spar's contents and investigate Greenpeace's allegations. Greenpeace admitted that its claims that the Spar contained 5500 tonnes of oil were inaccurate and apologized to Shell on September 5. This pre-empted the publication of DNV's report, which endorsed Shell's initial estimates for many pollutants.[5] Greenpeace noted that its opposition to the dumping had never been solely based on the presence or absence of oil, however, and that opposition to the disposal plan was part of a larger campaign opposing the dumping of all waste into the North Sea. Although Shell had carried out an environmental impact assessment in full accordance with existing legislation, and firmly believed that their actions were in the best interests of the environment, they had severely underestimated strength of public opinion. Shell were particularly criticised for having thought of this as a "Scottish", or "UK" problem, and neglecting to think of the impact which it would have on their image in the wider world. The final cost of the Brent Spar operation to Shell was between £60M[10] and £100M, when loss of sales were considered. Although Shell and the offshore industry consider that Brent Spar did not set a precedent for disposal of facilities in the future, signatory nations of the OSPAR conventions have since agreed that oil facilities should be disposed of onshore, so it is difficult to see how this does not set a precedent. Shell claimed that spending such an amount to protect a small area of remote, low resource value, deep sea was pointless and this money could be much more constructively spent. The overestimation of the contents of the Brent Spar damaged the credibility of Greenpeace in their wider campaigns. They were criticised in an editorial column in the scientific journal Nature for their lack of interest in facts The public opinion towards Brent Spar follows the unfounded smear campaign carried out by Greenpeace. Note that GreenPeace later apologized to Shell over the incidence. it's this kind of false horror story that people like you still report as happenings in Nigeria. |
The tragic thing is you all are referring to the Shell of the early 1990s, not the Shell of today. There's only hearsay to back Pataki: Kobojunkie:these Pataki:Can you prove this? mere hearsay. |
5p1naz:At least provide the make of your phone na! What you saw was most likely fifa 08 on Nokia's new Ngage. It's a long way from PS2 graphics, lemme tell ya ![]() |
Modded a couple last year. Haven't touched mine sha. I'm waiting for Xbox Live as soon as i can get a broadband connection. can't risk getting banned |
While we're on the subject of post-civil war thefts, it's also often said that all Igbo land in present-day rivers state were confiscated by the Ikwerres (South South) Stop playing the blame game. |
superman:Because the insinuation that there are far more expats than Nigerians in the E&P business in Nigeria is a blatant lie. |
