Nodogragra4me:
What has dud cheque got to do with the discuss of tstv and broadcast right? It is now obvious that you guys are here for a smear campaign against not just the station but the owners.

For your information, tstv has no newspaper advert let alone one advertising epl. Whatever kind of agreement that made it possible for dstv to air matches and leagues that startimes has exclusive rights to without let or hindrances is same agreement that tstv has pursued and obtained.

We have just the holiday period to wait before someone comes up with a review of the decoder and what is what even though the sassy decoders is meant largely for owners of eateries and other joint who don't necessarily need the Internet aspect of their offering.
1. So a discussion about the past history of the TSTv owner is not allowed in a conversation on TSTv's constant ability to over-promise and under deliver?
Laughable.

2. Who told you of any agreement TSTv has 'pursued and obtained'? Are you a staff of the company? If so, why have you failed to make a full disclosure here?

Additionally, TSTv clearly have no legal agreement, since in their tests last year, they attempted to illegally stream a beIN sports broadcast to their users.

Nigerians are pretty silly folks. Always obsessing over the wrong thing.

Who gives a crap about this porky wench’s backside? I find it far more offensive that policemen that are funded with our tax money can easily be assigned to undeserving ‘celebrities ‘ while multiple communities have little or no police coverage.
Christianity Etc › Re: "Buhari's 2-Day Visit To Lagos A Slap On Nigerian Christians" - Catholic Bishop by texazzpete(m): 9:24am On Apr 02, 2018
I can understand where the Bishop is coming from.

The Good Friday/Easter period is by far the most important in Christianity. People go to Church on Thursday and Friday. Creating significant disruption to movement on a day when people plan to head to their places of worship is just in poor taste.

Additionally, the week leading up to Easter is supposed to be a week of sober reflection leadin up to Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection. Why choose that period to hold a gala with so much pomp and gaiety?

Would it be reasonable to hold public feasts in areas with significant Muslim presence during the height of the Ramadan fast?

Gr8amechi:
Is Nigeria in West Africa or not?? Rights are given based on regions, what you can say is canal+ can only broadcast in French hence if you want to use it it must be in French.
You are sadly mistaken. Rights are not strictly awarded based on region. In fact, on the premier league website, they are VERY clear on the fact that Supersport has exclusive broadcast rights for the EPL in Nigeria.

Check for yourself.

https://www.premierleague.com/broadcast-schedules

That Wikipedia article just grouped the broadcast rights according to region for legibility.

The only exception to this is the FTA rights to show just ONE EPL game per weekend that Kwese TV owns, across 30 African countries.

The likes of CTL and Metro digital in the SS and SE are small fry that DSTV doesn’t really bother fighting. Either that or they’ve reached a settlement with multichoice. Have you ever wondered why not a single one of those cable operators have ever come out with a newspaper or TV advert touting availability of live EPL?

TSTV sealed their own damn coffins when they went to town blabbing about how they’d deliver EPL to Nigerians, something the guy in charge - who was once brought before the EFCC for allegedly using dud Cheques - knew was 100% illegal.

But don’t let us stop you people from your fruitless hope.

BBNaija vs The Labour Room: Who is Who ?

BBNaija returning back two earlier evicted housemates in the house seems like a surprise to the Nigerian audience and to the ones in the Diaspora.

But i always feel so tensed whenever viewers and online commentators say that such have never happened before in any history of a TV show.

But here i am to prove such people wrong.

I was opportuned to be part of the Labour Room National Development Reality TV Show by The Nigeria Rebirth Project - 17th September to 17th November 2017.

During the course of the TV Show, two evicted housemates who represented Cross River and Benue States were eventually returned after weeks of being out of the house after the FCT Representative pressed the RESET BUTTON.

Now, BBNaija is using such a concept to give Nigerians sleepless nights. So what's new about that? Check the videos on Youtube if you care to.

And besides, if i may ask, what is even the objective of this BBNAIJA of a thing?
how does it contribute to the development of the nation?
How will it bring food to the table of a common man in the street?
How does it solve our recurring economic crisis?

I need some answers please.

I vividly recall how i represented my Ekiti State for two months on National TV for this National Development TV programme. It was a think-tank platform for 37 selected youths from each Nigerian States to rub minds together on how to solve the various challenges bedeviling the socio-economic development of their respective states and that of Nigeria at large.

But where are the results and resolutions of such a timely project today. Even if available, will the Federal Government implement some of the viable recommendations and solutions for National Development?

To make it worse, most Southern State Governments gave little or no attention to those youths who represented them on National TV for 2 months.

It is so sad that when it comes to the issues of intellectual abilities that can move the nation forward, we tend to give little attention to such.

It is somewhat boring to the people and also less-prioritized by the Government.

But when it comes to the moment of the show of skin, maximum attentions are given by the people and when it comes to nepotism and favouritism, vested interests are given by the leaders.

What a paradoxical situation.

So can you now see that Nigeria's problem is a resultant effect of diversified contributors. We can't always blame our leaders, we need to start blaming the people for their refusal to take responsibilities.

See, here is the truth of the matter, if Nigeria will ever move forward, the people must be ready to change their attitude. Without that, we are going no where and the Nigerian future is at a brim of collapse if care is not taken.

Atimes, i feel so concerned about our National destiny. Imagine, as narrated by a Lawyer: "a young man opts to marry a young girl, and the girl's father during an introduction asked the guy, "what is your source of income?" and the guy replied: " N-Power ".
I responded: "that is the aftermath of a failed-state".

To worsen the situation of things for the Nigerian Youths, we are in a society whereby people see a Single-guy as being irresponsible. Please, If i may ask, when employable graduates don't have good pay-jobs and good standard of living, how will they settle down at the due time?

In addition, in my oft-repeated concept of National Development: "decades after gaining independence, Nigeria is not boastful of common food independence despite being blessed with arable lands and different cadres of labour force. We still import processed foods for our daily up-keep.
What stops the unemployed youths to engage in corporative farming of some export-oriented agricultural products and also the locally consumable ones? Can you see that the Government and the people both have a crucial role to play in the nation building process?

Back to my main point, i don't just understand why we tend to neglect intellectual initiatives structured towards state-centric development for the entertaining-centric ones. In-short, we are all the instrumentalizer of our obvious level of under-development in Nigeria.

Lastly, imagine Nigerian youths waiting, keeping vigil to see two evicted housemates sneak back into the house around 3am midnight.
OMG!!
I don't believe it!! What a misplaced priority!!

You guys could have spent that precious time to engage in productive research on how to invent a sustainable & eco-friendly energy source for Nigeria or research on how to solve some of our wailing socio-economic challenges.

At this point, it is crystal-clear, that we need a change of attitude for Nigeria's all-round advancement.

By Jawolusi Oluwaseun Solomon
I would not employ the person who wrote thisnonsense up. That person has conclusively proven that they do not have sense.

People want entertainment. BBNaija provides it for many people. The show he's hyping does not.
Entertainment can be monetized and profits for the channel airing it will soar. Let them focus on hyping, marketing and increasing the production values for these other reality shows and I can guarantee the engagement will be way higher.

I'm educated enough to know - unlike you - that the conversation Bill Gates tried to spur was about the FUTURE of Nigeria. And investment in healthcare and education NOW is what can secure our FUTURE growth.

Successive administrations have neglected these vital areas, devoting ever shrinking portions of the budget to these sectors. It seems that by pointing this out, I have provoked a response from a cretinous sycophant like yourself.

Interesting.

I have NEVER seen any positive threads on the front page about doctors. Despite the hundreds of thousands of patients seen and cured by medical doctors, nobody ever comes to post here, on Facebook or on Twitter. This, despite the fact that the average Nigerian doctor is underpaid, overworked and has to contend with extremely threadbare equipment.

When Nigerians are healed, they rather go to church to give testimony or come on Nairaland to attribute everything to 'God' or 'miracles'.

The only time we ever see positive threads about doctors is when they die of Ebola, Lassa fever or are killed in some IDP camp by Boko Haram.

But let anyone hear any third hand story about medical doctor negligence and it hits front page. Tweets begin trending. All this from goats who have never uttered a word to complain or protest the fact that many doctors that see up to 50 patients daily, in hazardous conditions are paid only a pittance monthly.

Take this case, for example. It looks very likely that this was a case where the hospital told the lady that they were not equipped to handle surgeries on the days when their surgeon is not on duty. But somehow, this has been translated to "this hospital does not do emergency surgeries on Tuesdays" and because that is a negative story, it has been swallowed very eagerly by Nigerians.
