Obijulius:But this post makes you look like the zombie in this matter. In most democracies, The powers of a Vice President are limited, and largely based on whatever the President gives him. You think Mike Pence can sway Donald Trump’s mind? Don’t be ignorant. |
PearlStreet:Go and talk to any young parent around you to get the true picture. Molfix diapers are utterly destroying P&G Pampers at retail in Nigeria. Ask any supermarket sales rep you know. While the statement from the P&G team is just legalese and PR speak, I can fully believe that the diaper line is under duress right now. |
lyricalz:Is that what you imagine Computer science graduates do? |
divinelove:The hospital wards are filled with Burn victims, accident victims, snake bites, TB, cholera, severe salmonella infections, broken bones, appendectomy patients, hernia, pneumonia, infant care...heck even the hundreds of thousands of Nigerian women that have difficult pregnancies yearly. But @divinelove from Ikorodu thinks that Malaria and Typhoid are the only health issues most Nigerians will ever face. Laughable. |
I find this thread very funny. It is the vulnerable ones, the ones that cannot afford private medical care and rely on overcrowded, over-stretched public hospitals that are the ones crowing about doctors leaving. People who have sense know enough to worry about the brain drain. When your best, brightest and most experienced doctors leave, and you think the solution is to rotate in a conveyor belt of fresh graduates to replace them...is that not the height of foolishness? I think this stupidity is a Nigerian thing. The "let them go, we have others to replace them" mentality was what we saw happen in our universities where we killed the value proposition of lecturing, ensuring that the best graduates flee from staying back to lecture. In fact, I'm actually joining some of you in says jf "let them go". Because they deserve a better life overseas where they are well paid. And because it is only intense suffering that can make you lot change. So when we have the inevitable crisis in our public health system, those of us that can afford private care will sit on the sidelines and laugh at you. Nonsense. |
merits:You traveled abroad on a visitor Visa and you're comparing yourself with professionals emigrating to work as medical doctors? |
Lol. Nobody will pay 100m for Bale. Nobody |
Greatzeus:How is it a ‘good deed’ to use taxpayer funds to buy a car for a private citizen? |
iamloyalty:Lmao. Your signature says 'slave for Jehovah'. Is insulting your betters part of that job description? |
godliman:Every single one of my posts on Nairaland, Twitter or Facebook that is political leaning comes from the point of view of me being a taxpayer demanding good leadership and good services commensurate with the tax I pay. Every single one. Criticize bad leaders. Commend good leadership. That is the policy. I sincerely sympathize with you for the loss of your sister, but the health sector in Nigeria - while being mismanaged by Buhari - was also terribly mismanaged by the 16 years PDP spent in power. Every single government since 2009 has paid little or no attention to Healthcare. Imagine how it looks to see you sycophantically praise a party that had a hand in the decay of the Healthcare sector that led to your sister's death. We must always push for change for the better. And hold bad leaders accountable. |
godliman:Tragically, instead of you to fight for true change and a revolution in our healthcare system, the vast majority of your posts on NL are the same tiresome APC vs PDP nonsense with you rushing helter-skelter to defend useless politicians on YOUR side. When you people learn to fight as a taxpayer, tht is when we will make progress. |
Paperwhite:Did anyone claim Caucasians are incorruptible? Use sense na. |
omoelerin1:Not just my cousin o. Siblings too ![]() But more importantly, i have a functioning brain. Everything I posted above is sound logic and common sense. Dispute any of it, if you can. |
Babybush:The OP complains about how Nurses requested for bribes to move her appointment. Last i checked, nurses were JOHESU members. |
many Nigerians are the most hopeless people on this planet. Expecting logic defying miracles all the time. There are probably around 2000 doctors employed by lagos State, to serve a population of over 20 million people. That a ratio of 1 doctor to more than 10000 people. The average doctor in a Govt hospital allegedly sees 50+ patients daily. Given these stats, how the heck do you expect to get an immediate appointment to see the overworked, overwhelmed doctor? Nigerians don't like hard work. Tackle your Governments. Make healthcare a MASSIVE issue during elections so that politicians know they'd better focus on it. But they will not. It is easier, afterall, to praise Governors for tarring roads and then blame the doctors that are struggling under the load. My cousin served in one of the South South States as a Medical doctor. He was there when the Governor declared free medical care for rural women and children without making any efforts to hire more doctors. Overnight, the number of patients quadrupled and guess who suffered for it? In Nigeria, if you cannot afford private care, you owe it to yourself to be vocal in demanding for better public healthcare. |
pauljumbo:Why didn’t you read the OP? |
Three recent front page posts All from the same blogger 1960ng. All with the same theme of infection after sex, with the expose on twitter. Where does he get the pictures he uses to make his fake accounts? Is Nairaland aiding this clown to destroy lives, just to drive traffic to his blog? I hope the mods crack down on this before he comes back again with another story of how someone was infected with Gonorrhea. |

TheBulusNotes:Are you always this gullible? Hard not to feel some sympathy for you. Only a matter of time before someone scams you. |
TheBulusNotes:Scam. |
new2012:Now I'm getting upset with you clowns. They have been begging you for ages now. Simply list the projects Fayose has executed on Ekiti. Instead of listing the projects, you people have been throwing up red herrings, casting insults and whining. Nobody is fooled. We all know it is MUCH easier to throw in insults than to actually do the work and list the projects. Kindly list the projects done by Fayose or remain silent. |
If you want a genuine review of any Tecno phone, look for a friend who owns one and try it out. A lot of the Tecno phone reviews posted on Nairaland are either sponsored or made by desperate bloggers eager for freebies from Tecno. |
All this praise for Nigerian youth yet the man's score card when it comes to Education and healthcare was shockingly mediocre. But no surprise seeing the usual sycophants lapping up his empty platitudes. |
Someone posts a story depicting how he used connections to secure a job and is claiming he did not 'have connections'. This naija Sha... |
If the Police asks him to Produce these killers now, he will be crying about persecution. People apparently confessed to be hired killers and yet they were not turned over to the Police? Tales by moonlight. |
kolawoleibukun2:With zero knowledge of these people, you’ve labeled them prostitutes. While you opine about the uncharitable people in Nigeria, please number yourself among them. Because there’s no love in you, only envious judgement. |
Elder001:We know the people that got F9 in WAEC biology. |
The OP clearly has way too much time to waste. Surely there are far better uses of your time than this rambling, meaningless and unrewarding opinion piece? |
NwanyiAwkaetiti:Bayelsa state is owing salaries, has one of the highest youth unemployment rates in naija and has a deficit of Healthcare centres. This type of project that will most certainly be used as a conduit for theft is absolutely useless. |
Yes o, all the people shilling for TSTV seem to have disappeared. To think of the insults these clowns spewed when people that had genuine concerns aired them. |
Desperate Nigerian bloggers spotted posting mundane, everyday events as ‘news’. Can’t wait for when “man slept last night and woke up this morning “ shows up on the front page. |
LogoDWhiz:'tongue' is often used interchangeably with 'language'. Apostles spoke in tongues for the benefit of foreigners in the crowd...many of which understood them. Some of you are so thoroughly brainwashed by crooked Pastors that you deliberately dodge the Bible itself. |
