I flew wit airfrance the other day and dey gave me guguru and epa grin

O'boy forget all these stories we dont have a govt who stands for us, we dont have a national carrier. Other countries proudly fly their national airline to aid their economy, our leaders dont know wht it means to our economy to have a national carrier , these foreign airlines see us as slaves and think we are deserving of whtever mess we receive from them. Even neighbouring African carriers will maltreat Nigerians.

Chei! see all the investment professionals that proped up because of 700k?, there is poverty in my land.
No body could even inform yemibox that 700k investment now pose a big risk on his part or that he should wait to see if govt will bail out the stock market?
This is the time to sit-don-look govt.
Yemibox my advise to you is to keep ur money in GTB or any safe bank for now and earn ur monthly interest while you wait to see what the govt will do as regards the economy. 2days after the govt bails out the stock market then u can invest in it (preferably penny stocks). Mind you penny stocks are equally suicide stocks!
In the meantime join www.stockmarketnigeria.com its a free investment forum for intending stock market investors, there you can read articles about investment and ask question. How many nairalanders have investment in the stock market? probably 5%.

All these hurding policy will only keep pushing the dollar up.
Yaradua bleeped up big time! if he had fought corruption Ibori's money would have cushioned the effect of the economic crisis.

@bandiejay,
Your hair doesnt define you, your character does and they know it at the embassy, the only thing is that they will have less than 5mins to findout ur character which means more attention will be paid to u, like ur docs and wht u do for a living, all that it will become a point of interest for the VO. it will then be upon you to state ur case clearly why u think u are qualified for the visa. u need to have a personal webpage with which u can market urself. If u release atleast a track, create a free page on myspace and youtube, people will begin to know u. Dont wait till u have the money to release a full album. Start marketing ur self today by posting ur songs on youtube.
I wont advise u to dash to the embassy next week, it doesnt work like that with Yankee, u must plan. Start by going thro the US embassy webpage for Nigeria, read it very well, it will give u an insight of wht they expect from u as an applicant.
As per the kind of docs u need, a visiting docs will be ok as long u are  invited by a friend or relative who has an impeccable record! The Invitation letter should state that he/she would be responsible for ur walfare and ensure he earns above the stipulated income required for him/her to invited u. Such income depends on the state where he resides and size of the family if any that he/she is presently responsible for in America. Also ask your sponsorer to notarized the letter! that gives the invitation letter a legal backing.
Travel / Re: Across the sahara on foot to Europe via Libya ( Paperback ) ISBN # 9781478329206 by Thadude(m): 6:40pm On Feb 14, 2009
@ bandiejay,
Good thinking to try once again you have nothing to loose!
Make sure all your docs are complete, arrange them in an orderly manner when u go to the embassy so that you dont fumble to find a certain document when requested, the officers dislike clumsiness cos they know alot of applicants are waiting so if u make ur self interesting with ur organizational skills they will give the the time to help them make a decision on ur application. Only give out requested docs to the officer, but hold all docs that might be related to ur case! Once in front of the visa officer make sure you maintain constant eye contact with the visa officer (I mean eye-ball to eye-ball without blinking).
The only time ur eyes should be away from the officer is when ur a bringing out a requested document from ur file but even after that, return ur eyes to the eye ball position. You know they dont confirm docs they tell if ur telling the truthful by ur eyes and how u answer their question. Pratice with the eye contact at home with ur girl friend brother or relative and observe urself in the mirror on how u can keep ur eye-ball fixed without blinking ur eye lids.
Whtever question that comes ur way be as precise and truthful as u can. Show extreme calm and control ur emotions! no unnecessary smiling or frowning, even when the officer smiles at u remain calm and confident. If u are using the same name u wanna be as truthful as u can on ur application. Spend atleast 3-days reading through ur filled application. Its usually better to read it as a bible every morning when u wake up, cos at that time ur brain in very relaxed and fresh, which can help u see what ever error u might have made in the application that wasnt known to u while filling it. For every line u fill in the application form anticipate a likely question and provide an answer.
Remember! your interview will be based on how u fill your  application. Be precise with ur purpose of vist!, if for example u are applying for a visit visa(holiday), dont include any intention to work or study its a trap included in the application form to help the officers know the true intention of every applicant! Phatom a way to show a strong family ties in Nigeria, which might include a evidence of a good job, stock investment, property, marriage plus a child, marriage without a child is no longer seen as evidence of strong family ties. If u indicate ur are married in ur application remember to put on a wedding ring in the appropriate finger, it will be observed by the visa officer while taking ur finger print without ur knowledge.
Dont use an inflated account!! even if u have N1million in ur account, its ok to go for a vacation as long as u application says u're employed.
They know what it takes to have multiple million in ones account and they arent usually fooled by those who present poped up account. When the visa officer looks at ur application observe his/her eye brows/frown/gestures and anticipate his/her intention, it will help ur mind to be prepared for the next question before it props up.
When ask about where u are going dont mention the USA or the state in America be precise about the actual location i.e the name of the town where u will be residing, it gives them a sense that u are prepared and know where u are going.
for example Allen - Ikeja, Allen is where ur hotel is located, Ikeja is the name of the town or city and lagos the state. With these in mind it is still no guarantee, but it helps to know u are as prepared as u possibly can, then leave the rest to GOD.

*Did i hear u say there is too much involved for a 5mins interview? Yup!, u're right but it will be worth it if u are granted the visa. It is the first stressful step towards becoming an Americana. Never mind the employment authorization issue and all that? it will gradually sort its self out when u get here. Plus u will have d opportunity to use the laws of the system to fight the system even if it be thro' asylum. One secret however is that u must stay out of the trouble of the law if u hope to achieve ur dream in Yankee.
Under the table jobs (employment without authorization to work) might come to u if u re known in ur community as a good person.

@Bandiejay,
I dont mean to disappoint you, but ask the guy in America when he used the mexican route??, also find out if it was the mexican drug tunnel he used? which is presently non existing as at today.
It is virtually impossible for scale thro' the borders cos of the deployment of UAVs.
This UAVs have the ability to see even a rat in the desert crossing the boarder post from 40,000ft. because of IR which only picks on heat. For you to be successful and beat the UAV you will have to figure out away to stop your body from generating heat and cover your selves with tree leaves and then move in a pattern in which case you will take a step every 20mins when the winds blows, from the UAV u would be seen as a standing tree! which is virtually impossible because the human body constantly generates heat. Even the mexicans have tried different means including rapping themselves up completely in black plastic bag to beat the UAV but it still picks them up and they get arrested instantly cos information about d migrants are relayed from the control room to the officers on ground who are usually within reach. The UAV is a special unmaned aircraft that the US use in covert operation. The easiest point of entry was Arizona that was before the deployment of UAV not now. When ur caught, its an automatic 10yrs band after processing and hold up at d camp, but the truth is that 10yrs band for illegal entry is life band at any US embassy.
I'm a fan of urs and i admire ur relentless efforts of survival while dignifying urself. Your description of life experience in europe was touching it shows even after all u went through u were still able to differentiate good from evil and make good judgement. Cos' life is all about judgement.
People like u would always get lucky at the American embassy, so i would advise u, if u havent tried before to give it a try! before u move to mexico.

Goodluck.

We are to blame ourselves, for ever taking this govt seriously or believing what ever its officials say. It took Soludo 5weeks to finally tell Nigerians the truth about the down trend of the naira while giving us fake hopes. If he had shame we should have resigned. Yaradua came and killed the anticorruption war. Stolen monies from the whole govt officials in OBJ administration is enough to see us progress through this crisis.

They got what they deserve leaving the known for the unknown. The money they paid to cross the sea would have started a life for them in Africa. Alot of these guys have no skill or training that would match up with the standard of their new found land, even in general labour standard, they still have to be trained, so they dont become victims of the factories. Only the smarter once will step up, the other would have to buy time and hope on luck. Life is hard every where in the world, the days of stumbling into riches are long gone, one has to be prepared to work up the ladder, knowing it might take time but one will definitely get there, while having it in mind that crime doesnt pay but brings disgrace, disappoint and possibly deportation,

I cant remember the names of farms where we bought it back then its been almost 9yrs now, we bought our first day old in ogun state not sure if it was OBJ farms or not, right now there are so many farms in lagos. U might not be able to secure refund/replacement guarantee on a month old, because of wht they might have spent on feeding but try to strike any sort of leverage deal! also, better start with cockrel to enable u learn as u go. Consider the time of the year before purchasing, your target should be easter or christmas for maximum profitability, my bro has records of everything, including hatchery farms. Some of them will tell u the birds have been vacinated against diseases dont take their words seriously as u already know Nigeria is the capital of cut-corners or as we use to say back in school wuruwuru to the answer, lol, let them put it on pen,paper and sign, so u can hold their neck if it turn out to be false there is alot of paperwork. Dont be carried away by their advice and niceness u have a duty to protect your investment. No pen and paper agreement no deal, they should be able to back their words if it isnt solely for marketing purpose.
Business / Re: Any Ideas On Rearing Of Chickens? by Thadude(m): 6:20pm On Feb 02, 2009
@Olalekan1,
Thanks for ur comments. its a sweet bitter business depending on the way u handle it.
Some left over informations.
Plan for waste management well. The bird waste are usually bought by farmers, u have to make arrangement well before time. Back then we sold at N100 per sac with a quantity of up to 30 sacs at times, Waste management is good to prevent infections by tiny insect that arent visible to the eyes and keep the place well ventilated. Once u inform the farmers they will always come to the poultry with a truck to pick them, but it is ur duty to sac them ready. There is work to do, so ensure u employ atleast a hand when the bird is 2weeks old because u must keep to a specific feeding cycle at a specific time 3-5mins lateness can make ur birds punish u if they are layers by deciding not to lay for 2-3days for which u would be feeding them and loosing thousand of income u would have made from egg sales. You arent immune from sickness cos it can be very toxic in there. ensure u have face mask and safety glass to help during inhaling and prevent sawdust particles from entering ur eyes or that of ur workers, especially when d bird flip their wings and take vitamins after the day's job advice ur workers to do same. You should also plan for sanitation say every 6 weeks u must clear, scrub and detoxicfy the place with disinfectant. Ensure there are no holes to the enviroment and most of all watch out for flying birds so that they dont infect ur ground birds, they can do this by dropping their left over feeds from the air for ur birds, it personally happened to me cos, sometime u have to take the birds out for exercise. The total enviroment of the poultry must be cage tight with poultry net and always work ur way thro to see if there is any brokage cause by lizards or leakage if there is u must fix it immediately, observe the environmental temperature, and provide the birds with ice or block water at noon, lol that will help reduce the heat tht goes into their body, u might wanna insulate the inner roof of the poultry with cartoons that will help reduce heat from the zinc. Learn the body language of the birds as fast as u can, yes, they have body and sound languages, u can do this by constant observation. Apply the quarantine and kill principle. which mean if u observed a sick bird isolate the bird by seperation and render medication if u arent satisfied kill the bird immediately. Its better to loose one than loose all. If it gets better let it remain under quarantine for a while before u sell if old enough to be sold. Plan ur marketing well ahead of time, your neighbours, restaurants and hotels around will be very much interested so dont wait, ur marketing should begin when they are at least 3weeks/month old. Remember the faster u sell the easier burden of feeding becomes, because the major battle will be between ur profit and the burden of feeding.

Business / Re: Any Ideas On Rearing Of Chickens? by Thadude(m): 9:05pm On Feb 01, 2009
I have some experience. I invested in poultry in 2001 tho!, i was on and off the country i was able to monitor it wit my bro. I did it in lagos. At the time i started with 1000 birds (layers), it was a good venture. Alot has to the with the day old, if they are from healthy bird u will smile to the bank, if not u will cry.
1.First advise make sure u own the property, in my case it was our personal property, if not the owner of the property will get jealous when u start smiling to the bank, or when buyers queen up to get ur product.
2. Ensure u have an expandable space as they grow older expansion will reduce stress.
3. Visit a poultry to have an over view.
4. Plan for your profits as well as losses.
5. Make arrangement to manually produce and mix the feeds, it will be cost effective compared to buying already made and help u save alot.
6. Better if u're mobile to move the produce.
7. Never sell on credit, even tho!, even if ur best customer who is always cashing u for yrs comes with an excuse.
8. if u're going to buy the bird buy with guarrantee so that if the birds starts dieing due to the breed ur stock will be reinbursed or funds refunded. Honest firms will oblige u.
9. Have it in mind that feeding of the birds is where the fustration comes from so be well prepared ahead so u dont go begging for money to feed them.
10. Cockrels are actually better to start off with if u re not sure of ur funds. Cos u can manover cockrel and even feed them with red oil mix with their feed to boost their weight towards sales seasons.
11. No manuvering on layers they can make u loose money if they are angry with u by not laying for some few days even after u feed them, so u might wanna pet them very well and give them stress free drug regularly.
12. Serious prayer.
13. Read and study on paper or online before u begin.
14. Keep inventory of day to dat activities.
I stoped it cos, our famous customer bought large quantities of eggs on credit  and we never saw him again till date, tht actually killed the spirit in me coupled with my not being around to monitor things myself.
I have all the details not based on text book, but on practical to day to day experience also feed formulars and medicals including injection timings etc.

If u're are interested and in lagos i will send u a number to contact my bro.

@Aro 8
Where were u when naira was stronger than the dollar?,  back in the 80s when it was N5-$1 there wasnt internet to my understanding and we werent battering our country as u stated, rather we were naive had faith and had immaginery dreams. Yet the naira dropped like a dead body.
Right now technology has given us the opportunity to debate the exchange rate and decide which side of the coin we wanna be, be it dollar or naira. In Russian today, ordinary Russians store their currency in dollars, pounds and euros because they dont wanna wake up one morning and loose all their hard earn money, it has happened to them in the past and they know how it feels. Wht is wrong if we do same in Nigeria?, the leaders who lead us store their funds in hard currency oversea, how will my N1.00 solve Nigeria's financial problem?,
Revolution does start by sit-don-look attitude, it starts by looking ur self in d mirror and telling urself the truth no matter how degrading it might be. Ego better is wishful speaking and has never nor will it ever solve naija's problem, especially when u have leaders who cant speak the truth, soludo has never told us our true financial situation in naija, if it were in some countries in the west he would have resigned, but no, he comes on smart-speaking.
Business / Re: Naira Vs Dollar: The Crash Of A Pampered Currency? by Thadude(m): 10:35pm On Jan 29, 2009
The strength of the naira is artificial, i predict the naira will be weaker. Besides i learnt most banks are now paying western union in naira equivalent using + - CBN exchange rate. That isnt a good sign for the naira at all it only goes to show the demand for dollar is growing. And that the banks can meet up wit it.

I have been having this heated discussion with my white female friends at work. I have always thot it was wrong for the founding fathers of America to have named the Presidential mansion "The white house" taking into consideration that america is a country of all races and all nations on earth. Most especially knowing that the white house itself was built by slaves. My question is should Obama change the white house to black house??, Although during a visit by neighbors (ordinary everyday people), Obama taged it as the "Peoples House". what do u guys think?

When u said u dont have to speak a language before using a foreign passport u're right!, u dont have to speak the language if u obtained the passport legally, via mariage or citizenship award for bravery.
Because even when suspected documentary will prove u legally obtained it.

I wont exchange violent words with u, cos' u aint worth it! u definitely have a boastful shallow mind. That was why u left Nigeria for Senegal in the first place. I'm not in the school of those who believe nothing good can come out of Nigeria. You think u are better than every other nigerian at home cos u re in dakar, boowoo man u lied because u re blind. I wont come here and start flashing location with u, neither will i flash numbers because i'm neither displaced nor looking. People like u who are displaced and looking always want attention and i have none to give out to u.
I wanted u to prove urself but obviously i lost ur cards. All thesame this is good for Chi-nne she can now know what kind of a man u are and triangulate what ur true intentions were. I have achieved my aim of using u to expose ur intentions. If i saved one Nigerian from ur grip i'm happy doin it.

Real men are not known by their foolish path but by bravery.
If taking a path that could possibly lead to death, humilation, criminal intensity, destitution and abuse is ur definition of a man, then i'll rather be a woman in ur text book with out allowing u to take advantage of my femininity. It is people like u who think the bigger the muscle u have as a man the better ur chances of succeeding in life, i believe in pure unfiltered intelligence and the equip of knowledge.
