Key Points HIV is the virus that causes HIV infection. AIDS is the most advanced stage of HIV infection. HIV is spread through contact with the blood, semen, pre-seminal fluid, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, or breast milk of a person infected with HIV. In the United States, HIV is spread mainly by having anal or vaginal sex or sharing drug injection equipment with a person infected with HIV. The use of HIV medicines to treat HIV infection is called antiretroviral therapy (ART). ART involves taking a combination of HIV medicines (called an HIV regimen) every day. ART can’t cure HIV infection, but it can help people infected with HIV live longer, healthier lives. HIV medicines can also reduce the risk of transmission of HIV. What is HIV/AIDS? HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus, which is the virus that causes HIV infection. The abbreviation “HIV” can refer to the virus or to HIV infection. AIDS stands for acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. AIDS is the most advanced stage of HIV infection. HIV attacks and destroys the infection- fighting CD4 cells of the immune system. Loss of CD4 cells makes it difficult for the body to fight infections and certain cancers. Without treatment, HIV can gradually destroy the immune system and advance to AIDS. How is HIV spread? HIV is spread through contact with certain body fluids from a person infected with HIV. These body fluids include: Blood Semen Pre-seminal fluid Vaginal fluids Rectal fluids Breast milk The spread of HIV from person to person is called HIV transmission. The spread of HIV from an HIV-infected woman to her child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding is called mother-to-child transmission of HIV. In the United States, HIV is spread mainly by having sex with or sharing drug injection equipment with someone who is infected with HIV. To reduce your risk of HIV infection, use condoms correctly and consistently during sex, limit your number of sexual partners, and never share drug injection equipment. Mother-to-child transmission is the most common way that children become infected with HIV. HIV medicines, given to HIV- infected women during pregnancy and childbirth and to their babies after birth, reduce the risk of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. You can’t get HIV by shaking hands or hugging a person infected with HIV. You also can’t get HIV from contact with objects such as dishes, toilet seats, or doorknobs used by a person with HIV. What is the treatment for HIV? The use of HIV medicines to treat HIV infection is called antiretroviral therapy (ART). ART involves taking a combination of HIV medicines (called an HIV regimen) every day. (HIV medicines are often called antiretrovirals or ARVs.) ART prevents HIV from multiplying and reduces the level of HIV in the body. Having less HIV in the body protects the immune system and prevents HIV infection from advancing to AIDS. ART can’t cure HIV, but it can help people infected with HIV live longer, healthier lives. ART also reduces the risk of HIV transmission. What are the symptoms of HIV/AIDS? Soon after infection with HIV, some people have flu-like symptoms, such as fever, headache, or rash. The symptoms may come and go for a month or two after infection. After this earliest stage of HIV infection, HIV continues to multiply but at very low levels. More severe symptoms of HIV infection, such as chronic diarrhea, rapid weight loss, and other signs of opportunistic infections, generally don’t appear for many years. (Opportunistic infections are infections and infection-related cancers that occur more frequently or are more severe in people with weakened immune systems than in people with healthy immune systems.) Without treatment, HIV can advance to AIDS. The time it takes for HIV to advance to AIDS varies, but it can take 10 years or more. HIV transmission is possible at any stage of HIV infection—even if an HIV-infected person has no symptoms of HIV. How is AIDS diagnosed? The following criteria are used to determine if a person infected with HIV has AIDS: The person’s immune system is severely damaged as indicated by a CD4 count of less than 200 cells/mm3. A CD4 count measures the number of CD4 cells in a sample of blood. The CD4 count of a healthy person ranges from 500 to 1,600 cells/mm3. AND/OR The person has one or more opportunistic infections.

"Rather than engage credible Nigerians to help in the revive of the ailing economy, what we have seen from the APC Presidency is appointment of their cronies and political robbers as well as harassment of perceived political opponents with anti corruption agencies and men of the Department of State Security."

He said it was not in the interest of the President for his aides to take on Governor Fayose, adding that; "leaving issues and attacking Fayose is like hitting ones head on the rock."

lol, I actually studied Archaeology in UI, and you can decide to combine Archaeology with geology/geography for science and history / religious studies for arts. UNN still has a strong Archaeology department, some of our lecturers go there for sabbatical leave, I've been there, they have been here too. I'm talking about first hand experience (participant observation in archeology and Anthropology).
I was answering your question with subtle sign, here is the full gist.

Emenahagos02:
THE Presidency has insisted that despite the misgivings expressed by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) about President Muhammadu Buhari’s discussions about the state of the nation’s economy, the President would continue to disclose the true state of the economy.
The Presidency’s traction was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, which said that the comment by the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, by the President’s statements about the state of the Nigerian was “de-marketing” the economy of Nigeria, saying, Buhari’s comments was in true to his personal attributes of honesty and sincerity of purpose.

According to the statement: “Our attention has been drawn to the latest statement by the PDP spokesman, Olisa Metuh alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari is “de-marketing Nigeria.  We restate for the umpteenth time to Mr. Metuh and his ilk that their attempts to distract President Buhari from the job he has been elected to do will fail.

“President Buhari will remain true to the virtues of honesty, integrity, sincerity, incorruptibility and plain-speaking which endeared him to Nigerians and made them prefer his leadership than of a lying and deceptive PDP administration.

“The President will not, in the guise of “marketing” the country, refrain from telling Nigerians and the world the emerging truths about the abject state in which years of plundering by a PDP leadership has left the Nigerian treasury and economy.

Nigeria University Facts.
This post brings to you facts about universities in Nigeria. Some of these facts are actually obsure.
1. Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) was designed by an Isreali architect Arieh Sharon. He designed many buildings in
Isreal. He was a foremost architect who won the Isreali Prize for Architecture in 1962.
2. Federal University of Technology Yola (FUTY)
has been renamed Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH). Modibbo Adama was the founder of Fombina Kingdom (Adamawa Emirate Council).
3. Tafawa Balewa University (in Bauchi, Bauchi State) actually belongs in the ‘university of
technology’ category. Many prospective university students are not aware of this fact because it has no ‘technology’ in its
nomenclature.
4. The only university in Nigeria that offers a program in metereology is Federal
University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State. Though, Enugu State University
of Science and Technology (ESUSTECH), Enugu State offers a program in geography
and metereology.
5. University of Benin (UNIBEN) was actually a state university. In 1975, it became a federal
university at the request of the state.
6. Nigeria has 3 federal universities of
agriculture:
a) Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi,
Benue State
b) University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun
State
c) Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,
Umudike, Umuahia, Abia State.
7. The 9 new federal Universities established by President Goodluck Jonathan are:
Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State.
Federal University, Dutsin-ma, Katsina
State.
Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa

Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti
State.
Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State.
Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State.
8. Grace Alele-Williams was Nigeria’s first
female vice-chancellor. She was vice-
chancellor of UNIBEN from 1985-1991. She
got her doctorate in Mathematics Education
from the University of Chicago in 1963. The
present vice-chancellor of University of Uyo
(UNIYO) Prof. (Mrs) Comfort Memfin Ekpo is a

9. Federal universities with no catchment areas
are the 3 federal agriculture universities
listed above, University of Abuja (UNIABUJA),

10. The only university that offers a program in

universities than state universities (24 state
unis and 40 private unis). It should be noted
that these numbers are ever changing.
12. Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)
is usually referred to as the only university of
education in Nigeria. This is wrong. There is
another one called Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port-

TASUED was established in 2005 while IAUE
came into existence in 2009.
