Congrats smiley

In Ghana they don't send AM mail, they call you to submit your travel insurance and flight reservation. Then they give you a date to pick up your passport with the Visa

I understand how you are feeling. Maybe you should mail alien office in Siegen or check if you can call them...It's frustrating waiting for A.M mail after sending DB confirmation for weeks.

Thanks. Will the embassy know I've sent them (alien office) the mail?

Anyone going to Siegen who has gotten the Visa?

Why do people call it the 'AM Mail'? Is it because it comes early Morning?

Travel / Why I Never Considered To School In The UK by thatafricanchic: 1:35pm On Sep 02, 2016
During my search for a country to study, I considered so many factors. But for some reason I never ever considered schooling in the UK. The UK is actually a very popular destination for a lot of International Students but it never caught my fancy.

Every time I visit blogs, I am sure to see an advert from a UK school however it still did not make me consider them.

Notwithstanding, I am sure the UK is a fantastic place to study; high quality education, diverse population and of course their language is English.

Here are the top 3 reasons the UK was not part of my choice.

High Tuition: The main reason I didn't consider the UK as a destination was because of the really high tuition fees. A year's tuition could cost nothing less than 12,000 pounds. Mind you that does not include your living expenses calculated at about 1000 pounds a month.

One year Masters: I truly want to be a Master in the field I want to study. And I just don't believe that a Masters course cramped into a year is enough. My preference therefore was for a 2 year Master program. UK schools usually offers 1 year courses so that was not an option for me.

Student Visa Rules:
When you school in the UK, you are not allowed to stay after your studies to maybe job search. You are expected to leave the country immediately after your studies. Imagine spending tens of thousands of pounds on your education with no immediate returns. Especially if the job market situation in your country is gloomy.

So these are the main reasons I never considered schooling in the UK. I am sure that it may be the best choice for some other students. It all depends in your circumstances, really.

About Me: I am currently applying for my German Student Visa. It was a big dream of mine to school abroad and it looks like it will come to pass. I am documenting my journey at www.lifeofanafricanstudentabroad.blogpspot.com . All the stress, the highs and lows, looking for a scholarship etc. You can visit anytime, Im sure you will learn a thing or two

Hello all,

I know this might have been addressed in previous post but i have not been able to locate it.

I will be glad to have answers to the following questions that has been bothering me.

Can i use a sponsors account for the blocked account?
After the account has been unblocked, can i transfer the money from the Deutsche Bank to a Nigerian bank account?
How long will the account be blocked?

I will really appreciate your responses to these questions as i am planning to apply for april intake of TUM.

You can't unblock the account. The amount is blocked for a year with partial installments of 720 Euros.

You can only unblock with permission from the alien office and that is usually when your Visa has not been granted or you do not want to go to Germany anymore
I used my parents account as my sponsor to open the blocked account. But due to time wasting, I have been able to get someone to make payment into the account for me from Germany. Pls my question is, will such transaction be rejected by the bank or must I make payment through the account I submitted with? Note, I have gone for the interview on 23rd and got a mail yesterday requesting I forward my block account details and affidavit of my age.[/quote
I'm not sure what will happen because DB Facebook page said you can only use the account you specified on the form. Alternatively if there has been a change in account you need to write them a letter with the new account and bank statement.
You can wait for a while for the notification. Then use contact forms. Mind you this can take you back by 2 weeks, because it takes a while for them to answer the contact form.

Or you can send them the letter stating that you have changed the bank account. Don't forget to include the new bank account with this mail

I greet the whole house... I'm aware that this question might have been answered in the past, but I'll appreciate it if it's answered nonetheless..
Will my visa application be considered if I get a cover letter from a company in Nigeria claiming to be my sponsor?.... thank you

In that case you still have to open the block account since they are just acting as your sponsor

Please can you provide me with the email of the programme coordinator? She has emailed the addresses you gave but they didn't respond. All they keep telling her is they are not in charge of the admission and her file is not with them.

Please can we create a separate thread for the German Sweden argument? It is derailing from the main purpose of this thread.

Guys..is it possible for some one to travel through the Germany border without holding any Euro..my friend intend to change it at the airport when she get to germany..this is because she cannot afford to buy the euro from the black market at N455 per euro as at today...will they allow her pass the border..if she present her statement of account and her MASTER CARD?

She can't buy Euro with Naira in Germany. And they won't check her finances since her money is in the block account

Thank you. She has emailed them several times but they don't give her any concrete response. I just want to know, when did you apply and also when did they get back to you? She said she sent her documents to Uni assist in June.

Did they send you an email or post? She's been crying ever since because she was waiting and checking her email everyday to hear from the school. Your response will be much appreciated
